A good hotel for a family holiday with plenty to keep the kids and family occupied. Food was good though after a few days it becomes boring. The hotel staff was very helpful. The rooms were clean and the gardens and outdoor were well maintained. Don’t worry about the restaurant waiters taking your plates the moment you finish. May feel a bit offended but that is the custom. You can always go and get another plate and start all over if needed. Good spa and massage though it’s a bit expensive.
Tennis/table tennis and badminton kept us busy. The indoor pool was fine as it was winter. There is internet (wireless) in the main lobby. Take your laptop if needed. It costs 50 dirham for an hour.
There was a small band providing entertainment in the bar - singer had a fantastic voice. You could dance to the music till midnight. We did not go to the cabaret -so could not comment.
Stock your room with snacks and drinks especially if you have kids. It is difficult to shop outside as it is far from shops. There is a shop in the hotel lobby which stocks biscuits and sweets but opens only at certain times.
The only drawback was it was situated far from the city but then for us one day in the souk was enough. Couldnt stand the haggling.
One word of caution - don’t get conned into getting one of the guides (150 dirham’s) to take you around the souk. Not only will he take you to all the expensive places like carpet manufacturers and other shops but also expects you to buy at enormous prices as he gets a big commission for everything. Be sure that he will make another extra 500 dh from your shopping.
As we wanted to rest we did not venture out to the mountains where you could try in skiing, trekking, cycling etc. Also it was quite expensive to hire 4x4s.
Overall a very relaxing place to go for a break.

Me and my family visited during the Easter school holidays, we arrived checking in all right with welcoming staff, the taxi drivers were also very kind. The first night was very comfortable with a lovely room set up and hygienic bathrooms.
The food was fantastic and with a huge array of foods from all over the world, the pool staff are very good and there is great sports and activity's daily with the lovely Fouad. The shuttle into the heart of Marrakech was easy and very organised. Marrakech was amazing! the main square is such an experience, especially at night.
Most of the taxi drivers speak fluent english, we found a very nice one called Aziz.
Overall well worth a visit and 10 out of 10 is the least we could rate it! Many thanks to all the staff =]

We have just returned from a 7 day stay at the Tikida Garden Hotel and have to say we had a fabulous time. The hotel is very pretty, clean and tidy and the staff were always polite and helpful. The room was spotless with towels etc. changed daily. The view from our balcony over the gardens was lovely and very peaceful. The swimming pool was gorgeous with lots of things going on like tennis, table tennis, aqua aerobics, archery etc that you could join in if you chose.
The food was adequate, a large selection of breakfast items were available with a chef on hand to cook to order if you chose. The dinner was fairly varied and the food of a good standard. The restaurant could have done with the air conditioning being turned up a little though as it could get fairly warm in there at times.
The Zanzibar was a little quiet with live music a couple of times a week until around 11pm. The nightclub (in the hotel grounds) opens at 11.30pm and was good fun, it got very busy with locals who performed belly dancing right through until 4am although the drinks were a little expensive.
We found the setting of the hotel to be perfect as it was a very short drive into the town (either on the shuttle bus or by taxi outside the hotel) but was totally peaceful and away from the manic atmosphere in the city itself. It's not walking distance to the town, so if you want to be in the centre of it all, this isn't the place to stay!
A trip to the Atlas Mountains to visit the villages and waterfalls is well worth it and a trip to Fantasia was fantastic fun with exceptionally good Moroccan food and dancing.
Would recommend taking hand wipes as very few of the toilets outside the hotel have soap available!

Lovely hotel with beautifully kept gardens. Maid service was excellent. It was my birthday and I was greeted by flowers and rose petals on the bed on arrival.
The Guest relations lady Nora was very organised and helpful, what a breath of fresh air this hotel was, great for a relaxing break.
There is an extremely noisy disco in the basement but we asked for a quiet room and were given one in the Menzeh block, which was great. Drinks were a bit pricey so do budget for this.
Food in the main restaurant was varied and plentiful and both of us were happy. If you want something more authentic you can visit one of the other restaurants on site.
Taxis are plentiful at the exit of the airport and should cost about 100 dirhams to the hotel.
Please keep in mind that if you hire a guide for the day you will pay well over the odds for any purchases at the souk, as he will take his cut from the traders.
Only bad thing that we can say about this hotel was the attitude of the staff in the onsite shop. She really could not be bothered and you felt most unwelcome and an interruption to her lengthy personal phone calls on both occasions we tried to buy something.
On every other aspect I highly rate this hotel for service and friendliness of the staff and lovely rooms. Not much evening entertainment but great for a relaxing break.

Well designed but a little dated. The gardens are pleasant.
Pool would have been very pleasant if there had not been a continuous blast of noisy music from a large loudspeaker - making the area unusable for us.
Food in main and poolside restaurants indifferent.
Locality is known as the "Palmery" and indeed there are several palm gardens in the vicinity of the hotel, but they are all derelict and used as rubbish tips. It is not a nice area.
The hotel in not within practical walking distance of the city centre.

My partner & I booked our holiday with Thomson in January. We were so looking forward to our holiday! We stayed at the 4* hotel Tikida gardens from May 6th - 13th 2007 on half board basis.
Well all I can say is we were both very dissatisfied with our hotel the food was the same nearly every night. Restaurant has no air conditioning units! So got quite hot in there.
We were expecting typical morocco cuisine. We didn’t get it at all. The same old slodge every night! Hmm, we ended up paying extra money out to go and eat out at restaurants in Marrakech city. Ahhh wonderful food.
(We have stayed in Agadir 3times in past 5years & beautiful food accommodation)
The staff in the hotel didn’t speak English at all hardly. The hotel tannoy was all in French, at the pool area every thing was in French.
Our room: pretty basic for a 4* hotel we would rate It 2*. Balcony beautiful, view of the excellent gardens. (Only thing nice about the place!)
Our bath never emptied, the plug would not come out! So we'd have the plumber there & he wanted tipping every time he came up in morning & evening.
We would come in 4 days out of 7 to find no towels. The cleaner would forget to bring fresh ones! She also would not understand Basic English (no) had no idea what no meant! Good job we always bring our own towels from home!
We had to purposely dirty our sheets after 3 days to get new ones!
All in all I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone especially how much it actually cost to come here!
We were that bored that we were in bed by 10:45 every night. There is no entertainment what so ever at the hotel. Not even bingo-& I hate bingo!
Anyhow we are off to Luxor Egypt in June 2007. And look forward to our next hotel visit to Iberotel formerly Novotel.
So be warned Tikida gardens Marrakech may look charming as it did to us on Google & in the brochure! However, it’s the real dose hole from hell.

The Hotel is a clean and peaceful haven approx 10 mins from the centre of Marrakech.
We found the food to be of excellent quality and varied, designed to cater for the mainly French guests, however there were a range of Moroccan tangines every night which were extremely appetising.
The Hotel staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist.
The rooms and all areas of the Hotel including the pathways in and around the complex are cleaned daily by a team of cleaners who work tirelessly.
The swimming pool area is beautiful and relaxed and for those who like sport there is a full range of programmed activities which take place throughout the day.
The only issues I have surround the lack of evening entertainment which is confined either to the Moroccan restaurant in the grounds or the Zanzibar Bar.
There is a group that plays in the Zanzibar but at best there appearances are short and infrequent usually coinciding with Dinner. Other than the Hotel there is nowhere else in the evenings to go in the surrounding area.
The only option is go into Marrakech city centre where entertainment is based around Restaurants, Cafes and a small number of Night Clubs.
The price of Wine and Beer in the Hotel is also excessive, 30 dirhams for a 33cl bottle of local beer- £2 and 75 dirhams for a half bottle of Red Wine - £5. These prices rise as soon as you head for the Zanzibar.
If you visit Marjane the local hypermarket the prices for the same products are £0.25 and £2 respectively.
Please be aware that a notice as you enter the Hotel expressly forbids guests from bringing in their own beverages from outwith the Hotel and, yes, they have their own security guards stationed at the door to enforce this rule.
Overall, we had a great holiday with lots of things to see and do.
I would recommend the jeema el fna at night, shopping in the souk and a 4 by 4 trek in the Atlas mountains. The Hotel is a perfect base where you can chill out after a busy day.
