Mar 2009, flintdog

My husband and i went to tenerife in july 2008 to the coral beach aparthotel, i must say we really enjoyed ourselves even thought we are in our early 50s the only niggle we had is that we booked a studio, the room was big enough for 2 of us but there was no room when you wanted to cook something it was hard to find some where in the kitchen to put a plate. I know now that when we go back there ( which will be next year ) we will book a 1 bedroom apartment But othere than that id reconmend tenerife and the hotel to any-one. Nice people lovely place. We cant fault the place.

Sep 2008, Miss A McKay

I agreed with most of the previous comments written, me and my boyfriend stayed here for 14nights the room on initial inspection was a bit dissapointing, but i think it was because the lighting wasnt that great but in the morning we thought it was ok. Rooms were cleaned all the time new towels and bins changed everyday and the room totally cleaned 5 out of 7. Found that the drinks at the bar was a bit pricey especially for alcoholic but most resorts are the same. We had a room that faced onto the pool which was great because we didnt really hear any noise from the road. We felt that you didnt need to go down early to the pool and reserve beds with towels this time of year is quieter. Note that the pool is very deep and only the childs pool is shallow.
The hotel location is great tho, really close to most bars and restaurants if you like normal food HOOTERS is the place to go. PLEASE AVOID TONY ROMAS the food in there was nothing special infact could get a better meal from McDonalds!!!!!
Supermarket at hotel is slightly dearer than the outside ones, on the same street as the hotel you will find the HipoDino supermakert prices quite good about 1euro for bottle of Miller beer.
If you like shopping there are loads of places SAFARI shopping centre is 5mins walk from hotel and really nice shops there but we went to the Market on Sunday in Los Christianos and found that it was great all the Looky-Looky men were there and you could haggle them right down. Take water tho it gets really hot and busy.
We would return again, and to the same hotel.

Sep 2008, Mr K Bigg

We went as a group of 4 friends for 14 nights half-board. Good swimming pool, some entertainment most nights.
Food was great, everything from cereal to full english buffet every morning, with teas, coffees and juices. Evening meal was dfferent every evening and again was good quality.
Location-wise was ok, 10 mins walk in 2 directions got you to the beaches. The main club and bar area is a 15 mins walk, which was ok because no noise, as clubs are open from 11pm-7am!
We had booked a 1 bed apartment for the 4 of us, but when we arrived we were given 2 studio rooms next to each other which was fine for us. Our rooms were pool facing so no noise from roads. Cleaning of rooms was done most days. We had a few problems with one of rooms toilet and a few other things which were fixed quickly and easily.
The hotel bar is expensive unless you buy local spirits or Amstel on-the-tap beer. So instead head to the local pub The George just around the corner for a good laugh, cheap drinks and karaoke til 2am!
Would reccomend this holiday for groups of 18-25's. Would definately go back!

Aug 2008, Mrs M A Quirke

Stayed for 2 weeks. 4th floor. 4 lifts & 1 service lift. Hotel very clean. Staff very friendly. Lovely large rooms with kettle & toaster, shower not powerful but others in our party had much better showers in their rooms. Had a lovely view of sea & mountains, not pool. Bins being emptied early morning was noisy. People banging doors and shouting throughout the day & night(Mainly Italians & Irish) Understand some doors were getting stuck. People did reserve sunbeds with towels early in morning but usually were able to get a bed in the afternoon. Pool very deep all around except childrens section of pool, which stopped alot of people using the pool. Alcoholic drinks were generous and food was edible. Entertainment was outside near pool bar, not very impressive, the comedian was good. Saw a couple of dead cockroaches near reception but that was all. Could smell the killer spray around. Did see cockroaches scattering around the resort in the evening, wouldn't put your bag on the floor. Great real British food especially breakfast & cottage pie & steak pie at the Surfers bar on the sea front towards Los Christianos. Didn't think much of the staff at Robinsons restaurant. We specifically asked if they could provide a sparkler in a dessert for a family birthday before we ordered they said of course, but decided they couldn't for health & safety reasons after we'd eaten. They made out they didn't understand us and were putting away the chairs before we'd finished!
We had great Karaoke nights at George's, turn right out of hotel and then left, opposite Hippo supermarket which is cheaper for food & goods than hotel super.
Trips to Mount Teide are cheaper along Las Veronicas, playa de las Americas, got trip for 15euros each. Hotel 23euros each. Cable car has to be paid for at the site, wasn't working when we got there, apparently happens often but we couldn't go to the top which was disappointing.

Well what can i say bout this...

Jul 2008, Mrs I Mcalpine

Well what can i say bout this hotel......... accomodation was top class we were in a room on 4th floor me, hubby, and 4 yr old daughter, the room was very spacious, big double wardrobes with double mirrors only downfall was the high balcony couldnt leave my daughter alone for two secs but she was well looked after............. member of staff were second to none they were excellent especially andre at the poolside bar he was very nice and brill with the kids spends a lot of time talking to them and giving them ice cream and speaks very good english, cleaners also very pleasant to and do a very good job, hotel reception staff very good too, BEWARE if you go half board we didnt get on with the food at all in fact we paid for it and choose to eat out and also you dont get drinks with your dinner you have too buy them, and there's not a great choice ov meals for kids (chips, chips or chips) food wasnt very good at all.entertainment yes they had kids disco every night, but on two occasions we went and took our daughter we were the only one's there there was late night entertainment too but there was never anyone there either, so dont really no why that was, but there are plenty good english, scottish, irish bars close by that you can use and cater a bit for kids to, there was a crowd of young boys went to the hotel while we were there and as far as i am concerned they went to destroy the place, lovely big pottery plants leading up to the hotel they smashed one, and pulled a metal lampost out near the poolside WHY DO THEY DO THIS? I took the advice of the previous comment and left the shutters shut in the kitchen and bathroom and didnt get 1 cockroach in the room so if you dont want any in your room close the shutters. ..........poolside very clean watched the cleaners clean the pool and poolside every morning again yes if you want a good sunbed you have to be early before 8/9 if you can AND FAMILYS BEWARE OF THE BIG POOL IT'S VERY DEEP for kids ONLY LET STRONG SWIMMERS IN THERE. and before i finish i HAVE TO WARN YOU ALL OF THE TICKET TOUTS they are very annoying AND SO ARE THE CHINEESE WITH THERE GLOW IN THE DARK toys they no the kids want them and cry for them so they torment the kids with them till the parents give in and buy them. all in all we had a fantastic time and would deffo go back, and while your there aquapark is very very good with a fantastic dolphine show. also the showtime sound of music was a brill night to (BEST MEAL OF THE WEEK). So if you go to this hotel you will be sure to have a great time, HAPPY HOLIDAY.

Jul 2008, Mrs M Hanna

We very unimpressed with these apartments as I found that the rooms where not in very good condition and that they were not overly clean.
The apartments were very noisey as I found an awful lot of young people staying with the complex and they had no respect for other holidaymakers.
I would definately not go to these apartments again and would not recommend them to anyone.

May 2008, Mrs A H Henshaw

checked in at coral beach about 6.30pm,was really impressed with what we saw, very clean and staff very nice and helpfull,i always read reviews before i book anywhere, but always forget to leave mine, this is why im leaving mine, as i always find it help full.the room was very clean and had everything we needed for a selfcatering holiday, kettle toaster oven fridge etc,no hairdryer or aircon, but fans and hairdryers can be hirered.it was really hot,but we didnt need to hire a fan as sun didnt shine on our room too much, there where no cockroachers at all,a tip for you keep the shutter closed in the bathroom and balcony door shut so they cant fly in,rooms cleaned 5 times a week,if you need clean towels, just ask the maids, they are more than happy to help, plenty of loungers, but only a handfull that lye back or sit up and only half a dozen umbrellas.didnt really eat there,we took or own drinks and food down to the pool, and no one said anything, the supermarket down the street is alot cheaper than the hotels,as you come out the hotel on the front ,turn left keep walking down you pass a big hotel on your left, abit after that you cross the road and its called the hippo market or the hyper cant remember, but that sells everything you can think off.if you like sole or mowtown theres a brilliant bar, turn right out the hotel, cross the road keep walking straight down pass a super market and a steak house keep walking then on your left theres a row of bars english irish a chinese and the sole bar also plenty of other good bars, linekers bar and all the others up that way are good aswell if your up for a good night, what surprises me is that children can go in them which is good for us because where going back again in june with the kids, the whale and dolphin trips are a must, and go to the beach with the inflatables in the sea,its was the first time me and my husband have been to tenerife and we are so glad we are going back

May 2008, Miss L Dullenty

I have just returned from a 7 night stay at Coral Beach. We had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms and public areas were spotless, hotel staff were very friendly. The pool area was clean and was easy to get a sunbed. The only down side was having a room at the front as it tended to be quite noisy early morning but apart from that it is in a great location with easy access to the bars, shops, restaurants and beach.

I travelled to Tenerife with 5 other...
7 / 10
Jan 2008, Miss L Bartlett

I travelled to Tenerife with 5 other girls as part of a girls holiday in August 2007.
As we arrived in the reception area, we were greeted by hotel staff and given our room keys. Safety deposit boxes are an additional feature so you have to pay a deposit of something like 12 euros for a weeks use.
I was slightly shocked to find that we were required to sign a "contract" upon entering the hotel saying that we would not make any noise after a certain time or would be fined a considerable amount of money. This was probably because we were a big group and of a young age (18), but i don't think it's appropriate tarr all young holiday makers with the same brush.
Rooms are spacious, clean and well kept. Plenty of wardrobe space and 2 massive sliding door mirrors. Bathroom was clean, shower in good working order. Beds were comfortable, and extra pillows and blankets were provided in the wardrobe.
We were given a room facing the front of the hotel, on a main road. Normally this wouldn't have bothered me if it wasn't for the enormous amount of noise that the traffic below provided all day and all night. We weren't the type of group to stay in bed til midday, but we were still annoyed to be woken at 7am by people sounding their horns!
No air conditioning in the room, which meant we had to sleep with the balcony door open, which meant we were easily irritated by the sound of the traffic.
The keys for the rooms are in the form of cards and we were lucky enough to be given a room with a very stubborn door. It is easy to put the key in upside down by mistake and spend half an hour shoving the door, but even easier to put the key in correctly but still manage to snap it in half! They were made of flimsy plastic and not ideal. We did have some issues with our door initially not opening and then after a man had come to fix it, it not closing...but eventually it was sorted, and hotel staff were very friendly and keen to help.
Pool was clean and tidy, plenty of sunbeds, although not a great deal of room to put them. Germans of course wake up at the crack of dawn to get their towels down round the best part of the pool, and we ended up spending our entire week on the deck around the side. We didn't mind too much as it got alot of sun, but also because there were about a million kids terrorising the pool area. The pool was 6ft deep all the way around so it was near impossible to stand up and freezing cold if the sun hadn't reached it.
Food round the pool was nice, lots of tables and chairs but not all in the shade, which we needed for eating. Hotel reception provided internet access, there was a couple of phones but ate up change so it's best to go outside to a phone box as u can get 2 mins for about 2 euros (handy if ur mum is panicking about how u are or if ur desperate to ring ur boyfriend!).
Beware, if you go to Playa De Las Americas as part of a group you WILL be targeted by people selling bar crawls. They drive round on mopeds and literally run after you to get u to sign up to their event. Unfortunately we were targeted on the first day, before the holiday rep had chance to warn us about it in the welcome meeting. It is a SCAM! There are many free bar crawls provided by the reps and clubs alone, but these people charge u 40E, and all u get is a free shot upon entering the club and a chance to see a stripper. Be firm and say no straight away, but they'll probably still hound u everytime they see u. The guy we bought it from was really dodgy and the type of guy that he made sure you cudnt say no to. He bought us alcohol from a local shop, free, to try and entice us to buy the bar crawl tickets. Dodgy as hell!!!!
All in all, i would go to this hotel again, however i would request a pool facing room, and make sure the key didnt snap in the door again! Staff were friendly and helpful and it was a short ten min walk to all the main bars and shops.

I went to the Coral Beach as part of...

Jan 2008, Miss S Harrison

I went to the Coral Beach as part of a party of 4 girls for 2 weeks, and we couldn't have asked for a better location. We had a corner room on the 4th floor, and it was massive, the balcony was huge as well. We had a bedroom with twin beds, and 2 beds in the living room dining room area. We also had 2 showers and 2 toilets, but the little shower flooded the bathroom, so we didn't use that.
For the 1st week we walked to Veronicas & Starcos, but after that we got taxis every night, and the fare was usually about 6euros.
I'm not a strong swimmer, and the pool was 6ft deep all the way around, but despite the "no lilos" sign, there was lilos and other inflatables everywhere, so that wasn't too much of a problem.
There was usually no problem getting a sunbed, but by 11am(ish) they was all taken, by either people or just towels.
The door to our room did not seem to lock or unlock properly, it took us ages to work out that actually it didn't lock at all, it just jammed, you had to kick it or barge it open. Looking back, it is quite a worrying concept, but at the time we found it funny... (I think it was room 408, so give it a cheeky nudge to see if they fixed it lol).
All in all, brilliant holiday, I would strongly recommend it for a clubbing, party holiday base.

Oct 2007, Mrs S Sue And Jim

Very nice hotel, clean, good location just 15 min stroll to the beach. Pool was very nice and kept spotlessly clean, plenty of sunbeds.
Just don’t go half board as restaurant staff were hard work, had to guess what the food was and was over or under cooked. Be great self catering, as food was terrible. Lots of complaints
Entertainment nonexistent but was October when we went resort fab, shopper’s paradise.
Beaches great although can be rocky underfoot when tides out.
Entertainment in the resort its self was great and was some great places to eat out.
Would definitely go back, self catering though.

Good pint of Scottish lager go to Whisky Jar across from the football stadium. Beware scratch card sellers on way to the beach.
