First impressions of the room at 4 in the morning (Faron Young?), a tad how I felt.. After a tiring journey, were to be feeling slightly disappointed, the fxtures and fittings like us were also rather tired. But when the mind and body is very tired and in need of sleep, what can you expect. The shower, although appearing tired in appearance belted out a fantastic refreshing experience. a TIP...shower in the evenings when the water is very hot and in good quantity. Else, in the morning the water is cold to luke warm until about 0930 ish. Then the very basic Turkish breakfast added to the initial feeling of disappointment. BUT...these feelings were soon washed away by the friendliness of the staff and other visitors staying there. So many of the guests were keen to impart good advice about the location etc, too many names too mention. But a special ''Hello'' to Val & Jim, and also Trish & Chris, Two lovely couples amongst a number of lovely friendly people. Already missing our breakfast time and poolside chats!
Back to the review, all the hotel really requires to make a big difference would be an option yoghurt with the breakfast and maybe the availability of the free coffee extended throughout the day? Murat the barman, well he is more than the barman actually he sems to be available for all duties, was always willing to do anything to help.
As for the location, Bitez is a beautiful and altogether friendly place with much to offer for the beach enthusiast, and for an endless selection of excellent restaurants. I can recommend the Amfora, Blanca and CJ's. Blanca is the more upmarket approach, but the others offer fantastic food and hospitality. At the Amphora, host Daniel is amazing, and at CJ's, Charlie, John, Aiden and Zico are the best.
The beach, the right hand side (facing the sea) is the quiter side. But the better sand etc. Can recommend the services of the Regal Bar/Cafe. All sunbeds along the beach are free, as long as you buy drinks whilst there from each respective Bar. One drink sems to keep the staff happy.
Trips, we used Alina, (two offices on the sea front) and had a fantastic day on their own boat which only takes 12 people at a time. A lovely light dinner included in the price. Just one thing to be aware of, if you are not a good swimmer, only one of the 5 island stops provided access to the shore (Camel Beach). Camel ride is only 10 turkish lira (about £4.50), but you do only go abot 100 meteres and back. Good fun though. It was on this boat trip we met some lovely people, notably Clare and John, who we shared three more evenings of food and drink with until rudely interupted by having to return to good old Blighty/ Thanks to each of you, your friendships really added to the holiday experience, and helped make it our best holiday ever!
Ephesus.... a very long day, 3hrs each way. An excellent dinner, but the Guide did go on a bit, with too much info. So much so we had no real time for taking in the Amphitheatre. Having said that, he was very informative. Lots of coach swopping involved in the day though!
Back at Bitez, so easy to catch a Dolmus to go just about anywhere. Bodrum was a surprising jewel in the crown for me, loved it. Had everything. A fantastic Castle, only 10 lira, wil take at least 2 - 3 hours to go around, some lovely shoreline bar/cafes that can be reached via alleys leading from the commercial market. We loved the Ebow.
Plenty of other resorts worth a visit, Gumusluk, Turgetreis and Torba are recommended for day trips.
Guess I could write a book with all I can say about the resort and Hotel. But to put it in a nutshell, we will be going back next year. If we cannot get in to The Small World, because it appears it may already be booked up a year up front, we have already earmarked/viewed a couple more just in case.
Bitez? An absolute joy.
The Small World? An excellent place to stay, and relax in.

This was our second holiday to Turkey and because of good value for money we settled on the Small World. The staff at the Small World were very helpful and friendly. They arranged a boat trip just for guests at the hotel and this is well worth going on. There were only 8 of us on our trip and it was a good group of people. It helped us all get to know each other which made our stay much more pleasant. The pool and sunbeds were spotless thanks to Vulcan. Although small, our room was kept clean and towels were changed every day. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Bitez and only a few minutes walk from the shops. For those on a budget, this hotel is well worth the money. We enjoy Bitez so much we are returning for a third year. We are looking forward to eating at Bar Vona again. Their food may be a bit pricier than other places but it is excellent. The food at the Pedesa was typically Turkish (and good) and very cheap. Looking forward to getting on the raki again!

We have been going to Bitez & Turkey for several years, and Bitez is our favourite.
Good food, plenty restaurants, peace and quiet, no hassle. Nice beaches. The Small World Hotel is situated about a 100 mts. Back from the main road. You can walk from the Small World to the Ambrosia ( far end of beach ) in about 15mins at an easy pace.
The Small World hotel is a 16 room hotel. Nice pool. Nice rooms, bit small but clean.
Small bar, could do with draft beer (cans & bottles only at the moment ) but all in all if you want to relax this is the place. And if you want a bit livelier mode just walk out of hotel about a 100 feet and you can get the dolmus into Bodrum or any of the local resorts.
The taxi rank is just at the end of the road if required.

The Small World is an oasis of calm - just back from the beach it is away from any noise.
The rooms are quite small but clean and well looked after.
The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
If you are looking for a small, well run, quiet hotel then this may be for you.
No loud music to be heard when you are lying by the pool - which, by the way, is available from 8 in the morning!

We enjoyed a wonderful relaxing week here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were basic but we only slept there and showered so who cares! Hotel is situated in a quiet part of Bitez but only a few mintutes walk from the sea front, its many bars and restaurants. Can really recommend the Black Cat, which is a small restaurant just set back from the front. The meals we had there were lovely, tasty and fresh and value for money. The staff were just brilliant and made us feel welcome. We could not resist eating there 3 times in one week. However a couple that also stayed at our hotel for 2 weeks ate there nearly every evening. The beach is lovely and extremely safe for those a bit afraid of the sea. Fantastic scenery and lovely walks. A quieter resort than some in Turkey but cannot fault it. The holiday was wonderful. Only downside and nothing to do with the resort or the lovely hotel, the airport (Bodrum) is really expensive for food and drink. They were charging 5.50 Euro for a tray of chips! so be aware and bring your own food.
