Tenerife is a very nice place to holiday if you just want some sun, but unless you hire a car, there isn't very much to go and see.
The weather was still very warm in September, so we went to the beach most days (there are parasols and sun beds to hire on all the beaches, but you don't have to use them) there are two beaches near the hotel, one with golden sand, and the other with black volcanic sand. The golden one is much better - head to the beach and walk towards los Cristianos.
The pool at the hotel was quite small, and was busy even though the hotel was not at full capacity.
The staff were very friendly and helpful - booking in was fast. When a very noisy family arrived and were put in the room next to us, the staff were very quick to deal with them. The bar is small, but was fine and they served up all different kinds of cocktails. We didn't eat in the hotel, as we were self catering, so I can't comment on the food.
The rooms themselves were large and clean, with huge wardrobes. There is a tiny kitchen as you enter the room, but we found it fine (had fridge, oven, grill, kettle etc).
The balconies were all the same size and quite big - we had breakfast out there every day, and although the view wasn't the best from our side of the hotel (not overlooking the pool), you could still see the sea. There was a little supermarket near to the hotel, but it was very expensive.
There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby - the place is packed with them! We found a really nice restaurant (I've forgotten the name - sorry) come out of the hotel, turn left and cross the road - it's on the corner. Make sure you try Canarios potatoes - they are served in most places and delicious!
I would go to Tenerife again, but maybe to a different part, I would definitely hire a car to go and explore the mountains. Trips were available, but very expensive!

Before we arrived, we expected a small dingy hotel having booked it last minute at a cheap price. But when we arrived to our surprise, it was large and attractive. We arrived in the middle of the night and there was still staff at reception that were friendly. A complaint we had is that we were not shown to our room just told where it was, and occasionally some of the staff were a bit rude which we felt may be due to our young age (18).
The pool area was attractive and the pool was fairly large although deep in all places. Rules that were posted around the pool did not apply, such as not being able to reserve sun beds, as people did this every day by placing their towels on them and then going out. However, there were many activities offered around the pool such as scuba diving and entertainment staff that were always on hand to play football, ping pong etc. There was also two bars; one indoors and one out, both of which offered a wide range of drinks and snacks at good prices.
The room itself was spacious and cleaned everyday (beware of cleaners walking in whilst you're still in the room which was alarming at first). The balcony we had got sun for nearly all of the day and had a beautiful sea view as well as a view of the town. The kitchen was small but had everything that’s needed.
The town was brilliant it had everything, from lovely beaches to loads of restaurants and bars. Especially good for younger age groups (18-30). Overall a brilliant hotel and holiday would definitely go back.

Hotel in general - Very mixed clientele. Mostly young groups, however a few couples and families which was nice.
Location : great location for bars, shops etc... short walk to main strip of clubs and bars. (5-10 minute walk ) passing all of the family bars on the way.
Food/ pool bar - Pool Bar was slightly over priced and food was reasonable however not great. I advise for the same price you can get a lovely meal on the beach front for the same price.
The pool was very deep however most people floated on lilo’s.
Rooms - The rooms were huge which was great and had built in mirrored wardrobes which was great for getting ready. TV only had one English channel (slightly annoying). And there only seemed to be a few plug sockets causing a bit of a problem if you wanted to have music on and blow dry your hair at the same time.
Warning : do not get a room at the back of the hotel. The dustbin men come at least twice in the night. Firstly at 2.30am (yes that’s 2.30 in the morning) and then again at 5am. The noise echoes so much it will definitely wake you up if you are sleeping.
I would say that Tenerife is really aimed at young people. 17-20 There were lots of groups of young boys and girls and the average age was 19.
I am 21 and I felt a bit old and passed it, even though I love clubbing. You get the little boys trying to chat you up and they haven't even got hair on their chest yet.

We stayed at Coral Beach in June 2007. Hotel was very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was ok. Hotel was in great location.
Entertainment in hotel was not so good. But it was June, prob better in high season July and August.
TV in room only had 2 English language channels; CNN & Eurosport. Kid’s pool was perfect for small children.
If I was going back to Tenerife I would deff go back Coral Beach. Good value for money & good location.

We found coral beach represented good value for money, apartments were nice and spacious and very clean. Location is excellent as they are only a 5-10 min walk from all the shops and nightlife and the staff were nice and pleasant to deal with. Lovely pool and we had no problems with sun beds. Variety of entertainment available most nights.
Overall we enjoyed our stay in the apartments, (a group of the 8 and only Irish here!). The only downside was the noise of the bins being collected every morning at 6 am outside the apartments! I would definitely stay here again if I was to come back to Las Americas but would request a pool view room so it wouldn’t be facing the noisy road!

Tenerife very nice and clean but found to be quite expensive especially in this so called family hotel! Found food to be of quite a low standard matched only by the service in the restaurant in the half board basis.
We found long queues waiting to be seated drinks arriving towards the end of meals or sometimes not at all, food replaced too slowly on both breakfast & dinner buffets not leaving much choice & in general poor standard. I found myself eating away from restaurant even though included in holiday package.
There was no children’s entertainment after 3 days at resort main entertainer left leaving hotel with no day time activities on sight for rest of the 14 days stay.
Staff are very polite & helpful where they can but be careful at the pool bar restaurant as if you receive table service you probably won’t get your change unless you chase them for this, found to be a constant problem for most guests during our stay change being put into the tips jar without authorisation!
Evening entertainment found starting too late no activities starting until 10pm or even later 11pm on a lot of occasions, hypnosis night very funny the rest however were good catalysts to get you out of hotel to see the rest of the sights of the resort that’s if you haven’t already tucked up in bed being so late!!
Swimming pool was a decent size & very deep also very congested with loads of rubber rings & lilos, around the pool floor tiles hot enough to cook your dinner drying out in seconds to burn the soles of your feet when leaving the pool!
Wouldn't recommend this hotel on half board basis or if looking for on sight entertainment or even Tenerife in general for those on a tight budget.

I am just home from a fab 2 week holiday in Tenerife. Apartments were lovely. Very clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The holiday rep could have been around a little more though. Pool was very deep so not a good idea to jump in after a night out.
Night life over here was brilliant. Clubs opened all night long. The Dubliner pub is a must. The lads are ace in there and the band are brilliant. Food is very reasonable and good as well. Would recommend going to the Aberdeen Steak house, there is about 5 around the resort.
Recommend Tenerife to anybody that is looking for a good holiday with good night life.

I booked this accommodation online for myself, wife and two children (10 and 1yr). These are very clean apartments and complex and compared to other holidays the studio room was a good size with plenty of storage space.
The pool is split into two parts (0.7m for small children and over 6ft! for the remainder) and is very deep for children. Reception staff are very helpful - watch out for Hector who seems to know everything about everything and is a great place to start for local knowledge/information. Some of the entertainment in Tropical Bar is well worth a look- keep an eye out for the Hypnosis show which is great fun.
A visit to Loro Parque (in the north 1.5 hours by bus) is a fantastic day out although shop around for the best prices (47 euros from resort rep - we paid 32.50 euros just down the road with a booked seat on the bus). Be careful when traveling on the free Aqua parks bus - no booked seats, first come first serve and we saw several people paying for taxis back at the end of the day out so be early!
Be prepared to be pestered by scratch cards touts (who promise a guaranteed prize if you listen to a presentation at a nearby office- avoid it like the plague), every restaurant calling you in even when they have just watched you eat next door, the African watch/sunglasses sellers who seem to genuinely believe they are selling the original brand names - if their products last as long as your holiday your on a winner and the largest Chinese population outside Beijing selling the type of tat that you'd associate with a traveling funfair in the UK.
Overall a great holiday, very good hotel and location and some great bars and restaurants within minutes. Enjoy your holiday.

As these apartments were so cheap I really wasn't expecting them to be anything more than basic but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff on reception speak brilliant English and are really helpful.
Our studio room was large with tons of wardrobe space, and a large bathroom and balcony. It was really clean and there is maid service every day. I requested a top floor room with a pool view which is exactly what we got, and it also had a sea view.
The pool area is nice, and we found that you can get a sunbed until about 11am which is better than a lot of places I’ve stayed at before.
I am not sure how noisy it is during the evening as I was rarely home before daylight, but it is really quiet if you want to sleep during the day!
It is also in a great location, 10 minutes walk from all the main nightlife and close to the sandy beaches too. Georges bar is a must for an English breakfast (served until 2pm!). We never saw a cockroach here during our stay (although there are plenty on the road outside!).
We absolutely loved our holiday here and would definitely go back. There was only one poor point about the holiday, and that is that the shower was very unpowerful and we were lucky to get more than a drizzle of water from it. But this wouldn't put me off staying here again as everything else was brilliant.

This holiday was a last minute booking, and very good. But as with any holiday there were a few downsides. If you want a sun bed by the pool then be prepared to be up at the crack of dawn, selfish people leave towels to reserve sun beds but then go out for half the day!
The apartment we were in was lovely, staff very friendly, especially Israel and Hector. Because it is central to all night life don't expect much sleep, also many Brits in hotel quite selfish with noise levels til gone 3am. (I am only 21 but was still getting fed up as the week went on).
Holiday reps were very friendly but not often seen, but the advice they gave was top notch!
We went self catering, some places a bit dodgy, be wary there are often hidden charges. We loved Pasta Y Vino and Michelangelo’s. If you fancy typical English food without too much glam try The George Pub, not the smartest but cheap and very friendly. Loro Parque and the catamaran are a must!
I would come back, when I regain some energy!

A very clean complex. Well placed for beach and shops. Maid service 6 days a week with a towel change each day. The one bedroomed apartment has two bathrooms inc. shower and toilet in each. Friendly staff getting a sunbed here was mad. People lay out their towels as soon as the cleaners have finished even though there is a notice saying that this isnt allowed. The pool is quite deep. You need to be very tall to stand with your head above the water. Overall pleasant apartment, would go back.

Just arrived back to Scotland from Tenerife. Stayed 2 weeks here at Coral Beach. Apartment basic but very clean.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Our apartment had 2 bathrooms one with shower and a bath. Entertainment was on hand but usually didn't turn up.
This had nothing to do with the hotel. Great eaten places nearby Cheiftans, Whisky Jar if you like a good Scottish lager and a new Family bar JD Leas.
Would recommend this area in Tenerife as it is central for everything and you get a good night’s sleep if needed. Away to book Coral Beach for next year.
