My wife and i stayed at iberhotel, we found the place to be clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room although small had everything we needed and was cleaned daily. The swimming pool was big and the surrounding gardens lovely. Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of selection. The hotel was situated about fifteen minutes walk from alvor town and beach. A courtesy bus operated regularly taking you to the town and beach.
Overall we enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend this hotel to anybody who wants a relaxing break.

Very peacefully situated. Pool area quiet with plenty of sun beds available. Pleasant gardens to have a stroll in, with some wildlife. The staff could do with smiling a bit more!
Room was spotless, but it would have been nice to have tea making facilities. We only had dinner twice in the hotel; I think that speaks for its self!
We would stay again, but only on a bed and breakfast basis.
20 minute walk into the town, where there is plenty of choice fro dining, with a taxi fare back costing 3 Euros 90.

Reading the other comments I wondered if we stayed at the same Hotel. For a 4 star rating there is no room service, try and get a cup of tea in the afternoon. The Bed Has a definite slope to the side.
The walk into Alvor was half an hours walk and to the beach add another 15 mins.
Well worth the 3 euros 40 for the taxi. The Bar was in the evening was pleasant but expensive compared to outside bars. The Barman was a bundle of joy, fantastic company, but however on his days off he was replaced by a Trainee who gave you malt whiskey in a brandy glass and wiped his fingers all round the rim of the glass.
The Meals were always luke warm even if you are first there. Fighting off the German hoards became a game at meal times, they went through the food like a plague of locusts.
To use the Gym you had to pay extra and the same for the Sauna (but it never worked)
But otherwise a pleasant hotel quiet, No children.

This hotel most certainly does not live up to its 4 star rating. The rooms are small, the pool service is none existent. The buffet breakfast was adequate but the hot food selections were invariably tepid. The same applied to the evening meal buffet.
The choice on offer for lunch is ham, cheese, chicken or tuna sandwiches (no chips, pizza or anything substantial) and we even had to wait for 20 min to get a sandwich as the kitchen was closed whilst the staff had their lunch!
The pool area is nice but not enough umbrellas. The staff were pleasant but not enough of them. The hotel was clean and has the potential to provide pleasant accommodation but it is being run on a shoestring and consequently does not provide a good base for the holiday client.

A beautiful new hotel with excellent facilities. The rooms are generous and all feature air conditioning. There is a well sized balcony area overlooking the pool. The pool itself is of a good size.
The hotel is situated a ten minute walk from the centre of Alvor village. It is on a quiet side road yet is still close enough to be part of the village. The beach is also approximately 10 minutes' walk away.
The hotel offers a kids' club, which is based at the Dom Joao II hotel nearby. Children attending the club are collected by minibus and can stay for a morning, an afternoon or a full day session.
The staff at the Alvor Park are attentive and considerate. I would recommend this hotel to families and couples alike.

My partner and I were daunted at the prospect of travelling and staying away from home with our 18 month child last year, plus the fact I was about 7 and a half months pregnant.
I have to say that the Iberotel was fantastic. The room was a fair size with room for a travel cot, all air conditioned and very clean. The staff were lovely and we ate at the hotel a couple of times when we didn't want to venture out.
It is a 20 min walk to the restaurants and shops but it is a nice jaunt with a buggy in tow. The pool was brilliant and the bar provided snacks or lunch and refreshments, the gardens within which the hotel is set also provide lovely surroundings.
It's a great place if you just want to wind down with a lovely mix of European holidayers. I would definately book to stay here again and on reflection rate this as one of the nicest places we've stayed - you have to visit the pizzeria on the sea front (I forget the name), to sit on the roof and watch the sun set over the harbour was simply wonderful.
