Ipanema Park Apartment

We have stayed at the Ipanema Park for the last 6 years and will hopefully be going back next year. We love the place and find all the staff helpful and the cleaning ladies are very hardworking. The pool area is always clean, as are the rooms and any problems are dealt with promptly. There is a wonderful view from the hotel over the marina and the sunsets in October are beautiful. El Cenador is a really good restaurant in the commercial centre near the hotel and San Miguels is the best in the main commercial centre. There is always a queue for a table and the food is great. The Wigwam Bar is excellent and only about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to you and if you go onto their website and register with Friends of Ipanema Park you will get 10% discount when booking with them directly.

Just got back after two fab weeks at ipanema park. we could not have been looked after more if we had been in 4 star.All the staff are very helpfull and they work so hard . The rooms are spotless thanks to the cleaning girls . the food is good , the poole area is very clean . We would like to thank Lisa and Radu ,james and pete,also Amanda and sue they all run the bar and resturant at differant times of the day and night . radu is a brilliant chef they all looked after us well we dident have a bad meal . The entertainment on an evening was ok well most of it. would recamend this hotel ,cant wait to go back . The only down side is the steps at the side of the hotel, you have to down them to get down onto the road to go into the town centre,or do what we did and get a taxi for 3 euros .thaks once again to you all not forgetting the reception staff .

We have just returned from the Ipenema park and can't say enough great things about our stay. When we arrived we were told that the half board base we had booked was only available with a very limited menu. However the hotel staff suggested that we could eat at the sister hotel , The Marina Suites which was literally 5 minutes away. they offered to provide a taxi to get us there but it was a nice walk before dinner. We ate breakfast at The Ipenema which was fine and dinner at the Marina Suites where the food was very good. In addition to this The Reception manager offered to upgrade our accomodation, for the inconvenience. They then gave us the keys to the Villa....WOW amazing and frankly the best accomodation i have ever stayed in. It made a budget break a 5 star experience and we can't wait to return. Thankyou Raphael and his staff for a lovely stay!!!

Don't ever listen to bad reviews about these apartments, we went in July the place was immaculate! Should definatley be rated more than 3 stars, the only bad thing was the Spanish hogging all the sun loungers but reception just told us to take theirs off, we did and they never even retured for the hole day (greedy people trying to keep all the loungers for themselves). Poolbar food was basic but lovely, especially lovely people working behind the bar. A long walk down the millions of steps but good exercise!! Cheap enough to get a taxi to the main centre 4 euros at the most and reception kindly order these for you. Our balcony door wasnt secure, we reported this and it was seen to almost straight away. Would definatley go back!

when i went on my holiday 2 gran canaria I stayed in ipanema park and i have 2 say the staff and the dj were really really nice they made us feel welcome....
The pool was lovely and once or twice the lift wasnt in service....
If I had 2 choose between going 2 sumwere in ireland or going back 2 ipanema park
I would choose Ipanema park xx..........

where to start,firstly there was no kids club which we were told there was,they had a guy who came at 12 to 6 and played bingo darts and killer pool i dont think thats a kids club,the rooms were clean but the condition of them was very bad,broken tiles chipped doors no travel cot on arraivel no clen bed linnen only every other day no bath microwave air con,telly had no english channel the whole place was like falty towers.the lift never worked what a dump,the only nice thing was the pool,i wont be going back

We stayed at the Ipanmea Park for two weeks. On arrival the apartment was unclean and we requested someone come and clean the room. It was the next morning before this was done.
The pool area is lovely and the staff were excellent. The rooms are in great need of some decorating as they are pretty run down. We also experienced problems with ants. Until the rooms have been decorated I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. We requested to keep our room on the last day as we had an evening flight. We were told this was not possible even although there were no new arrivals. We were given access to a shared room where we could have a shower. This room had dirty towels in it and dead insects on the floor.
Overall the staff and location are excellent. The pool is very nice but the rooms require some work.

For the money paid and the 2 star rating these apartments provide good accommodation.
I and my boyfriend went and the room was spacious and had a separate floor for the bedroom and bathroom.
There is only one pool so I recommend getting up early and there are a lot of steps down to the harbour. Close to restaurants and crazy golf and good view over the sea.
Overall a pleasant holiday.

Just back home, had holiday of a life time, basic but very clean apartments,great view of the marina to wake up to every morning, weather was very hot too, would recommend it to any one who does not mind the 166 steps up to it , although taxi’s are very cheap, 2 to 3 euro only local.
The commercial centre is only 20 minutes walk and you will find plenty off restaurants to suite many tongues, myself I preferred San Migels which is the best restaurant in the centre, you’ll notice it is the only one with a queue outside, the others are quant but can be annoying when the haggle you for your custom.
Also enjoyed as much you can eat Chinese restaurant at the end of the centre for 5.98 euros a steal.
Make sure you take a ferry trip to the very pictuesc pot de morgan on Friday mornings its market day and for 10 euro an adult and 5 euro, a child return is a steal too.
Hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did.

Not long back from Ipanema Park. Cannot fault accommodation in any one way. The rooms were very clean, excellent cleaning done five days per week. Lovely staff all-round.
Only downfall for me was the lack of entertainment at night. Other than that, an excellent place to stay. Pool area is spotless with a good size pool, kiddies' pool is a good size also. I would definitely stay in this resort again.
