Lyda Beach Apartments

I was sold the all inclusive holiday through the Co-op . it was sold as a 4* and i would only rate it as a 2 1/2* . the food was not to good so i had to eat out most of the time. you were charged for air con . it was very busy and only one bar man to serve all. there was no bus to the beach as advertised and the pool bar was closed . it took 20 mins to walk to the beach not 10 and the town took 35 mins to walk not 20. there was no night time entertainment so very little to do in the area. over all i would not reccomend this place for a holiday at all.

First at all the Tour Operator "Phone and Go" is the worst TO I've ever booked with!! they sel us a week (7 night) holidays but we did 5 days only; 2nd we have been in Lydas beach last week; the employees were drunk from the morning, the food was really basic when you can get it, the rooms and the towels were allways dirty, The pool was so filt that if you have a bath you have irritation, in the room we find cockroac and the first nice pub or shop are 1km far from there!! (the shop next is very expensive).
I will never suggest this Tour operator and this structure!

i went to lyda beach apartments last year and i was expecting a bigger apartment at the time and at least a table in it. im 18 now and went with my dad and brothers. we enjoyed every bit of it apart from the apartment . ohh and the mosquitos!!! thought they looked very well from the outside. we went to the water park on a bus and aquarium by taxi, enjoyed them both alot. i'd love to go back again big time.. loved the place . the resturunt beside the apartments was really good crack, we made good friends with the wayter there. he was the best ever. we got a picture with him and all. i liked the beach too a bit rocky in som parts . over all great place to go for all ages!!! really wanna go agen !!!!!

Stayed at Lyda Beach in May 2009 - studio apartment !!!!!!
Not even a table and chair in the apartment. Balcony overhung by
a large tree - couldn't stand on it never mind sit out there - Disaster.
1st week of season - quiet - which was expected - not a problem.
Requested room change - they couldn't accomadate us even though they
had lots of rooms vacant. Place was clean - They need to brush up on their
customer relations though.

I thought the place was lovely, very clean. Went there on a girls holiday. We found everything was located near complex... I would recommend anyone to stay there. It's the holiday place that caters for all ages.Would definetly stay there again, people also very friendly. Nite life just 15mins away. Lots of nice places to eat. It is a very beautiful Island. It was the best holiday i ever had. Cant wait to return there again x

Stayed in room 324 overlooking small pool and bar near front of apartments. Apartment was quite large and perfectly clean. There was some noise from the bar and passing aircraft at night but not excessive. Might have been a bit more noisy earlier in the season. Complex is a bit isolated with around 20 minute walks to the beach, main steet at Kato Gouves and old town of Gouves up the hill. Hiring a scooter (€10-20 per day) is a good option for getting around locally and the bus service is good if you want to go further (we were quoted €28 for a taxi to Heraklion and we got there just as fast for €2 on the bus). We were victims of collapse of XL so we only stayed a couple of days before taking the fast ferry to our intended destination of Santorini, where we stayed for most of the week.

well i am only back from crete came home on the 16 aug myself and 8 others were there and to ber honest it had to been one off the best holidays ever were are all in the age of 18-22 and every ni we were in till 2 in the morin up singin and dancein
the rooms were perfect had no bother with any off the rooms air con the hole works
i have been asked back .to work there next year workin wit the party side to it so i tell all u people now lyda is the place to be and i hope to see a lot off people there next year

Just back from holidays in Lyda appartments with partner and 1.5 year old baby. The accomodation was quite bad, we got an appartment in the old part of the complex. The room was a bit dirty - specially in the less visible parts. They came to clean it only when we were in and my baby slept, so we had to send them away. They did not come on the days when we were out all day. The appartment was quite spacious with big balcony - it is the only good what I can say about. The aircondition was only in one room and so the advantage of two rooms was gone as we had to have open door all time. And more the aircondition did not stop itself when the temperature droped so we were cold and had to get up in the night severel times to put it off and later on when it was too hot.
The noise from bar ( specially with karaoke ) was so bad that sleeping till midnight was impossible.
The cooker was working only partly, no ketle, the hot water in shower was available only in the afternoons not in the mornings.
They did not want to change the appartnment as they do not have one bedroom appartment in the other parts of the complex.
I would not recomanded for families. The beach is about 20minutes to walk but it is quite nice beach. Pools are not available in the evenings or early mornings so I found them not much use.
Budget Travel have the return flights ( on Saturdays) at 7am, so we had to leave at 3.40 but we were woken up at 2.45am - it is unhuman. Never more Budget Travel!

i went lyda beach in crete gouve last year lovely place very quiet.. not far in taxi to nite life.. this year i am headin bck there but stayin in lyda horizin my gran stays there all the time and loves itt

i went with my boyfriend im 18 and he is 19 this was the best week of my life the safari waterpark bbq boat trip were apsalutely brillant the safari was best thing ive ever done in my life what an expiriance. The apartments were basic but lovely cleaned every day a good sized wardrobe and make up table.had a problem with ants first night but reception kindly sorted it..it had to be expected anyway..we were in 57 and thankfully had no problems i would reccomend air conditioning the pools were ideal and lovely the area itself is peacefull with loads of eating bars and pubs mylos is by far the best it was all in all a great holiday i will defo return...................................
