Jul 2011, Orla

Am only home from two weeks in this complex. I stayed in a two bed house - very basic however it was spotless. Cleaners every second day with clean towels and sheets. The shop only opened between 8am - 12pm and then from 6 pm to 8 pm so wasnt very practical. The man who ran the pool side bar had no english so was very hard to order food/drinks from him, the life guard Connie was very good and helpful. also the bar closed at 7pm so if you wanted food/drink after that time and had none in apartment then you had to go to town. i had three young children with me and was very disappointed as there was nothing for children and also no entertainment around d pool area night or day which ive had on other holidays. The pool wasn't very safe for children/adults either as it went from the shallow end straight to over 8 foot with one step instead of it gradually getting deeper as you went out. i enjoyed my stay however with my three boys i don't think it was a very ideal place to go....in some aspects i would reccommend it as the houses were massive and spotless but with regards to children no it just wasn't suitable..maybe a week would have been plenty of time to be there....Also the reception closes at 10pm so any time after that you have to use a side gate which was off the street with no lights...if i was on my own i would not like to walk down the side entrance....also there was a key to open the gate and it was very hard to open....

We unfortunately had a burglary

Upon returning from a trip we discovered a burglar had forced a window. The thief took the complete vault. This safe was bolted to the wall, but was torn loose with a big screwdriver.
Of course we did put all our valables in it. Passports, cameras, driver licenses, money. The insurance of Maxorata covers up to 1200 Euro. Not even a third of what we lost.
This happened end of March. Up to now we have not heard a word of Maxorata or the insurance company...

huge apartments

Stayed in a 2 bed apartment which was huge, more like a house,Ive been to corralejo 8 times over the last 10 years and these are by far the best ive stayed in and best value too.
Downstairs has a huge living/dining area, independent kitchen (not a kitchenette ect) a shower room downstairs with sink and toilet, and a huge bathroom upstairs. Both bedrooms were large twins one with a large walk in wardrobe 6x5, the other with a patio door leading to an upstairs sun terrace (theres also a downstairs one). With 2 daughters 23yo and 15yo plus me and my wife 2 bathrooms are a godsend,
The best bit was the staff namely the evening receptionist called Claire, What a girl nothing was too much trouble for this lady, when i mentioned my new fangled ipod station couldnt charge my player she took it and charged it via her computer. when we asked for more pillows they arrived the next morning, she even translated for us when the "english speaking" staff at the chinese takeaway we found in the local whereabouts magazine couldnt understand my Northern accent, a banquet arrived 30 minutes later and she rang to let us know when it arrived. Remember the name Claire, whatever they pay her its not enough.
Pool was large enough and very clean with a snack bar.
Turn left out of reception and 30 yards on right in new complex is Netto for all your groceries very cheap. Town center and all restaurants are 10 minutes walk away.
I have scored it 9/10 for 2 trivial reasons, first only Spanish TV is available although you can hire dvd player and films, secondly reception closes at 11pm, not a problem for us as we arrived 3pm but if you book your flight independently and your arrival is late you might have a problem.
Other than that a fantastic holiday in a fantastic complex. If you decide to stay say hello to Claire From Lee and family.

If you don't check in by 11pm, there...

If you don't check in by 11pm, there is a good chance that you may not get in at all!
My sister and I and my young daughter did not arrive until 1.15 am approx. and could not get in the complex even though my father, who lives in Fuerteventura, had been assured by the guy on reception that the security guard would let anyone in who had arrived after 11pm when the reception is closed. After waiting about 3/4 of an hour we had to go to my parents house for the night. We did not even get a sorry from anyone the next day and they totally refused to offer any sort of compensation.
The complex and accommodation is very basic but reasonable value for the money paid. The pool has quite a few tiles missing from it and the complex generally looks a bit run down. I wish I had paid a bit more money and gone elsewhere where they could afford to pay for more staff and better facilities.

Enjoyed our stay at Maxorata Beach...

Dec 2007, Mrs T Morgan

Enjoyed our stay at Maxorata Beach Apts. Clean and friendly staff, especially the older male receptionist (sorry) didn't get his name but helped us with everything we asked for. A bit noisy of an evening by our surrounding apartments due to the way they're built, apart from that no problems.
The weather was in the mid 70's got a great tan but you do need to wear a cardigan/jumper of an evening as it was breezy. To dine out was cheap enough. No entertainment at apartments but plenty on the main street. Lovely views. Must visit The Bell Tower, traditional singing in the square, wine tasting and at the time of year was decorated for Christmas. Will revisit.

Just back from our holidays. We loved Maxorata Beach. It was clean, relaxed and well located being only a 5 minute walk from the centre of things.
It’s a nice quiet area but was within ease reach of the water park and the beaches. On site facilities were great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool bar food was excellent and inexpensive.
Our accommodation was very good and spacious. Great for families but if you are looking for kids clubs etc you will be disappointed as there is none. It never got overcrowded by the pool making it very easy to keep an eye on the kids and there were never any shortage of sun loungers.
Although the pool could do with a few tiles replacing. We will definitely be back next year.

We stayed in a 3 bed apartment, which was on 2 floors, a huge place with 2 bathrooms, large lounge and kitchen steepish winding stairs, no handrail so watch the kids and infirm.
The showers were in a poor condition, with the 1 hose leaking, but plenty of hot water. One is over the bath, no anti slip mat, quite dangerous potentially. The other shower was a walk in but quite small, anybody over 7 stone would touch the sides!
The kitchen was quite poorly equipped, only 2 pans and a frying pan to cook with, no kettle! The fridge had taken some hammer and didn’t have an ice box door. 2 burner hob but no oven.
Not good for genuine self catering if you want to cook more than basics. Plenty of cutlery and glassses/ cups etc. though.
Electrical appliances can be hired from the reception. Regularly cleaned, to a good standard and new towels 3 times a week (bed linen twice) was good.
Pool was ok, salt water but clear, needs a bit of TLC to the stairs and tiles, enough sun beds to go around if you beat the early morning towel spreaders. Pool bar was good value and good standard, friendly helpful staff.
Check out time is 12.00 noon, their are no separate changing facilities, so if you have a late flight there is no where to have a shower and change after a day out or by the pool before you leave.
They recycle all the foul water to treat the gardens and lawns, this seemed to be applied late at night, so don’t leave your balcony doors/ windows open during the night or you will be sick with the stench!
Games room was very poor, the mini mart was good though, be early for fresh stuff though (closed on Sundays).
Overall though, on balance good value for money.

Stayed in the 2 bed apts, very basic,...

Aug 2006, Mr S S Taylor

Stayed in the 2 bed apts, very basic, had to hire out basics, kettle, toaster, fan etc.
Furniture basic, some slats missing from sofa bed, no shower head fixing in shower, which made it useless, threadbare sheets & pillowcases, lumpy beds. The cleaning was good though.
Pool a disaster area, so full of salt to mask the chemicals, it was like the Dead Sea, all the grab handles at the pool steps were coming out of their cemented over foundations and tiles missing from both the pool & around the pool.
Pool bar was great, really friendly & polite staff, decent food as well. Games room was a room with no games in, "the room that time forgot".
Small supermercados is handy, but you have to be quick in the mornings for the fresh rolls, no papers though.
Handily placed for the Baku water park (although it’s well expensive to get in & eat in etc.)
All in all I wasn't impressed, although it was a "cheapy",it was dear enough for all that we got, I don't think we will be back to this place, or the island (having been to Lanzarote for the past 5 times )

This has to be one of the best...

This has to be one of the best complexes we have ever stayed in. House was very comfortable and spacious and very clean. The pool was lovely and an abundance of pool chairs and umbrellas.
The food at the snack bar was really good and excellent value. Internet access in the reception area is really useful and the games room and laundry area a welcome addition. Welcoming and helpful staff were available to answer any questions we had and were very helpful with local information.
We will definitely be returning for our next sun holiday to Maxorata Beach.
