Hotel was ok...not 5 star but in british standard 3/4 star. hotel charges was very expensive. disco bar was closed cuz of eid festival. very religious country. you will not be served alcohol without passport to show your not muslim. would not advise anyone to go morroco for relaxing holiday. fez is in the middle of nowhere....nothing to do!

We stayed at the Zalagh Parc Palace for 4 nights over New Year’s. This also coincided with the Muslim festival of Eid.
We booked a twin garden view room through sunshine.co.uk for a very reasonable rate. The room was a reasonable size. But for a 5 star hotel I would have expected a few nicer touches. There was a fridge but it was not stocked as a mini bar, which came in very handy.
In the bathroom, the bidet and loo were far too close to together - about a 4 inch gap, not very practical at all.
The wardrobe smelt mouldy but we left the door open so that was OK.
The hotel grounds seemed well maintained. The main pool looked a good size but being the end of December we did not take a dip.
The package we booked was half board, but after the first evening we did not return to the buffet restaurant. It was not too our taste, but plenty of others were tucking in happily.
We did try the pizzeria. Service was a bit slow and not exactly with a smile, but the pizzas were tasty and freshly cooked. The bar was very dark but not too unreasonably priced.
The hotel is a good distance 10-15mins in a petit taxi from the centre of Fez. Don’t attempt to walk it.
We didn’t find much of interest in the nearby area apart from the supermarket Marjene across the road. Given our view on the hotels food, this was great for stocking up on picnic ingredients.
Overall, I would say that you get what you pay for with ZPP, it is definitely not international 5 star standards, but we didn’t pay those prices.

Our tour party was booked into the Menzeh Zalagh hotel but we were informed that we had been given an upgrade and arrived at the Zaragh Parc Palace. We stayed there for two nights. The first impressions were good with a very grand reception area that gives the right impression expected for a 5 star hotel. However the so called “cordial reception mirroring the legendary Moroccan hospitality” (as advertised on the website) was missing. The reception staff, who were in short supply, were not a bit interested in giving any sort of service whatsoever. They had no maps of Fez and, when asked to point out where the hotel was on a picture of the area on display in the reception, they did not know.
Although the hotel advertises all rooms have a balcony, ours did not along with about 30 others.
They also state that “All the Rooms and Suites are roomy, arranged with grace and enjoy modern comfort. Each one is decorated with a personalized style.” I am not quite sure what grace and personal style means but the room was drab and lacked any person touch. The mini bar was just an empty fridge.
Again the website states the hotel is situated “in the heart of the most oldest imperial city of Morocco, a few minutes from the Medina” – it was a good mile and half, 10 minutes driving.
Out of 9 lifts in the hotel, only 3 were working and many of the lights in the corridors and public areas had been switched off.
The food in the restaurant was presentable but not that expected of “5 stars”.
When I reported a defective shower head in my room, the service staff came and changed the shower head. I was impressed with the efficiency, but when I came to use it, the cardboard that they used to wedge it in place fell off!!!
Overall - a hotel not worth the 5 Stars and a website that greatly exaggerates.
