Ontario Apartments

Went with 2 children my wife and my wife’s parents. The apartments were to a basic size quite big in some places however, we arrived early morning hours and could not find a light switch because the travel company or reception would not tell us where they were in the corridors. So when we eventually got to our room after causing disruption in the hotel due to ringing peoples doorbells that look like the light switches, we got to our room and we have a faulty air conditioner and 2 lights out nearly the lot including the bathroom that worked.
Then the 6th bed was a camp bed which was stated but we had two singles that were both broke pushed together to make double where we fell down the middle most nights. Needless to say the kids would not sleep in there room because ants were everywhere and they had no lighting.
We didn't get sleep because of problems and because of air con it was too hot to do so we waited the night out. Morning, went shopping for some food to cook (self catering). We had no oven, a faulty toaster a microwave that some-one had burnt and a kettle that wasn't electric so we had to use 1 of 2! gas hobs.
Also included was a fridge freezer and a sink. But, again we couldn't cook for six of us and any food we did have was raided by ants and the cupboards were too dirty and stunk too much to put anything in them.
A number more faults there were in the hotel there’s too many to explain e.g broken lifts that you’re already in, then they suddenly tell you it’s broken when the doors close, reception can't change your money up when you want dinner because they’re having dinner (24 HOURs!!!).
The entertainment was NOT family friendly most of the things said were 18 upwards, for transfer days you had a luggage room the size of the bathroom in the apartment and 2 toilets with no showers or nothing between the whole hotel, not enough toilet roll, cleanliness of room floor was terrible however towel change and bed change was good but tight on toilet paper between 6 of us for 2 days (2 SMALL rolls).
To add to this the balcony faces a mud heap and a tree and don't look out because there is rubbish there, thongs, towels, everything cats, rats, bats! it was dreadful. Don't go to sleep until 12 as the entertainment is booming!
The rep helped a lot! JOKE! First Choice offered no other room only a week in the holiday when it was of their benefit because some-one was situated in the noisy part (above the entertainment) which we didn't want so we said no and the reception was no help what so ever, they were ignorant looked and spoke to you like dirt and overall were really bad.
Also one last thing and I’m sure I forgot some more problems we had because they were one after another but on airport day it rained for us, we got soaked and asked reception just for a towel as ours were in the luggage room which we could not get in. There was no showers and they only gave us 1 towel between 6 of us and we asked for 1 each or at least 3 because after how wet we were the towel was soaked.
Reception gave us 1 more and said No. Not only that, at 12 the bar area shuts so they sling you out only into the reception area where there’s no seating other than 1 chair where the rep sits and the receptionists chair.
We got thrown out our room 10am Tuesday and our pick-up time was 1:10am Wednesday early morning and you tell me how were supposed to wait around all that time with no seats, no nothing!
I'm sorry but first choice really need to look over this as a number of people have backed us up and were having a go at the rep with us about the state of the hotel and they all said the same thing.
It has ruined our holiday as Salou is a fantastic resort and a great theme park and excursions (not reps prices, booked own) that are great.
The only good point with the hotel was the pool even though it don't get cleaned. Ontario and first choice need to sort something out because I will not pay a lot of money to have my holiday ruined which it was and the holiday was the dearest one we've been on and the hotel is not 3 keys and 3 stars its basically a tip.

This holiday was the best holiday I have ever been on! I am 18 years old and really enjoyed this holiday.

The staff
Altogether they were friendly and kind they made us feel accepted. The reps were great they tried to get everybody involved and were popular with all children, teenagers and adults.
The entertainment
It was fantastic, all though the day they were different activities to join in with for all ages and the kids club was also good. At night there is always bingo on before the entertainment which is fun. The night entertainment attracts everybody. There is singing, dancing, acting and much more to enjoy. If you are worried about the entertainment lasting and keeping you up it stops at a reasonable time and the bar closes, if you continue to make any noise then the staff do ask you to be quieter. From the night entertainment you can then go in to Salou for night life or just 2 minuets down the road there is a fabulous club which is friendly and fun for the younger people which closes at 3. For the more senior people there are a lot more pubs and bars that are very welcoming and have a lot of area for the children to play in with trampolines and arcades etc.
The accommodation
We stayed in a three bedroom apartment and it was great there everything you need to cook clean and the room also had a satellite television. The apartments are very spacious and are kept clean and tidy by the maids. The pool wasn't as good as I expected it was going to be for my age. It isn’t that big and is full of children but there are enough sun loungers for everybody.
The area
The locals were very friendly and kind and willing to help you and most of them could understand you. If you want to travel to the water park or in to Salou there are great buses that have air conditioning and come very often and run all hours and are also very cheap.

Went with 3 children and my husband. Have to say apartment was a lovely size but cleaning standards were terrible, took 9 nights to have sheets changed often ran out of towels and toilet roll, when cleaners did come in gave the floors a look lf the brush not a mind a mop. But to add injury to insult the kitchen surfaces were crawling with ants. It was absolutely filthy the cupboards were never cleaned out and don't think they ever will!
The staff were also very unfriendly and not accommodating. If you want a quiet holiday forget it the noise starts early morning with music blaring around the pool until midnight and then you are subjected to the comings and goings of the hotel to the rear with police cars arriving all hours of the night
Needless to say I will never be going back to Ontario but will stay in cap Salou again.

My friends and I have just got back from Salou and can't wait to go back. We had a fab time. As there were 7 of us we had two apartments, both apartments were very clean and spacious. The apartments are a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and very close to the shops and restaurants.
We would recommend 'The Paddock' the staff there were very helpful and the food was fantastic.
We did venture into the centre of Salou on a couple of occasions. We would recommend Snoopy's nightclub if you wanted to go clubbing, the club plays rnb hip hop and dance.
My friends and I also went on many excursions- we booked our Barcelona trip through the bus planners on the side of the street as it was alot cheaper than doing it through the rep. We also went to Portaventura, we all had 14 day passes but you would be able to fit the theme park and the water park into 2 days.
Overall our holiday was fantastic and the apartments were fab the only thing we could say anything bad about was the receptionist at the apartments 'Cecilia' she was very unhelpful and we always felt like what ever we asked was too much trouble for her, but other than that the apartments are great they are situated in a great place and I believe them to be one of the best in Cap Salou.

These apartments are fantastic. We are a family of 6, and the 4 kids always had something to do. The staff were fantastic and the barman Ishmal especially. First choice reps were great, we arrived with them as our reps and left as our friends.
The entertainment was fantastic, something different every night. We all enjoyed the walk into Salou, as it was by the sea. All in all these apartments were fantastic, really clean and there is plenty of shops nearby to buy provisions or you could eat the lovely meals in the hotel.
I wanted to return there again this year, but the other half wanted to try somewhere different. If you read this Tony & Michelle from Barnsley, it would be great to get in touch again! I recommend these apartments to everyone.

We thought these were excellent apartments, they were very clean and spacious. However the music at the pool was very loud and we could hear it up in our room but it did stop at 12.00. There was plenty of entertainment for children but there could have been a bit more for adults at night.
It's only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Cap Salou were there are some shops, pubs and restaurants. We thought the Crows Nest was a good pub as there was entertainment at night.
Tip: Don't buy tickets for Barcelona off the Reps as you can get the same trip for a lot less in the ticket booth by the bus stop which is only two minutes away.

My boyfriend and I had a great time at these apartments. The rooms were very spacious and extremely clean with an excellent terrace, there was well stocked kitchen area (Kettle, toaster, saucepans, frying pans, fridge freezer, and a two ring electric cooker etc) Everything that you really need for a self catering holiday.
The pool was very clean and a great place for kids to have fun, there was also a paddling pool for very young children and a great Jacuzzi. Everyday there was an entertainer by the pool to play music and games with the children and bingo for the adults etc. If you and your family want to have a change from the pool there is a great beach about 1o minutes walk from the hotel. On the beach is a snack bar, jet ski's, banana boat, peddle boats etc, there is a lot to keep you occupied!
The hotel itself is approx 5 minute walk to a couple of local bars and restaurants, with activities for children, trampoline, arcades etc but you can get a taxi from the hotel for about 7 euros to go to Salou which is a lot more lively.
In Salou there are a lot of restaurants, clubs, pubs etc its a great place if you want a night life holiday. Some clubs do not shut till 7am! but also a great place for the family.
When we were staying at the Ontario we purchased a ticket to go to the local water park (aquopolis). It was 25 euros for adults and a bit less for children. The water park was AMAZING, there was a variety of rides for both adults and children, Dolphin and sea lion show. There was plenty of places to eat and also lock ups for you belongings. If you go to this park we would advise you to try out "The Black Hole" (be advised that the yellow rubber rings you can purchase there for 6 euros will not enable you to go on this ride, you have to wait at the bottom for the 2 man rings to change hands, also we recommend not to purchase the yellow rubber rings as there are plenty of free blue ones about the park).
Overall our holiday in Cap Salou, Ontario apartments was great! Personally we would say that the apartments are a family complex. If me and my boyfriend had children we both agreed that this would be the place to go!

I had the best time in these apartments; it was superb from the moment I stepped off the bus to the moment I stepped back onto the bus to come home.
The staff were very friendly, many things to do entertainment during the day and evening, there’s a bar and a lovely clean swimming pool. Well worth the money never had any bad experiences in the apartment hotel it was lively at night but once the patio doors shut the noise is blocked out. Lovely clean rooms good layout. Has lift facilities which is good as I was on 3rd floor.
Would recommend this apartment/hotel to anybody who would like a holiday in Salou/Cap Salou, and it is suited for families also.
The only thing I can doubt on is the lack of English that the receptionist could talk, but then again it is mainland Spain and their language is Spanish no to doubt though as they were VERY HELPFUL.

I had a terrible time in these apartments. We had been allocated a room that happened to be above the bar and from 7pm - 2 or 3am every night we were kept awake by screaming and shouting (mostly caused by the so called entertainment company).
I asked for 4 days running to get another room and the rep thought it was clever to offer me one with a huge crack in the patio door, I have a toddler and was never going to accept.
I am still in the middle of a complaint with the travel company. Avoid this place like the plague if you like some peace. If on the other hand you love drinking till all hours with your children you will be right at home.

It was the best holiday I’ve been on and I’ve been on a lot.
Of this holiday there was alot for the children to do, kids Clubs kids pool and kids entertainment. There also was adults pool and adults entertainment. The reps the’re fantastic the entertainers had so much confidence and were brilliant all through the holiday. It was so close to the beach and to the town centre the view from our
Apartment was brilliant the accommodation was lovely the bathroom was spectacular nice and clean the cleaners came everyday to clean the apartment and change the towels and the linen.
The weather was lovely all through the holiday there wasn’t a single day that it was cold or to hot.
