this was my best holiday ever! i traveled with a family of 3 an 11 year old child, an adult and a senior
the staff were SOOOO friendly and the rooms are sooo clean and there is entertainment for 11am to 3pm in the afternoon and then there is entertainment from 8:30pm til midnight
we got a 2 week pass for portaventura because it is much cheaper and we went at night time because its to warm in the day to go on the rides
we went to the fire show, western show and polinisan dancers and it was amazing!
we went to aquapolis twice and had and had a great time the dolphin and sea lion show is amazing!
the beach is a 5 mintues walk from the hotel and its a lovely beach!
i was reading reviews about the pool being to small but i thought it was big enough and at 2pm everyday there was a game of water polo
DONT USE THE LIFTS!
5 ppl got stuck in it for 30 mintues and they were struggling to breathe and when you go in it they jump about like bad
we went to uncle sams the night before we left and it was gorgeous and it wasnt expensive
anyways we had a fabulous holiday and the weather was excellent!
would definately go back

this is a carry from alison in scotlands reveiw i have been to cap salou before with thomas cook which was next door to the vanvouver apartments 6 years ago while we were there ontario was being built. firstly the hotel like most are family hotels kids running around enjoying themselves and adults soaking up the sun so a good atmosphere. while we stayed there the entertainment was not brilliant as the entertainer couldnt speak english and the same cd every night drove us mad so we took upon ourselves to go out and had a look at the salou sunclub hotel excellent entertainment better facilities an in house restaurant etc etc i have just looked on the internet for next year and the sunclub salou is cheaper than the ontario so sorry to say ontario is not good value for money have a shop around you will find better beleive me you will read reviews on here saying how brilliant the hotel is well it isnt that bad just a no frills hotel and they stated the towels etc would be changed on certain days and that didnt happen maybe we are a small percentage of the unlucky ones that were bypassed due to lazy cleaners i dont know but overall if you are looking for a no frills holiday lying around the pool all day then thats good the pool was clean with a guard at all times i have give the hotel a 4 only because i know there is better and cheaper in salou/cap salou hope this review helps you out the vancouver apartments were excellent the thomas cook reps couldnt bend over backwards more for you im afraid our rep matty seemed a monotonous and was dressed scruffy (soory matt you need to clean yourself up)

where exactly do i start? nothing about this hotel is very good i'm afraid.
first things first, there were 6 to our party consisting of 3 adults and 3 children. when we all arrived at the hotel, it looked very pleasant which only fuelled all of our excitement what was to come of our expectations of the holiday.
when we checked in we were asked for a 100 euro's for the deposit (which i thought was pretty steep) 60 euro's is usually the most i have paid to stay at a hotel in spain. our room wasn't ready which i expected anyway, we only had an hour and a half to wait, so our luggage was stored in a room within the lobby.
when we got to the room, we found it to be very clean, stocked with clean towels, and spacious.
we got told that the room would not be cleaned or fresh towels supplied on tues and thurs, but the staff did not keep to the days they specified which was very frustrating. so sometimes we had to go without clean towels, emptying of the bins, toilet roll, and general cleaning of the rooms (which by the way they never cleaned the room the whole time we were there)
we arrived on a fri, and on the sat i had bought a hairdryer as there wasnt one provided in the bathroom (usually there is). the hairdryer i bought wasnt working so i left it the room to box back up later to return to the shop and went down to the pool. on our return, i found that the cleaner had "took" the receipt which was on the counter and the box!!! i went straight to the reception to complain that a cleaner could come into your room and take or "bin" a receipt that was not their property. shouldnt have bothered as the woman on the front desk couldnt understand that i had "bought" the hairdryer and not rented it from the hotel. had to wait till the monday to complain to the rep that i wanted the money that i paid for it, or a new hairdryer as i couldnt take it back to the shop without the receipt.
on the monday when we saw the rep "matty" i explained what had happened but, was told to wait till he had talked to the other guests first. in the meantime another rep came in who was the rep from my hotel in april 2010 at the medditerean H10 down the street from the ontario (MUCH better hotel) anyway she sorted it out for me.
when it comes to the entertainment (very poor) the guests were left to their own devices, usually listening to the same "old" cd, which we thought was pretty disgusting! we had no entertainment at all except that same cd and sometimes bingo that we couldnt understand as the guy calling the numbers wasnt english. for 3 whole nights we endured that until we got smart and went to another hotel for our entertainment which was brilliant!! it was called the sunclub right next to the med H10. better internet speeds, better pool tables, just better everything.
i know what you'll be thinking when you read this, "why am i being so down on this hotel". well i can tell you that i have stayed in a lot of hotels, and this is by far the worst experience ive ever had.
the only good thing was the weather (fantastically hot!) and the pool where we spent a lot of our time till it came to the night time, when we went to another hotel for our entertainment. i can recommend the pool in this hotel, and im afraid thats it!
cap salou beach was lovely as was salou beach. the little shops were brill too. the scenery was breathtaking at times as well. the only thing is that you have to have a lot more money as things were quite expensive. i bought my usual mags that i buy in scotland and some of them are only 68p here. in spain they were 2 euro's 25 cents, that is really greedy to charge that much for a mag. i only bought a few and didnt get any after that. daylight robbery it was.
all in all, the weather was tops, the entertainment at the sunclub hotel was brilliant, the beaches were beautiful, and spain was breathtaking to look at and be in. but, the ontario was not a good place to have a holiday in, and i will not be staying there ever again.
"BE WARNED!!"

Just had a fantastic week at the Ontario Appartments. All the reviews i read before i went were acurate. The accomodaion was very clean and spacious with towels changed and beds made 6 days out of 7. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The supermarket is just outside the hotel reception and is well stocked and reasonable. It is a very steep hill down to cap salou beech and bars but the bus service into Salou or any where along the coast is excellent. Definitly buy a bus card for 20 euros. You can go on any 20 journeys from Tarragona to Cambrils which would cost a lost more individually. Camp Nou stadium tour well worth going to but one afternoon in Barcelona was enough in 37 degree heat. Shame but would visit Barcelona again in the autumn or spring. Could not fault Thomas Cook package or the appartments.

Got back from our hols on mon 02/08/10 thought the accomodation at the ontario apartments was excellent
with the rooms spacious clean and cool the staff in the bar and reception were very helpful and had a great
sense of humour the only down side even though sammy was very enthusiastic and always polite the evening entertainment was too monotinous and didn"t cater enough for adults but all in all a very relaxing and enjoyable
time. Thanks to Matty our rep for the excellent local info

This holiday was amazing!!!!!
Our party consisted of 5 people; 2 over 40's, one 18 year old (me), a 17 year old, and a 14 year old. We stayed at the Ontario Apartments for 2 weeks, based on Self-Catering.
When we got to the Apartments, there was a small group of other families who had travelled with us on our flight who were waiting to be allocated to their rooms. Although we had to wait about 4 hours to get into our room (as it was one of the bigger apartments, they had a lot more to clean), the receptionist lady was very friendly, told us to leave our luggage in the baggage room, and do whatever we wanted to do: we ended up having pizza and chips at 10.30am!!
The apartment itself was huge!
All of the rooms were very spacious, great kitchen and bathroom, and a big balconay over-looking the outside seating area and pool. The beds were comfy, (although mine was very squeaky), TV was in Spanish (and German MTV for some reason). Kitchen had all of your plates, cutlery, etc. The Maid came and cleaned every day, except Thursdays and Saturdays, and provided clean towels every day, made the beds, changed the bins, and changed the beds once a week.
Right next to the enterance to the Apartments was the Supermarket. Here, they sold all of your basics: bread, milk, beans, etc. Loads of well-known British labels, so there isnt any reason to take food with you (apart from Marmite). They also sold a great deal of alcohol, fresh fruits, and had an instore bakery, that sold fresh baguettes, crossiants, and loads of doughnuts and cakes :D
The apartment facilities were excellent. The swimming pool (which a few reviews have said is too small), was just the right size. Plenty of sunbeds for all, and a small "box" for drinks and ice-lollies, etc. The pool was purified every night, and the pool area cleaned every morning. Pool openeing hours: 10am-7pm.
The reception area was well presentable. There was a notice board, telling you what entertainment was going on each night, and the Thomas Cook reps desk, with a folder with information about day trips, local sights, etc.
The bar area was quite spacious, had 2 pool tables, 2 computers with internet access, and plenty of tables and chairs. Although there seemed to be air-con, it did get quite hot in there during the hottest parts of the day, as there was a heat-wave when we went. All the drinks are very reasonably priced, and there was Happy Hour, 8-9pm, with Buy-One-Get-One-Free on soft drinks, local ales, and Sangria. All the food was very good value for what was given. The food at the apartments was quite British orientated, with Fry-Up breakfasts', fish n' chips, and pizzas. The outside seating area was very spacious, and this is where the main hub-ub of evening entertainment happens, unless the weather is bad.
The entertainment itself was average. The first week we were there, we had a Spanish woman doing the entertainment, as the entertainment manager was off sick. She spoke very little English, and there was a great lack of communication between her and the guests. Nearly every night, she tried to play B.I.N.G.O, where we had to guess the numbers, as she didnt know many in English. The second week, however, the Entertainment was much better. Omar, the guy who had previously been off sick, played pool games most days, dance routines for the kids at night, and spoke very good Engligh. After the entertainment had finished at 12, he came and spoke with some families, and the staff didnt try and rush you off back to your rooms: it was so relexed. The karaoke company (which may change) was okish, but their system kept on cutting out. At the end of the evening, you could buy a DVD for 5Euros with "All of the nights performaces on a 3 hour disc". We got the DVD's both times it was there. When we got home, we were quite disappointed to see that the disc only played from the point after they had restored power to their system, so all performaces before then were non-existant. The karaoke people spoke very little English also. Every few nights, they bought in different performers. There were bell-dancers, a "magician" and a parrot show.
Cap Salou itself was great for night life. There was about 8 bars/resturants in the village, which was about 5 minutes walk away from the Apartments, although it does involve a very steep hill. All of the bars were English, with very friendly staff in there. Again, drinks and food are reasonably priced. There were a couple of gift shops, and a larger supermarket.
All staff, in the hotel, the resturants in Cap Salou, and the Thomas Cook rep, were very friendly, and spoke perfect English. A very good holiday! A great place for groups of young people to stay.

The name's Chris, im 16 and from Ireland, Belfast. I hadnt been on holiday in a while. I had an unreal time at this hotel, very helpful staff and cleaners everyday, the entertainment at night was enjoyable, there was shows and events nearly every night. There was also 2 pool tables which was such craic messing about on. The appartment had an amazing view over the trees I suppose :). The Hotel is just 5 minutes walk into cap salou and around 20 minutes to salou. The hotel is also quite close to Port Aventura. By the Way you get on the Dragon Khan Roller Coaster at your own risk (Its MAD). I also met a couple of friendly girls staying at ontario and forgot to get a phone number or even an email, oops :S . Anyway I would recomend this hotel and if u want to know anything from a happy costomers point of view feel free to email me on: cricky885@hotmail.com Good luck and hope you enjoy as much as I did. Just Back From The Ontario Apatments in Cap Salou With My Family , The hotel Was Very Clean and Maid Came Every 2 Days or so With Clean Towels etc , and Staff delt with any problems we had . Although the food was rubbish not much choice available, the prices were very dear and no kids option , the entertainment was the worst part of the holiday, their was only one person he was a nice guy , very down to earth but he hardly spoke any english and played the same cd over and over again for the whole 2 weeks we were there , everyone was sick of it . The staff were very plesent and the hotel in general was very clean, the only thing was you could not make any noise in the appartments after 12 which wasnt good for young people like myself and families who wanted to enjoy themselfs . there was nothing for young children to do during the day . Cap salou is a nice little town although this just wasnt the holiday for me . i dont think i would return to this hotel due to the entertainment and area.

holiday was with my sister and my neice. met by friendly first choice rep steve. apartment was very clean and linen towels etc were provided and replaced every two days. any problems we had were dealt with immediately. ie]cracked leg on a chair. staff were very friendly and helpful. entertainment was very good. sammy was very communicative with all who stayed here. he got to learn first names and knew who everyone was. andre kept a watchful eye by the pool making sure there were no mishaps. we only ate here twice and it was enjoyable. shop just outside main door stocked something to suit everyone. the ontario apartments are very family friendly and have a kids club as there was lots of kids here. all in all we had a fab time and im going back to these apartments within the next few months. this time im taking quite a few of my family with me.

we were not happy with he appartments as when we got there our room had no safty deposit box,no air con, window would not shut and lock, the cooking facilitys are crap a 2 ring stove to cook for 8 people not enough,no bedding changed which is discussting, then decided to move us to another room which was a little bit better but still only got 2 ring stove still no bedding changed that for 2 weeks, then the toaster broke it kept blowing electrics so i told them can we have another they said we had got to hire one what a laugh,do not recamend going to these appartments only if you dont mind what you stay in.the view was poor looking at another hotel no view
