Picture shown at start of selection process was not the Delta hotel pool!!! Only realised this after I had booked it, the actual pool was very small and only had space for about 8 sunloungers with no room to move them about so you would have had a very sunburned left side... more

Grubby and old fashioned
After just returning from a week at the delta with my partner, we were really dissappointed when we arrived. The hotel itself looks fine from the outside but it is actually very old fashioned and quite grubby. Usually we holiday in Turkey and know the accomodation is very basic, its not a problem as all we do is sleep in the room and go out for the day. The location of the hotel itself is in a great position a nice walk to the restuarants and bars but far enough out not to be in the centre of it all. There is no noise in the hotel at night but the surrounding area is quite noisy and if you are a light sleeper you will be awake for most of the night like i was!! Air con was £20 for a week. The food in the resort was fantastic we didnt have one bad meal i would highly reccomend the dolunay restuarant which is next to big bens which is also very nice. If you fancy an indian one night then you should go to india gate which is past dolphin square up a side street to the right opp a supermarket. If you want to book trips then dont do it through a rep they are alot more expensive you can get good deals around the resort. Ephsus was fantastic also the boat trips were good value for money £5 each a meal included or £10 each all inclusive-beer-wine-soft drinks its a great days entertainment well worth going on. Back to the Delta the bedrooms felt dirty all the rooms are carpeted, the bedding was clean but had lots of stains on, the beds and pillows were hard. The bathrooms were horriable after a shower you still didnt feel clean, the shower curtains were filthy, the shower didnt even stay on the wall and the walls were dirty. The swimming pool was tiny which i was fine about as had read in other reviews this was the case, we did not see the pool being cleaned once, but we used other swimming pools around the resort with no problem at all as long as you buy a drink! The dolunay pool was excellent really nice size and family friendly. I would not stay at this hotel again. The staff however are great could not fault them. Overall enjoyed my holiday but would not return to Altinkum again.DO NOT travel with CROSEUS TOURS absolutly shocking we didnt see a rep once.
A great base for an enjoyable holiday!
I have just returned from a one week stay at the Delta Hotel with my wife. We booked the holiday a little over a week before we went, having seen several positive reviews online. The hotel is basic but, personally, when going on holiday as long as the room is clean, the bed is comfortable and the staff are friendly, I am happy! The Delta Hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff were fantastic: friendly, polite, helpful, happy – most of what is missing back home in many of our hotels! Air conditioning is available for £20 a week – but was well worth it with temperatures reaching the mid 40s each day! You can also pay £10 to have access to a safe for a week. If you are staying for two weeks the price just doubles – there are no special offers! The room that we had was small but very clean and comfortable. It had a large double wardrobe (with loads of hangers), two bedside cabinets (each with a drawer and door) and a dressing table and mirror (also with a drawer). There was a small balcony with two chairs. Unfortunately it looked out onto another hotel and the main road running through the resort. The bathroom had a sink, toilet and shower – again all of which were clean. Also in the bathroom was a hair dryer. Two bath towels and two hand towels are provided. One of the bath towels on arrival was a little stained (probably from suncream) but it was clean. The room was cleaned every day and towels are replaced every three days. We ate breakfast at the hotel most mornings and it was the same choice each day: a Turkish breakfast. Breakfast included: fresh bread (with butter, jam and honey), cucumber, fresh sliced tomatoes, hardboiled eggs, salami, cheese and olives. There is tea and coffee available, as well as fruit juice. If you do want something different there are numerous cafes and restaurants in the resort where you can order breakfast with many offering full English breakfasts – if you prefer that. We did not eat at the hotel on an evening, even though we were half board, as it seemed to get really hot in the dining area and it is inside. Two of the restaurants that I would recommend are Riva, which overlooks the sea and is on the beach front. Another place we went to was Nirmal Café opposite King Arthur’s kebab house (which I would not recommend – as we both were ‘toilet-ised’ after eating there!) on the street that runs past the Riva Restaurant and Buzz Bar. The swimming pool is incredibly small (is open from 9am – 7pm) and there are only a handful of sun beds and even fewer umbrellas. We only used the pool once and it was not as clean as the others that we used in the resort. But, to be fair, it was at the end of the day. There is also a small bar area with seating outside. However, you can go and use any of the other hotels’ swimming pools and we did this several times with no problems. Overall, if you want a hotel that is value for money, clean and has a great team of staff then this is an ideal hotel for you!
staff make the place
Delta hotel is great value for money. The hotel is very basic. Its a great place if u like a relaxing holiday and are in walking distance of all the buzz if u feel like it. I took my teenage son, it was just not the hotel for him. The staff were brilliant, could not fault any of them. This is a place for singles, older couples and young couples. If u have a child i would not recommend it, the pool is too deep and very small and slippery. Would not take my son back to this hotel, but i would go back myself.I enjoyed it. laura glasgow
great holiday
went to the delta hotel was a bit apprehensive with other reviews on different sites the hotel is basic but was clean staff great couldn't do enough for you first time in turkey but already looking for a cheap deal in September made some good friends if you go say hi to taz kaz in the rest of the boys n girls look out for Scots corner at the pool bar loved altinkum great bar restaurant's mamas home cooking funky forest, chinese across the road queens head buzz bar ,
Great
My husband and I have just returned from a 1 week holiday in Altinkum, it was a last min deal which we booked over the internet. We stayed at the Delta which was B&B. They were always helpful, pleasant and always someone around. The rooms are basic but comfy and clean but just depends on what you are wanting. The breakfast was nice, i would not normally have cucumber, melon, toms or olives. There was plenty. The turks know how to enjoy themselves and make every effort to make sure you enjoy your holiday with a turkish night at your place of stay. There was a small pool but you can use any of the other pools at the other hotels. The Delta is a 2 minute walk away from the beach, shops and a Dolmus (bus) are always available. They will help you to learn a little of their language if you wish to learn. They love children which they make a fuss of every time. Tesekkur ederim Delta
Basic but perfect location
The Delta is a great little, family run, hotel at the quieter end of Altinkum. The location is excellent, near to beach, good bar/restuarants all around, we particularly liked the Buzz Bar, which was right on the seafront and had lovely staff. The Delta is within walking, or dolmus ride, of the busier centre of Altinkum but we loved this area. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't large but was perfectly adequate, had small balcony and air-con at suppliment. Breakfast was simple but ok. The hotel bar was very popular in the evenings although we mostly went out. Had read reviews saying visitors had problems with hot water running out. We had no problems at all ourselves. Altogether a great stay. If we return to Altinkum we will definately stay at the Delta.
Very basic
Cheap, but very basic. The Otac hotel opposite had 2 pools, good breakfast and hot water for not much more money. We moved after 2 days. Not a glimmer of any warm water, and they wanted to charge us double to stay on an extra 2 days when our move into oyur apartment was delayed! needless to say we moved and they lost their only guests that week. You can get much better than this for the same or similar money.
Simple but loved it
A very small friendly hotel just a bit basic as it says in brochure simple style thats wat it is, but if u are only lookin for a bed and somewhere to have a shower then this is the place for you. U are about 100 mtrs from the beech and the same for some of the bars like buzz bar and the queens head.... all in all a fantastic holiday i wanna go back ...
not good
We love Altinkum. We have stayed at 2 star hotel here (Marla) in May. Ok, you do not expect a great deal, but we NEVER in the week we were there had hot water, tepid would have been nice but alas nothing. We did complain nicely only to be told that other customers have used it all.....Our 'cold shower ' was a trickle and 2 ladies approaced the management as they said they saw a worker fill the juice up with tap water. They demanded a move and got one, the management and rep said photograghtic evidence was needed to prove this. My husband had a bad tummy and was put on antibiotics as a few more were. What else can we say, I would never go to the Delta again, whereas 'The Marla ' the other end of Altinkum is 2 star but much better, with hot water, and much friendlier staff. A nice little hotel
My wife and I have just returned from a week in Turkey and I can recommend the Delta Hotel if your thinking of visiting Altinkum. The pool is pretty small, but you can use all of the neighbouring hotels' pools. The rooms are very clean and are cleaned every day, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfasts (we went B+B) are substantial. Delta hotel is at one end of the resort, close to first beach, but if you ask at reception, they will call the free minibus service to take you to the better and less busy third beach about ten minutes away. If you have young children, you might want to avoid high season because although the resort is geared towards families, music from the bars close to the hotel goes on til the early hours. The resort itself is very much aimed at English people with prices often in pounds sterling (most places accept sterling at the day's exchange rate) and plenty of english food on offer if that's what youlook for in a holiday. The resort has quite a few bars and a club, but is not for young people as much as for families. If you stay in Altinkum, both Ephesus and Pamukkale are worth visiting, and you should also have a Turkish bath whilst you're there.
