The Learys's photos of La Morana Apartments

Stayed here July 2011 with hubby, 15 year old son and his friend. Apartment was quite roomy and clean with the maids coming on a regular basis. Would have liked an oven only because the boys wanted to cook pizza. Excellent location, although there is a steep hill to climb to get to reception, helps get rid of the pounds gained from the beer. The man who runs the pool bar is a diamond. The groundsmen who look after the pool and building are continously keeping the area nice. The pool is great and there is plenty of sunbathing area. Been back a week and already looking to go back next year.

Excellent Holiday

Jun 2011, Lou

We recently stayed in the morana for 11 nights and we can honestly say it was the best 2star apartments we have ever stayed in, it honestly should be rated higher.
The staff in reception particularly the man and woman with the black curly hair are extremely friendly and accomdating especially as we had a very late flight and a young child.
The cleaning staff and bar staff again were extremely friendly.
The apartments themselves are very big, they are exactly as seen in the brochure pictures.
Pool was lovely.n though a little cold but you got use to it. Childrens pool is great a perfect dept.
The only thing i wipl say is that the tiles both in the apartment and around the pool are extremely slippy so you really have to watch your step.
The snack bar is perfect for lunch we would highly reccomend it.
Also when they say the apartments are up cardiac hill they arent joking. Please be warned if you have any sort of walking difficulties or health mainly lungs or cardiac problems these apartments arent for you.
The location is perfect its in the middle of new and old town. Less than 2minutes to the beach and a shop at both the top and bottom of the hill.
We would definately reccommend these apartments to anyone planning on going to puerto del carmen and we will be returning to them in the near future.

Great place to stay as the beach is 2 minutes walk away along with pubs, restaurants, which were all very close. Great pool area and nice and quiet. Clean apartments and fab view from the balcony sea view apartment we had. Only one negative was the receptionist who was at the front desk when we were enquiring about prices - very unprofessional. didnt give any kind of a welcome and seemed rather put out that we had disturbed her and she chewed her chewing gum quite noticeably. i'm not a fussy person but she didnt have an ounce of customer service in her. Overall, a great holiday and a great base.

Extremely handy apartments for a week on the sandy beach. They are a few yards from the beach in Puerto del Carmen, which was what I was looking for, and close to the village where to have a walk in the evenings and have dinner after a hard day lying on the sun.
Rooms are not big, but the view is espectacular over the sea. Its quite and clean, and the staff is helpful. Nice stay.

May 2008, Mrs E Bateman

We were looking forward for a holiday at the seaside and were unsure about the booking, as it´s getting difficult to find budget accommodation truly close to the beach. But, we found the place! One can just go for an early morning walk to the beach straight from bed. Decoration is not great, but it is quite and relaxing and a short walk to the town centre: perfect for us. Liked — location, proximity to the beach. Disliked — room decoration

A very pleasant holiday apts. nearby the sea, sunny, clean and close to nice restaurants in Puerto del Carmen.
The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed their help, and we were lucky with the rest of clients, as did not find many children around making noise. It is quiet in the evenings and the price is good for the value you get.
We found they were a good place where to come back for a break near the beach. Lanzarote is a wonderful island one should not miss.

We found the morana apartments to be...

Jun 2007, Ms L Bridson

We found the morana apartments to be very central to restaurants, shops, pubs, beach etc. There is a bit of a steep hill going to the apartments. Staff were very friendly & their English was good. Stayed in a 1 bed apt facing the pool which was very clean, staff came a few times during the week to clean it, kitchen facilities had everything you needed. The pool was cleaned out every day. Unlike a previous report we did not have to hire the remote control for the TV.
We did not have any cockroaches in the apt during our 1 week stay there. There isn't 24 hr reception at the apt block but there is a man that goes round checking the block at night.
Our daughter was 7 months old when we stayed there & even though there are stairs to get to the apartments we didn't find this to be to much of a problem.
This was my second visit to Puerto del Carmen my first visit I stayed in the Kon Tiki apartments just across the road from the Morana apartments & we are coming back again next year for the Christmas. I enjoy Puerto del Carmen as there are plenty of restaurants to eat in the New town & Old town which are very reasonable plus good entertainment in the bars (even though we were home quite early with having the baby).
I liked the morana apartments & I would stay there again.

From a young person’s point of view, I don’t like to stay in apartments, with a lot of young people as you never seem to get any sleep, so the Morana apartments were perfect with a mixture of ages not all young.
They have great nice big spacious rooms. The view was great.
A very steep hill up to it which I enjoyed as I looked at it as a bit of exercise also the steps, however the steps wouldn't be very wheel chair friendly.
Apartments are located practically in the centre of all the action unless you wish to travel to the Texas ranch park etc, which is a great theme park for young and old.
If you were to hire a car I would advise two days max as we hired one for three days which was a bit of a waste of money.
Pool side is a bit of a heat trap but there is a roof terrace with a breeze and the beach is literally across the road. Over all very pleased with the apartment and they were cleaned every second day.
The reason I give it 9/10 is because I would have preferred air-conditioned apartments.

We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. The accommodation is spacious and well laid out. The pools were clean and the snack bar particularly nice and reasonably priced.
HOWEVER, there was a very bad smell from the toilet in our apartment. There was no bath and the shower basin filled with water as you showered. The cutlery, towels and bedclothes were shabby, the sheets even had holes in them. Worst of all, given we stayed in January, the bedclothes were damp. You must RENT the remote control and toaster.
The remote was a waste for us as there only appeared to be one English-language channel. TV plug was faulty - when we complained we were told someone would come to look at it but no-one came. The brochures say these apartments are family-friendly. But with no bath and lots of steps from reception to the apartmentt but no lift.
I would not recommend them for those with buggy-aged children.

Jul 2005, Mr BK Kenny

I found the Morana a very pleasant resort to stay in, the area is very clean, the other holidaymakers were friendly, no young groups or there weren’t many children, which was a bonus.
The food at the poolside bar was cheap, along with the drinks. Reception were very helpful. I can’t complain about it. I found it to be of a higher quality than 2 star. Just be careful at night not to open your window as the was a lot of cockroaches, but you will find this everywhere. The apartments were very spacious compared to most apartments I have stayed in.

We visit Lanzarote every April and October since 1995. After 3 other hotels/apartments we discovered Morana. For us "middle agers" (1953/1958) this is a perfect location. Hardly any (screaming) kids!!
Good rooms, good beds, very friendly staff, clean. Nice, small pool with a FANTASTIC sun deck overlooking sea road and beach and at night a view up to the lights of Fuerteventura. Pool side bar/restaurant, simple, good and not expensive. Via a STEEP road only 50-75 meters away from sea road and very large sand beach; all entertainment/ restaurants/bars etc. are available on the sea road. Small supermarket, ATM, car rent in very near surrounding.
Can't wait to go back!
