Jardins de la Medina Hotel

A relaxing haven from the moped fumed Medina.An unpleasant walk from the souks so taxi there/back.Large,subtropical courtyard with hammocks,good sized pool.Restaurant was,in the main,fussily french without the style.Breakfast was buffet by the pool.Beautiful setting-BUT you compete with hundreds of bees for the fruit and hungry birds who gorge-and defecate-on the bread and brioches.All in all a flawed gem.

We had selected Les Jardins de la Medina because it appeared to have the location and quality of facilities that we were looking for to relax after our journey through the desert. Sadly, this was not our experience. The welcome was underwhelming and the form filling seemed more ardous than in previous accommodation. Beautiful hotel within the old city wall's of Marrakech, if you can afford it go for a superior room which has it's own private sun terrace with lounger's, umbrella and shower to cool off,charming staff at the hotel, it has a very good restaraunt but is pricey compared to many other eating place's in the city. Marrakech is a fascinating place and is well worth visiting, we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of hassle on the street's and from the vendor's in the souk's. All in all a very pleasant place to spend a few day's.

A lovely peaceful haven, hidden behind a wooden door in one of the quieter streets in the Medina in Marrakech. Everything about this hotel was enchanting. It is a Riad in the Medina (Old Town) of Marrakech and, as is typical of this type of accommodation had a lovely central courtyard. My husband and I spent a week in Morocco and ended our trip in Marrakech. We were slightly intimidated by the number or people and motorcycles and donkeys and cars zooming through the Medina at any given moment and were therefore extremely grateful every time we walked inside the serenity of Les Jardins de la Medina. I cant say engough nice things about this place. If you have been toughing it for a while make sure you treat your self here as it is an oasis in the middle of complete Chaos Rooms, bar, lobby, staff, just awsome, not cheap for morroco but cheap compared to western countries When I get the photos developed I will post

I arrived at Les Jardins Dec 27, a.m., Broken shoulder, teenager, husband with cancer and 6 bags> We were exhausted after an all night flight from new york, and an overnight train from tangiers. Despite my Orbitz confirmation printouts I was told I had no reservation ane better yet, We have never heard of Orbitz!!!! Many tears, 3 managers later no room ! Finally after we took up their lobby space quite a while they found us a room at another more expensive hotel.

We stayed at Les Jardins for a week in May. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, booking restaurants, guides,taxis etc. Our privilege room was spacious and shaded with a private patio. The pool is beautiful, surrrounded by sun loungers, palm trees and jacaranda. You can choose to eat inside the restaurant or outdoors overlooking the pool. Breakfasts are very good. We stayed at Les Jardin de las Medina in June this year for a week. On arrival in Marrakech we were knocked over by the heat and the fasinating chaos in the tiny streets on our drive to the hotel and from the outside of the hotel you wouldnt even know it existed but once inside the smart wooden door we entered cool peace and tranquility. We stayed for four nights here and were very happy with the hotel. It is the only hotel in this particular part of the Medina which makes you a bit of a target for over eager shopowners, but that is the only complaint. Our room was spacious and pretty, the bar was fun, the restaurant very good and reasonably priced and the pool gave a very welcome break from the heat. We got a great deal with four nights for the price of three, by booking direct in August 2004. Definitely recommended!
