New hot tub is amazing when the sun...
8 / 10
May 2008, Mr Jeem Assterson

New hot tub is amazing when the sun goes down. Only problem is it was overcrowded by young women who used to drink all day in it. Godd if your in to that sort of thing but it was just me and the woman. The new pool which they got in March was heated so it didnt take my fancy , was very clean all the same. Overall it is a decent complex, would recomend to a friend!

They were awful, no pool, no 24 hour...

Jan 2008, Miss Áine Burns-Fitzpatrick

They were awful, no pool, no 24 hour reception and no security! The owner lived there and was the cleaner as well not that she did much. We got broken into on our second night along with 6 other apartments. We didn't have a safety deposit box, luckily because there was a key in it when we got back so our money would of been stolen along with everything else. Never stay there, they should be shut down!!!

Worst apartments I’ve ever stayed...
1 / 10
Dec 2007, Miss Caroline Tyndall

Worst apartments I’ve ever stayed in my life! These apartments are dirty, old and need to be knocked down and rebuild. There’s no swimming pool, we were told we could use the swimming pool in the Freda apartments which was a few mins away - well so we were told, it’s about a 15min walk at least.
There is no view what so ever, you are looking out on what I would call a dump. Stayed here in August with 3 of my friends however we only spent 2 nights in this kip because 6 apartments got robbed on the 2nd night including ours. All our phones were taken and a sum of money the owner/cleaner/receptionist wasn’t a bit nice about it or helpful. Had to move then because we had enough of it, there’s never anyone around, no security guard or cameras and its very dark at night around these apartments! We weren’t the only people to move infact most people staying there didn’t stay for the full length and got a transfer.
My advice do not stay - me and my friends were very disappointed, I’ve never seen apartments like these in all my life but Crete itself is brill and I hope to go there again and stay in a different apartment block! As for Budget they should be ashamed of themselves for having these apartments and recommending them to us.

We moved out of this one - and were...

Nov 2007, Mr D Morrow

We moved out of this one - and were charged by the travel agency. We had the following issues with this apartment.
1) We had requested a cot for an infant, the cot provided was very old and broken. I asked for a replacement but was told that this was the only one they could find at short notice. I am not sure how this was short notice as we had booked months previously.
2) Extra blankets were provided; all of these were dusty and old.
3) The upholstery on the concrete-base beds and the curtains had not been washed and smelt very bad, sitting on gave us allergies.

4) Towels were provided to us with what I hope were fake tan streaks.
5) Plates, cups were really dirty.
6) None of the rooms were clean. There were stains on doors (possibly vomit) and fabric, mould on the bathroom curtains and on the tiles.
7) The area directly in front of the apartment was littered with discarded underwear and broken bottles. The dirt road was used by tenants as a place to test their quad bikes which meant that the petrol fumes and dust blew directly into our apartment. This apartment was not suited to a family or anyone.
I have stayed in numerous apartments in Crete and am used to them being quite ‘basic’ this however was of a very low standard. Completely in agreement with comments about the owners/cleaner from other reviews.

The worst apartment ever stayed in....
1 / 10
Aug 2007, Mr M Finn

The worst apartment ever stayed in. DO NOT STAY HERE.
No swimming pool, small apartments for 2 people, but we were four adults and paid way above for apartments and received this. What a disgrace. We paid over 3 thousand euro, for a one bed apartment.
BE WARNED; a lot better to be found in this area. Crete itself is brilliant and so Hersonnisos.

Oh my God! What a place. I've been...

Sep 2006, Miss M Cox

Oh my God! What a place. I've been around most parts of the world and I have never stayed in such rubbish accommodation.
Myself & my sister are just back from there for a weeks holidays. Now on the other hand. Crete is amazing & I wouldn’t let a choice of bad accommodation put me off going again.
Oh where do I start, I could rant all day about how bad Elpida were. First to be greeted by a wagon on reception, about as mush personality as a trout! Could barely open door of apartment because room was so small. Bathroom & kitchen area were mankey dirty. Never a drop of hot water, No swimming pool, Balcony..don’t get me started.. Had to back into the seat to sit on it.
Then, our first morning there, she knocked on door & accused us of having men in the apartment & wanted money off us (we didn’t have any men in there by the way).
She bust into out apartment, searched the bathroom, kitchen, wardrobe and said they must of jumped off balcony. I was so mad, complained to Budget Travel about her that afternoon, but sure will do no good.
Anyway apart from that... We loved Crete & will be going back... but to the Diassas apartments up the road.

Stayed there last year with some...

Jul 2006, Mr D Devlin

Stayed there last year with some friends and without doubt these are the worst apartments I've ever stayed at in 15 years of package holidays. I only gave this a score of one as zero wasn't an option.
The owner / receptionist / cleaner spoke very little English and was unpleasant and unfriendly throughout our whole week stay, constantly ordering us to lower music that was barely audible when sitting outside in the passageway (no balcony). No pool (we were facing a field which seemed to be used by the locals as a dump), no communal area, very small apartment (for 4) and badly in need of refurbishment, very little presses / wardrobe storage, dodgy plug fittings and we rarely had warm water (perhaps twice in the whole week).
The only slightly positive thing I can say is that's it's only about 10 minutes walk from the bar/club centre of Hersonissos. Do not stay there!

Jun 2006, Ms T Faherty

We found this accommodation ok. We had no complaints over all - we met the owner when we checked in and she was always really nice to us. We hope to go back to Crete again soon and we hope to book Elpida when we go back again. I know there is no pool but it's only 5euro in a taxi to star beach!
Over all we had a wild week and Elpida was perfect for us coz all we wanted was a bed at the end of the day!
Enjoy Crete if you are reading this coz it's one wild place!

Me and 2 of my friends stayed there...

Jan 2006, Ms MC Cassidy

Me and 2 of my friends stayed there in july 2004. Now we had the best time in Crete. And I have to say we did look for a basic apartment and Elpida was that.
Probably a bit too basic. 3 girls on hols we were only looking for a bed to sleep when we came in, in the morning but the cleaner was awful. She would shout when she wanted to talk to us and just barged into the room when she felt like it. Also she nicked my friends pjs. Enjoy wearing them.

By far the worst apartments I have...

Nov 2005, Mr D. Hunt

By far the worst apartments I have ever stayed in. The receptionist/slash cleaner would arrive un-announced and wake us up. A constant annoyance from the moment we arrived, labelled us thugs. Had to lock door from inside in order to keep her out. No fridge for two weeks. Forget about your damage deposit.
The showers barely worked. No swimming pool, unfriendly service and definitely not worth the money paid. A disappointment. If travelling with budget travel and your in a group of young people, you will be placed here.

We didn’t like this apartment,...
3 / 10
Jul 2005, Mr K Henderson

We didn’t like this apartment, couldn’t wait to escape from it each morning. It’s quite expensive as well, designated as Class A.
The main problem is there is the bathroom and kitchen are basically connected to next door’s by an air vent - you can hear every single conversation from next door, and they can hear you, which was a bit weird.
There is no TV or phone, the shower was hopeless, the water got cut off a couple of times, you have to share a balcony with next door, and there is this annoying bar thing in the kitchen/sitting room which takes up the whole room. It’s just a bad karma apartment. Only one wardrobe and three drawers for 4 people. No swimming pool, so no communal place to get to know your neighbours. Location isn’t that great either, at the far end of the top street.
The owner threw all our bathroom stuff in the bin on the last day. The only plus point of the place is that there’s no security guards and you don’t have to leave in keys at the front desk, so you’ve plenty of freedom to bring home guests or make as much noise as you want.
