Arrived at the Cye Salou on a sunday afternoon and was checked in immediately by a very friendly receptionist. Apartment 608 was lovely, one bedroom with two single beds pushed together, plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe and shelves to put t-shirts etc on. The lounge/kitchen area was great, plenty of room, sofa pulls out to make a double bed, tv in a wall unit which holds all of the crockery, glasses, cutlery, tablecloth, napkins and tea towels. Kitchen had table with four chairs, sink and two hobs and all pots and pans(they provide you with a sealed pack which comprises..dish cloth, scourer and washing up liquid. There is an iron and ironing board in a cupboard in the lounge. Bathroom has sink, bath with shower and shower curtain and hairdryer (which was quite good compared to others I have tried)
You are provide with a mop and bucket and dustpan as the maid service is not daily, they change you bedding once a week and towels twice a week. You have to dispose of your own rubbish but there are bins provided on every floor.
On the ground floor next to reception there is an internet room with pool tables and dartboard. The swimming pool with sun loungers are all kept to a good standard of cleanliness. The bar downstairs is called the Crazy Wave, good karaoke every night (no noise disturbance in the apartments) beware of how much they are charging (the same two drinks cost between 6 and 10 euros).
The Cye Salou is on the Europa roundabout. Directly outside the hotel you can catch a bus to Barcelona (although we walked along to the port and caught the train for 12 euros 40 cents each and it was a lovely trip along the coast, then got the open top tourist bus for 21 euros each for a days pass). If you turn right out of the hotel, cross the road and turn right again you come to Lindas bar, lovely welcoming atmosphere with a general knowledge quiz most nights and excellent food at really good prices, we tried the full english breakfast and the rump steak, both excellent. Cross the same road and turn left across the road again you will come to Buddies & Co, again lovely service and fantastic food. All bars and restaurants are within a couple of minutes walk from the apartments, Fox and Hounds (try the steak pie), Old Brown Cow (cottage pie) and the Txoko Wok Chinese, eat as much as you want buffet, are all good. Our favourite bar was an Irish bar called Christys, a bit out of the way but excellent Irish music followed by music quiz hosted by Brian (really funny and entertaining).
Busses run every couple of minutes along the seafront (about 5 minutes walk from the apartments) to Cambrills and Tarragona.
We had a hire car and visited Montblanc and Montserrat in one day, Bonavista market and Tarragona in another day and finally Castillo Miravet (inland with with a lovely river running along it. Make sure if you have a car to travel across the pas de barca ( a raft which takes the car and passengers across the river for 3 euros).
Buy any cigarettes or alcohol in the resort as they are cheaper than at the airport.
There is a minimarket next door which sells the water cheaper than anywhere else, and just around the corner you will find the michaelangelo supermarket which sells everything you would need for a self catering holiday

my family and i two adutlts a 16 year old and a 6 year old have just returned from salou staying at the cye apartments salou,it is on the plaza eurpoa, very central for everything,it is supposed to be a 2key apartment block but i would say it is 5 star, the apartment was fantastic absolutley gorgeous and very modern lots of marble and red sparkly granite in the bathroom,it was spotless throughout, lovely reception and pool area, we were on the 5th floor and we had a corner balcony with a sea view and a view of the streets the balcony must have been 23 feet each side and we had the sun all day the views from it were tremendous, the apartment had everything we needed hairdryer, iron and ironing board, the only minor thing was we had to hire a kettle and toaster which was a bit surprising since it was a self catering apartment,we got fresh towels and linen 3 times in the week we were there, the maids, reception staff etc were great very friendly and helpfull, the apartment was fully air conditioned, but remember to close the doors and windows or it wont work, the lazy wave at the bottom was great fun for entertainment, the pool was lovely and kept very clean this is a great family orientated place and central to everything, the best places to eat in our opinion was the old brown cow and the fox and hound both brittish pubs the meals were fantastic and they did not scrimp on anything, although i have to say the old brown cow does the best breakfast of the two but overall the food in both these places was excellent and great value, portaventura theme park was amazing, do get the golden cup it costs 12 euro but for that you get free refills all day unlimited soft drinks, heres a tip if you go ask for an apartment ending on 04 for a street corner balcony or 03 for a pool corner balcony you get so much more for your money,(we preferred the street corner as iy was such a great view and good to watch the world go by and for the sun all day the 03 apartments only get the sun in the morning/mid afternoon, i will definatley be back to the cye it was excellent and deserves a higher rating than it has,any questions feel free to email me.i will try to include some photos of the apartment and views.

just back from a weeks self catering holiday in cye apartments salou. well where to start ,apartments are fine, good size the only thing was there was no kettle or toaster which i thought a bit strange as it is self catering. the apartments are a five minute walk to the beach which is really nice and clean, there is also a bus stop right outside with a guide there all day who will keep you right. you are pretty much centrally located for everything. portaventura is a 20 minute walk away but i didnt think it was that good definately not worth the 44 euros each that it cost. the lazywave pub is right under the apartments and can be quite noisy up until about half twelve.the apartments has its own pool with a life gaurd on duty from 9 till 9 but be warned he spends most of his time chatting up the young ladies and not watching the pool. all in all a good holiday was had all be it a lit bit noisey.

These appartments are excellent . Are family of 5 went to stay there and had had great time . It is close to everything , the beach and portaventura. They are privately located and not in the middle pubs and clubs . Brilliant if you want to relax . Rooms are very clean and plenty of room . Only downfall was no english tv .

The hotel was lovely very clean and modern. It had a dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine which was very handy.
It had satellite TV but it only had the news in English (the same things were repeated over and over again!).
The hotel was not far from a grocery shop and the beach.
The area was very quiet, though there is a train at the back of the hotel which seldom went by during the night.
There was no safety deposit box which you could buy.
The pool was not great, so we went to the Caribe Water Park in Port Aventura most days.
But the Hotel was lovely any way.
