Ilios Hotel

I was a bit worried being 32 and going to a 18-30 place but the Ilios was the best choice for us. Its about a 15 minute walk to the beach and the main strip is about a 10 minute walk but it was far away enough not to be up all night with the clubs so we could actually relax. The staff at the Ilios were warm and friendly and helpful. The studios have 2 ring cookers, kettles, microwaves and are well equipped if you are eating in to save some money, though I think its probably cheaper to eat at one of the many, many restaurants to be honest. So book at the Ilios, you won't be disappointed. There is a good pool with a good atmosphere and people of all ages which made me feel better!
Overall, a week is probably too much since this is really a purpose built resort for drinking and lacks all culture, but its good for a break and you won't be disappointed if you split your time between here and other places to get the greek culture you crave.

Hi All, We have stayed in the Ilios, several times over the years. Maria, and George, have always made us very welcome from the 1st time we arrived at the Ilios, not to forget Andre and raymonda in the cafe. The Ilios has always been very clean and quiet, and well maintained, the pool area is good with a good pool bar. Maria Made food(round the pool) and drinks available even though the Ilios was in the process of a change over to private bookings. We could not speak more highly of the Ilios and would recommend it to anyone looking for good, clean,friendly, place to stay in Stalis, take care all.

the ilios well wot can i say,myself and my husband and 3 children went this was our 6th visit,every year not 1 dissapointment.till this year when there was no evening entertainment,and yes that is the only thing i can say was wrong,because as you no when u have children if they are happy,they leave you alone and no one wants to feel like they are at home in the evenings with the kids moaning that they are bored,but apart from that we love u nicos,babis,demitri,veronica,and espcaily alex loved him before he was married,but still my fav,we decided that 2 weeks is just not long enough so this year we went for 3 weeks we did flights only and booked through the ilios itsself in april and got half board and transfers and air con 24 hours a day for £800,do not book excursions at the welcome meeting,go down the main street and on the right hand side u will see a tour company that gives children free and under half price they also pick u up and drop u off by car,and never ever go to bubble beach,all german owned,cost a pretty penny to eat as there is no were else to go and u will not see a bubble unless u make it yourself(if u no wot i mean)the sun beds are 6euro and trust me u need them as the ants which may a add have army boots come out from underneth the sand and run up your leg and if u think the mazzie bites are bad u seen nothing yet but realy nothing to do at bubble beach as all the water sports cost the earth,but if u love horses just up the road from the ilios is horse riding on the beach fantastic but be ware if u take the kids they go down a nudist beach,the 3 island hop is a great day out but book that in town,and eating out we went to the grand sale every night,good food and dont cost the earth we tryed every were else but didnt get half of what we got there not 1 bad belly in 6 years of eating there,this year 08 we are travelling to tunisia as ilois is having a water slide built,and we want to give it a yaer just in case its not up and running properly but next year 09 once again we will be back

Sorry but these apartments are not for the faint hearted, when we arrived we were asked which apartment we wanted we should of clicked then, very small, smelly, food is utter rubbish, salad and apples a dish of I don’t know what put in front of you without telling you what it is and it has to be shared by two. I could go on we stayed only one night that was plenty. Crete was great don’t waste money on this apartment.

The food was often the same but good and without any problems as too often in holidays vacations.
We were there with a group of 12 young people and I can say that thanks to the amiability of the team, every thing went perfectly.
The youngsters were happy and each question put to the Ilios team got an immediate reply.
Even if such a hotel is not a first class one, it was very pleasant to stay there, in a quiet hotel with cheery people taking care of our pleasure.
Very nice pool on the roof, perfectly clean. Such a pool is quite surprising for a hotel of that class.
Perfectly budget priced for our youngsters. We will go back there.
