Loved it but apartment needs some TLC!

We have just returned from this apartment complex. We had two apartments 1510 with 3 bedrooms and 1526 with just the one. There was a aremarkable difference between the apartments and like the previous reviewer we had some staining on walls, flies and damp wet smelling bedrooms. The rooms 1510 to 1506 are the only ones on one level and are easy to recognise- these are the only ones still to be renovated.Apartment 1526 was lovely. That being said we liked the position of the apartment as it was very quiet with no one above us, the kids club and playground was just in front and we had a very large terrace. Other good points were the food which was of an excellent standard, the cleaniness and maintenance of the grounds, the swimming pools and the bar area again all excellent. The kids club was fab and the entretainment very good if a little cheesy! Position excellent a short walk from a lovely beach. I would very highly recommend these apartments just avoid 1510 to 1506 if you can!!
Absolutley Amazing!!

When I was booking this hotel I checked the reviews carefully and was pleased that we would get a nice, basic, clean apartment and that would be all. I went for a week all inclusive with my boyfriend, and I was totally amazed from start to finish and to be honest I am a bit picky! To start with the massive apartment for 2! It was brilliant and had everything you could possibly want- super clean, all mod cons, air con, hairdryer, coffee machine, microwave- the list goes on and on. Our balcony was fab for people watching and was an absolute suntrap all day until 6pm. One or two days wre a bit windy by the pool, but our balcony was protected. The rooms beside ours had the biggest terrace i have ever seen- they had sunbeds up there- ask for rooms L102 or 103- we were L104. The food was fabulous- so good in fact that my clothes did not fit me on the way home- every meal had a huge choice for every taste. Some German people we met felt that the food was samey- we never found that but we were'nt eating that much salad compared to them!! Coffee, ice cream and cake at 4pm every day- the ice cream is fab! The drinks were fantastic too- my fella loved the Dorada beer (he's usually a cider man) and i found the spirits to taste much the same as at home- they had the right effect anyway!! Try the lumumba- brandy and choc milk- yum yum!! I have to mention the staff- they made our holiday! Absolutley brilliant team- our faves were Blas, Noel and Herbie. Such fun and always smiling- even when some people were rude and horrible to them- it just meant they waited longer for drinks the next time- a bit of advice, treat the staff nicely and you will be treated fantastically! The animation staff were brill to- i read a review saying they didn't speak english and never bothered with the british or irish kids- absolute nonsence- they were fluent in English as well as many othe languages and held a mini disoc for them every night- we actually enjoyed it more than the kids! Brill facilities like tennis, pool tables, volleyball and fab games at the pool every day for EVERYONE to take part in. Darts, ball games, german games, boules, darts, water polo and the mornings had a streching class, a wee bit like pilates. How or why people have complained is beyond me! The guests were mostly german which was no problem for us- most of the freinds we made and drunk with at night were German and they were great fun! It puts us to shame because they can all speak pretty good english. But it has british guests too. The entertainment was on every night and was generally over by 11pm- every show was fab- esp the russian show. Trust me the men will love the russian girls. My boyfriend has discovered the joys of bingo and is now an addict! Location- across the road from the most beautiful beach and a 20 min stroll to all the main bars in Pueto Del Carmen- taxi- 3 euros All in all I would recommend this place to anybody! We had a superb time and can't wait to return next year!
Did we get the apartment from hell??
from FerdinandLeics
Just spent Christmas at these apartments. Having read all the reports before we booked we thought we could not go wrong, this was the one for us. We must have got it wrong somehow. All the reports say how the apartments were refurbished to a good standard - try apartment 1509 people. The walls were black with damp in the bathroom and bedroom. The shower head and shower screen were full of black mould. The beds were damp. We had tatty old bath towels. The sheets were threadbare. The blankets were filthy. Black flies covered the apartment. We must have been in another time zone or something, or been allocated the apartment from hell. Believe me, we do not complain for the sake of it and have made our feelings known to the travel agents. Just wish we had been allocated the brilliant accommodation everyone else appears to have enjoyed at the Floresta. This accommodation really spoiled our Christmas holidays, and we have been going abroad for Christmas for many moons now. Cannot fault the resort or Lanzarote, but just wish we had returned to the Riu Olivania.
great apartments and resort
from EnglandTraveller2007
we stayed at the floresta at the end of november and had a wonderful stay.the apartments are spacious and bright and the cleaners work extreamly hard(they change the mop heads for each apartment)and even the most tight fisted of people would find it hard not to tip them. the grounds have cacti gardens and are spotless. the dining room and the building that has the evening entertainment have a great design. before i sound like the manager of the floresta or a travel rep there are some negative points. some of the paths around the complex are tiled and could be slippy, our 3 year old daughter fell over a few times. we booked half board and the food was a bit hit and miss.there was a limited choice and although some of the salads were good, the rice and pasta salad looked and tasted as if it was from the previous evening with some added ingredients thrown in.the food was not hot and we had to blast it in the microwave, although most people there seemed to like it luke warm!breakfast was good, with a english breakfast if you wanted it(the sausages are not the same though!!) after a week the food got a bit samey, but for the price we paid you cant grumble, and its no better or worse than some of the restaraunts you can end up eating in. it is aprox 8 euros from the airport to the floresta and after visiting playa blanca and costa teguise i think Playa De Los Pocillos is the best resort with a stretch of sand that goes all the way to purto del carmen, however 8 euros for 2 sunbeds a day is shocking. excursions are a bit expensive but the grand tour is well worth going on. we would most definatly go back to the floresta.
All-Inclusive Stay
from GerryDoh
Both apartments and public areas have recently been refurbished and the whole place is spotless. The apartments are well equipped with a 2 ring ceramic hob, microwave grill, electric coffee maker, toaster etc. All are air-conditioned. Although the weather was brilliant and the complex had a 100% occupancy there was never any problem getting sunbeds around the large swimming pool area. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis although about 75% of the other guests were either self catering or half board. Breakfasts were excellent with something to suit everybody. Evening meals were very good with a both a meat dish and a fish dish being show cooked each night. Lunch however was slightly disappointing in that meats and vegetables were of the processed variety. Unlike other all-inclusives in which we have stayed there were no snacks available outside meal times apart from cake or biscuits being provided for an hour between 4 and 5pm. Personally we were glad as our waistlines were suffering enough from the meals on offer. The beer was Dorada and was the same as supplied to paying guests. The local spirits were fine but personally we found the red and white wine to be foul although other people seemed to have no trouble drinking it. There were cabaret acts providing entertainment on 5 of the 7 nights that we were there. Generally however this would only last for an hour or so and there was little atmosphere about the place at night. We therefore went out most nights. There is a sprinkling of bars and shops in the immediate vicinity of the apartments. The Hotel San Antonio which would mark the beginning of Puerto Del Carmen is a good 20 minute brisk walk away. It would take another 40 minutes or so to reach the Old Town. There is however a bus that runs every 20 minutes and costs only 1 Euro. Taxis are plentiful and can usually be hailed within seconds and cost no more than 3 to 5 euros depending on what part of town you are heading to/from.
Lovely Lanzarote
from Cymraes26
We loved the Playa Pocillos although having read the reviews before going we were very apprehensive due to the varying reviews. We found the reason for this is that there is a Playa Pocillos Hotel which is all inclusive and also the lovely Playa Pocillos Apartments, both within a few kilometres of each other . We stayed at the apartments which are in a very quiet area and the pool is a sun trap which was fantastic on those windy days. The sea front and several restaurants are within a few minutes walk of the apartments and Puerto del Carmen is also only a very short taxi ride away. Th apartments themselves were very well laid out with a nice patio area with table and chairs and sliding patio doors into a very large living / kitchen area which was well furnished (even a complimentary kitchen pack) with a very pleasant decor. The bedroom was roomy with plenty of storage space and there was a very large bathroom with bath and overhead shower. There was a well stocked supermarket a very short walk away (out of the entrance turn left and then right at the end of the road supermarket a few yards down on the left) or for more serious shopping there is a Spar down by the sea front. Lanzarote itself is a fantastic island which is kept spotlessly clean, with a laid back atmosphere and I would recommend it to anyone.
Clean and ticked all our boxe.

Travelled to these apartments with our twin 4 year old daughters. This was our first hot holiday together being ski holiday people. We were wanting a simple bucket and spade holiday which felt safe for the children. These apartments were perfect. We booked a one bedroom apartment. The information on the web was a little thin on the ground but what there was was mainly positive so we took a chance. The communal buildings were well maintained and clean. There were 2 pools in the main complex area and another attached to another area. All pools were tested daily and three times in the week the whole area was hosed and swept. This involved over 15 staff members!!!! The complex also had crazy golf, tennis courts and a small childrens playground. Each day you could opt into activities such as waterpolo or badminton, although we didn't they were fairly popular. We were half board which meant we had to pay for drinks in the evening. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Full English, croissants, cereal, fruit, bread, yoghurts tea coffee and juices. All on a buffet basis. Evenings were also taken as a hot or cold buffet. Lots of choice and on the whole very good. The door to the kitchen was left open at times and this was also very clean! The rooms were cleaned most days, towels changed every other day and beds changed once in the week. The apartments were well kept and refurbished recently. They were a good 3 star and very acceptable. The bedroom had a ceiling fan and the sitting room / kitchen area had two single beds / sofas, satelite TV with 3 British channels and air conditioning. The kitchen has all you needed for lunch preparation. The bathroom had a bath with shower over it, a hairdrier, basin and tiolet. The beach was within 200m of the apartments, literally across the road. This was a family beach with all shapes and sizes and all nationalities. The beach had a very gradual slope and the sea remained shallow for a long way, even at high tide. We travelled at the end of October and the weather was brilliant. 2 windy days but this was welcome as the temperatures remained in the high twenties. Overall an excellent holiday for the kids. A very safe environment and well run complex.
Floresta
from annabaz
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Floresta Apartments, 27 Sep - 4 Oct, the apartment was really nice and clean and had everything in it that made our stay comfortable, more pillows would have been nice but not a major issue, if we went again id probably ask for a 2nd floor apartment as you have more privacy on the balcony. It is mainly German occupied and everyone seemed quite friendly so no problems there, and its probably a 20 - 30 min walk into Puerto del Carmen or you can catch the local bus just outside the complex for 1 euro each. My only issue with the place was that it was full of kids usually crying or screaming and running wild or pushing each other in the pool, if you want to go and relax on holiday maybe this isnt the place for you, having said that we enjoyed our stay at the Floresta, nice apartment, lovely weather, enjoyed Lanzarote and found it easy to get about on the buses.
Fab apts

Highly recommend these apartments. Rooms kept very clean, maid in every day. Had everything we needed. Mainly germans. 3 large swimming pools. Good snack bar (very large alcohol measures!). Didn't use Reception so cannot comment but we were phoned at 12.01 on our day of depature to make sure we were leaving!! Didn't use restaurant. 8 euros to get a taxi to/from the airport, around a 10/15 minute drive. Highly recommend the Jungla Bar which is on the sea front. Very good food and fab cocktails. Really good customer service - they even took us out on our last night. Under 5 euros to get into centre of Pt Del Carmen by taxi. Fully recommend La Brasseria. Ate in different restaurants for the first 3 nights but then found this place and ate there for the rest of our holiday. Tropical - good bar/club. Again good alcohol measures and good table service. Weather was cloudy during most days until early afternoon when the sun burns through, then is very hot but is deceiving with the wind - so wear sun cream!! Very windy on nights so take a jacket!
just returned from a 9 day stay ( 4 adult 2 children ). first time AI as always gone SC, food plenty and good choice for all as was the quality. Alcohol drinks are typical local brands (weak beer and spirits not all to good, baileys / sangria are about the best equivalents... more
