We traveled to Spain in august 2005, this was the best holiday in my ENTIRE life!
I'm 11 and I’ve been on lots of holidays... but none were like this one.
When we arrived, my suitcase had been lost in transport and all I had was the clothes on my back (and legs, arms and so on).
It was an excruciating first day, but when we entered the apartments, it made up for the whole thing! The apartments were very well kept and the service was perfect. There was plenty of storage and there was a television! In the bathroom there was many accessories such as shampoo, conditioner, shower caps and soap.
I would give anything to go back to Spain, it made my life worth while.
GO TO ONTARIO APARTMENTS!!

Well I've just read some of the comments that people have made on here about Ontario apartments, and cannot believe some of the comments that people made.
First of all this holiday is far from expensive! And I think that it was brilliant for the money we paid. I went with 5 of my friends and we all had a brilliant time.
The accommodation was lovely a clean, and also spacious too. And as for the air con, it worked brilliantly when you leave it on (and keep all doors open) when you go out during the day and then when you come back its nice and cool inside.
The cooking facilities/kitchen was adequate - we managed to make a meal only twice in the two week that we were there but that was only due to the fun that we were having!
But you can make a decent dinner there...beacause we made chicken curry! Oh and a full English!
We only had one clothes rail to dry our clothes on, but when we asked for another one they didn’t hesitate to give us it.
As for the maid we didn’t really want anyone to come into the apartment, so when she came round we just asked if we could change the bedding our selves, which pleased both of us.
The pool is a good size, it’s not huge but it’s an ok size and good enough to make friends! The entertainment I think was very good; all of the reps were brilliant and fun too.
They never used bad language in front of the children but they did say things that the children didn’t understand but the adults did. The games were great because they weren’t just for the children they were for the adults too.
The beach was literally a 5minute walk from the hotel, there was a supermarket right next to the hotel. That was really handy. And there was brilliant restaurant called Treasure Island that served delicious food at delicious prices!! The steak and chips was great!
The buses were good because they were always on the go. Even if you went out at night into town the buses were running till early hours in the morning. Salou was a lovely place to shop.
Over all I think that the holiday me and my friends had was brilliant and we all loved every minute of it. That’s why I have booked it again with some other friends
A 10/10 holiday.

This was our first holiday with two children aged 4 and 2.
I cannot complain about the apartment as it was clean and tidy, which I am fussy about! I had no frying pan etc and they did give these to me, when I asked for them.
The entertainment was awful. Terrible. The children were bored.
There was a kids club for an hour during the day and an hour at night, which was not sufficient to keep them busy.
The food was absolutely awful. They had burgers and chips etc at bar but they were disgusting.
The play park for the children had glass on the sand. I did complain but it did not work.
Nothing to do all day unless you wanted to spend a fortune!

We visited these Apartments in 2005 - we thoroughly enjoyed it! There were 6 of us - 2 adults, 4 teenage children.
The apartments were clean and well looked after. The staff were friendly, there were well stocked shops within a couple of minutes walk, and the pool was a reasonable size, was watched all day by a lifeguard and had plenty of sunloungers.
There was a €50 Euro deposit required on arrival that was refundable on departure - provided you don't break anything. You also only get a 2 ring hob (I think!) and a microwave combi grill - no oven.
But as long as you don't decide to try to cook anything too adventurous you should be OK!
The hotel is far enough away from the town to be quietish - the only noise was really from the entertainment in this and the hotel next door - this wasn't overly loud and finished at a reasonable time.
It is walking distance from a couple of decent beaches - a longer walk (or a bus ride) to the main beaches in Salou.
For a family holiday I would give this 9/10 - we're going back there this year we enjoyed it so much!

I’m a young lad and I thought that the Ontario apartments were great. The staff and the rooms were top notch.
The apartments are situated in the cap Salou area, where you can walk 2 mins down the road and you get to bars and restaurants.
10 mins taxi gets you into the town where there are great nightclubs and bars. The night life is great and nightclubs stay open to around 4 and 5 in the morning.
Overall Salou is quality and would recommend this for the young or even a family holiday.

This was our first family holiday ever, so as you can imagine we were all a bit apprehensive because we have 5 kids ranging from 10 down to 1.
September was a lovely time to go and is still very warm. The accommodation is excellent and very spacious. Exceptionally clean and the maid service was very good also. And as the saying goes if the kids enjoy it then you’ll enjoy it and that we did, so much that we have booked it again the day after we came back.
It is very safe and away from the main road so you can relax knowing that the kids are either in the kids club, highly recommended, or playing in the kiddie pool under the watchful eye of the lifeguard. This is a must for people looking for a quiet but enjoyable holiday with all the amenities of the busier resort of Salou itself, which is only 5 mins by local bus.
So go for it, you won’t regret it. There are plenty of bars and restaurants also only 2 min walk from the Ontario apartments. a must see is the aquapolis water park with something for all ages including g a bar and food outlet which is in the opposite direction to Salou. Just 5 mins by bus to la pineada beach and cross the road and your there.
This has got my vote 10/10. So it’s well worth a visit you wont be disappointed.

When I went to Ontario apartments in Salou in September I really enjoyed it. I am 17 years old and went with 4 friends all about the same age we like the hotel but felt that the fact we had to leave a 100 Euro deposit which we weren’t told about was wrong.
The staff were great and there English was fantastic they made you feel welcome. The one problem was that the entertainment ended at 12 this was a shame, as most people there wanted to stay up later then, the outside lights went off about an hour after that.
Salou was a short bus ride away which was helpful as we went a couple of times and the water parks port aventurer and Aquopolis are amazing. They both have to be seen as there is something for everyone.
This holiday was great but I advise anyone who is going there soon to make sure you have 100 Euros with you when you arrive as this is needed.

I have just got back from my fantastic holiday in Salou and I would just like to say to anyone who did not like the apartments, you are too snobby for them.
The entertainment was great, had lots of confidence and got all the adults involved in kids fun time and any other activity that was going on. The entertainment was provided day and night and wad great to have.
The kids reps were really nice with my cousin and helped her make new friends and she really enjoyed it and didn’t want to leave the bugs bunny club or the entertainer at the end of the holiday.
The apartments were cleaned regularly and clean towels, linen etc was always provided.
The food was excellent, not a great variety but good for a snack or something light to eat.
I would definitely recommend this holiday to anyone who is thinking of going on this holiday. It is brilliant. Honestly!

I have just come back from a fantastic holiday at the Ontario apartments and I didn't want to leave.
The accommodation is clean, tidy and spacious. The maids came 5 days a week and we always had plenty of towels provided for us, they are also very friendly and chatted to our 3 year old when they came in.
The staff were all very helpful and were always smiling and happy to chat, especially the bar staff who would always take time to listen to our son when he tried to get free ice creams from them!! The entertainment staff were lovely and made sure they got everyone involved with the entertainment (but weren't too pushy!)
The location of the apartments were ideal for us as it's a short bus ride into Salou which was good as I think it would have been too busy/loud for us in the centre. The public transport is excellent, if you see a bus pass you and think you've missed it another is there within 5 minutes anyway.
I would recommend the Ontario apartments to anyone and if we were to visit Salou/Cap Salou again we would definitely go back to this accommodation. Thank you Ontario for helping us have a great holiday!

Just returned today from the Ontario apartments in Cap Salou .I traveled with my family to these apartments and I would not recommend them to anyone. The apartments are supposed to have air con but there is only a unit in the kitchen area which is supposed to do the whole apartment. Take my word, it doesn’t work. The apartment itself was clean and supplied with the very basic cooking equipment. It would not be possible to cook a meal there as there are only 2 rings and a microwave and it would take forever to cook for a family.
Our apartment was cleaned regularly but other people seemed to have terrible problems with cleaning, ant invasions, lack of toilet paper. The "entertainment" consisted of bingo, deal, no deal, and was of a very poor standard. By the sixth night I never wanted to hear the word bingo again, the music blared loudly till midnight and people stayed out drinking until 2am with kids running wild. This is the ideal place if you want to drink all day and into the early hours and are willing to let your kids do whatever they want to. I saw several teenagers drinking openly in the hotel and no notice passed by parents or hotel staff.
We booked a trip to Barcelona through the rep which cost 60 euros each and it was poor value. For your money you got a rapid tour of the Nou Camp Stadium, a 10 min visit to the Gaudi church, a visit to an aquarium and a visit to the fountains at night, but you can do the same thing by public transport for half the price. Also booked tickets for Port Aventura through the rep and they are the exact same price at the gate. Beware of the 3 2 1 deal which requires you to visit the park two days ,one straight after the other which is in the small print.
Cap Salou is a nice resort but Ontario apartments are poor. I was lucky but some of the other guests I spoke to had the holiday from hell, ( ants, dirty apartments, noisy neighbours till 4 a.m, kids ringing the doorbells at all hours). Not to be recommended.

APARTMENTS
The apartment was surprisingly spacious. There were 4 of us in a 2 bed apartment and being that 2 of them were under 5, we found the apartments fine. We chose a low floor away from the entertainment and it was not our best decision.
I think being entertainment side would have been better as that finished at 12 whereas the 'teenage crew' enjoyed being at the front until about 2am ! Also, we had the noise from above which sometimes was awful. The apartment had air con which was great but wasn't aware of the 100 Euro deposit when we arrived (and they only accept cash). Unlike some of the other reviews, our room was kept to a clean standard with everything working and usually a float of 3 toilet rolls.
The cooking facilities were disappointing and made it difficult to eat in as much as expected. Just for measure, it is worth mentioning that although the apartment officially slept 6 (which we had to pay a £600 supplement for), there was only cutlery for 5! On checkout day, we had paid for late checkout which was at 5pm instead of 10am. This still wasn't great with 2 small kids and was told before the holiday that we could have it until we leave, which was not the case.
The small park for the children was great for the kids and there was the option of kids club, the entertainment reps and the pool for them. We were a little disappointed that the pool was closed at 7pm but the entertainment started around that time. It was disappointing to see holiday makers putting towels on sun beds and not turning up until the afternoon.
The food in the hotel was not good at all. We did try it twice, and on both occasions it was pretty awful.
STAFF
We found the staff within the hotel to be very polite and helpful without exception.
The entertainment reps were very good and yes, they were selling bingo twice a day but nothing is compulsory. Some of the evening entertainment we saw was great for both adults and children. The reps did occasionally speak on a more adult level, however, it is personal choice whether you keep your child up that late.
The kids club reps were very good also, and although we didn't use it a great deal, our son seemed to be pleased with it. I found the holiday reps to be okay but not great. They were fine when discussing anything positive, but with anything negative, became abrupt and evasive.
AREA
The apartments are situated in a great place with a mini supermarket right next door which baked fresh baguettes and croissants every day. They are walking distance between Cap Salou and La Pineda and a short bus ride from Salou. There is an abundance of things to do in this area. There is Port Adventura, Caribe Water Park, Aquapolis water park (dolphin show), Barcelona, Zoo, Aquarium and Tarragona. All of these things easily accessible.
OVERALL
We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and so did the kids! The apartments were about their level for the star rating so we knew it would be a comfortable base. The noise was a little much which meant some sleep loss which after 2 weeks became a little annoying.
We had about as many days out as we did by the pool which was a great variety.
We would stay at this resort again, only next time, perhaps the top floor??
We would certainly return to the area.

Our family of 4 and the mother in law stayed here. The apartment was spacious and clean. Room service good.
We found the staff very helpful one of the receptionists (Veronica) excellent, polite, spoke good English, she taught me some Spanish and put me onto some good wines.
We catered mainly ourselves, the cooking facilities are limited but we got by fine. Good supermarket next door best in area. Nice bit of exercise walking to beach at the Cap, choice of eateries there as well.
Don’t be afraid to get the bus to Tarragona it’s a good service, plenty to see and do. The entertainment was a bit crass at the Ontario but I wouldn’t knock it, pool was ok it even had a lifeguard.
My star tip here is try to get on the tour to Sitges and the Torres Vineyard at Villafranca (buy as much wine as you can to take home), this is a cheap trip only an afternoon job and you have the chance to by some world class wines at half the price.
Yes I will go back to Cap Salou but I always try somewhere different but I would recommend the Ontario to anyone as a great base for the area.
