Grand Hotel

The hotel really offers nice accommodations. The rooms are comfortable, quite and clean. In overall the hotel looks pretty good.
It is also well located with a bus stop in front of the hotel, which takes you downtown Assisi in a couple of minutes. You may not want to rent a car to go downtown Assisi.
The problem with the hotel is the quality of the service. Although the hotel at the time I've been there was empty (maybe due to the winter time) the service was horrible.
First, at the reception they did not pay attention to you and your needs. One of the receptionist replied to our questions with hands (and it is not because she is Italian).
Did not look to the face of customers and if you do not understand her first reply she becomes to be very rude if questioned twice.
At the restaurant it was a complete joke. First at the dinner. The menu was in Italian and one questioned what something means the waiter did not reply back to you.
To pay for the bill I had to 'chase' the waiter at the hotel. He just disappeared during our dinner time.
At the breakfast the waiter was the same. After waiting on the table for 15 minutes to be served, I had to knock at the kitchen asking for someone. The guy came and asked what we wanted.
Normally at breakfast time we want breakfast, but any way, we ordered eggs and he brought yogurt, then we ordered cheese and he brought coffee and so on. At the end a single breakfast took over an hour.
If you are the one, who likes to be respected definitively it is not a place to go. If you are just looking for a nice room to sleep, so no problem.
