Would go back to the Oasis village

I never write reviews but felt after reading some on this site and others I just had to set the record straight, after booking my holiday at the Oasis ( all inclusive, 1 week, Sept ) I was scared to say the least! all I can say is I really can't understand some of the other reviews posted here, if people moaned about this place then they really are just that moans! We just returned from a week stay at the Oasis and wow what a great place! excellent pools, excellent grounds, huge rooms well cleaned ( never saw one bug, ant etc. ) staff excellent, food great, drink flowing, what more could you want! my only complaint regarding the room was a mini bar sized fridge that really is far too small and kept nothing cold this needs to be addressed, and as always you could hire a multitiude of home comforts eg. playstation, toaster, kettle, fan etc. We arrived late at night ( 11 pm ) and were greeted with a cold meat and salad buffet with bread rolls, cheese, fruit and yoghurt etc. also a 1 1/2 litre cold bottle of water, what great service! this really was a very welcome snack and the water was lovely after the plane/bus journey. Seriously we had a ball, as some of the others have stated the food could be better but we found it perfectly suited to our tastes and considering they cater for so many different nationalaties here I'm amazed they do such a good job, yes I would have liked more vegetables but just have more salad instead, I never saw any flies on the food, the food was always replaced when empty, was always hot, and there was a microwave if you wanted it hotter, perhaps if you arrived 5 minutes before the sitting was due to end then things may have been different but then simply go early.. duh! you could help yourself to as much wine and beer at lunch and dinner as you liked same with soft drinks and the staff always had a smile ( a simple word or two in Spanish goes a long way ) and were quick to clean off the tables. Never tried the snacks as to be honest after breakfast and lunch we were never able to eat anything else so can't comment on that. There was a queue for the drinks at night sometimes but not that often and the bar staff were really excellent at clearing the queue although I did have an issue with someone blatantly skipping the queue which the staff also spotted but did nothing about and as they were ahead of me I just had to put them right! but this should be the staff's job when they spot it and not mine. OK the entertainment is a letdown but as we brought our 6 month old son with us we did not really get a chance to sample the entertainment but lets just say that anytime I went to get a drink to bring back to the room I was happy the bar staff were as good as they were as the quicker you got out of there the better! but seriously folks who rates their holiday experience primarily on the entertainment at the hotel! and if that was what you wanted then you could easily avail of the entertainment services of their sister hotel oasis dunas. As stated above because we brought such a young toddler with us we did not get to see much of corralejo but just check through some of the other reviews for the informaton on that as they seem spot on for what we saw ( great for families, not for 18/30 ) It appears as if some of the negative reviews seem to stem from the issue of people supposed to be in the Oasis dunas and then been told that this is overbooked and been placed here so right away you have some upset people hence ( I believe ) the negative review also some people seem to want an "English" only resort, well if you want that by all means go to Benidorm or somewhere like it but this resort caters for several different nationalities and is enhanced by it as there is nothing like mixing with other people to broaden the mind also everyone we met was very pleasent and polite. I have always believed the following saying "You get what you pay for" if you expect 4/5 star hotel treatment then pay accordingly and go elsewhere however if you would like to pay budget prices and still receive a great service with clean environments, good food, good people etc. then by all means come here. My advice: enjoy your holidays and leave your stress, worries and moans at home, your body will thank you for it!
Great Holiday

Just returned after spending a very enjoyable week at the Oasis Village( 8 - 15 Sept) A/I. The location is great just out of the main street with all the bars shops etc but close enough to have a stroll in the evening. A must is the courtesy bus to the sand dunes its amazing, we went 3 times and each time we had a fab day. The water is crystal clear and a beautiful blue. There are 2 main pools at the oasis village plus a childrens paddling pool, when we stayed around the hotel we stayed around the biggest of the 2 pools and there was always plenty of sun beds and shade if you needed it. The entertainment is not up to much, but then were not that bothered about it , its nice to sit outside and enjoy a few drinks , mind you you have to queue for quite awhile for drinks but hey who cares you've got all the time in the world and the staff do an amazing job to try and keep up with the demand. The food is fantastic a different selection each evening and if you must have them they do have chips ( we had them once in the whole holiday and that was at lunchtime!) the meat is cooked to perfection not an ounce of fat on it! I have read that a lot of people said there were a lot of germans there whilst they were on holiday, we found it the reverse there were more british than germans plus other nationalites. The rooms do not have air con, and you really do need something as the rooms get very stuffy and hot at night, we hired a fan from reception and found it a godsend. The rooms are huge you have a sitting room come bedroom (if you have more than two in your party) plus a bedroom and of course bathroom which is also huge. Everyroom has a terrace area with table and chairs. You have to vacate your rooms at 12 noon but there is an area to store you luggage and there are 2 rooms (one for woman, one for men) to have a shower and clean up before you leave but make sure you dont leave it to the last minute as they are in great demand and end up with queues (also a tip get a towel early from the towel stand in the showeroom, because if you dont you wont get one as once again they are in demand, we got ours when we dropped off our luggage and stored them in our cases until we needed them bit naughty i know but im glad we did!). If your going to the Oasis Village, i'm sure you'll have a fantastic time. I would reccommend it!
could of been better

16th Sept 2007 We have just returned from staying at this Hotel - we could not fault the complex it was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the only downfall was the food, it was either over cooked(burnt on somedays) or under cooked and not very warm, food not consumed at lunch often turned up either in the snack bar ( ham & cheese wraps a classic example )or mixed in with the salad. The choice often left a lot to be desired, there was fish and always some sort of meat in Gravy which looked very unappetizing. There was never any fresh vegitables they were always frozen and over cooked. The snack bar was a joke only open from 15.30 to 16.30 - and there was no control over who was taking the food eg:- people who were on self catering basis were just helping themselves. I would not recommend the food at this Hotel to anyone - if you are going to book it then book self catering.
good time

Just back from Corralejo, Fuerteventura, yesterday. (Temp in the mid to high 20's all the time, now back to the rain!!!!!) We were placed at the Oasis Village hotel, (not our first choice) on an all inclusive basis. First the hotel, good clean hotel, friendly staff, good food with a good range, only slight down side was the salt water pools, which are in a bit of need for maintanence. There are plenty of sun beds all of the time. The Hotel is mainly used by German and Italian, visitors with very few British. The evening entertainmant is a bit hit and miss. If you have kids the Oasis Dunas hotel is two minutes walk away and a must for the mini disco. They have a good kids club at 8pm each night and then entertainment for the rest of the night, however we did not stay for it. Corralejo town centre is only 10 mins walk from the hotel, lots of shops and places to eat, (good range from Mexican to Italian). The water park is again only 5 mins walk away, although we did not use it. They only "organised" trip we used was to the oasis animal park, we had a good day out and I would recommend it. We used the free hotel bus to the beach which was again a good day out. Totaly spotless!!!!!!!! (You need to book the bus before 7pm the day before, plus you can order a pick nick) Overall the holiday was very good. We would go back again. Hope this helps.

My friend and I have just returned from two glorious weeks in Corralejo, Fuerteventura. We had the pleasure of staying at the Oasis Village. I dont normally write reviews on anything to be honest, and due to working in the hospitality industry I realise that people are more likley to write a review if they have had a bad experience. Therefore as we had such a lovely time I thought it only fair to write a review for the first time. We were unfortunate enough to read a few of the reviews not only on this site, but others too. Understandably we began to panic that we had made a mistake in booking this resort. I am however pleased to report that the hotel was wonderful, as people have previously said the hotel is German run, this is not a problem as all the staff are very friendly and helpful. I dont have children, but can say a few times we witnessed the kids club, it was not a British woman running the club, however her English was very good and she managed to get all the kids and adults enjoying games of waterpolo etc. We did only book self-catering so can really only comment on the pool bar food which we sampled a few times, it was good and reasonably priced - no complaints. The hotel is very large, extremly clean, with immaculate pools, plentiful supplies of sunbeds, large well equiped apartments - overall a beautiful hotel only 10 min walk to the main street and our favourite music square - I can honestly say my friend and I were more than pleasantly surprised. As for Fuerteventura we enjoted it so much we have already booked to return for Aug/Sep time and cannot wait!! The island has plenty to do and has a lovely mixture of people, we made alot of friends we cannot wait to see again!! Fellow holidaymakers, if you have booked this resort do not panic - it is lovely!!
Loved it!

We stayed All-Inclusive at this hotel and loved every minute of it. There was eight of us altogether and we had a great time. This hotel is a five minute walk from the waterpark. It was a nice relaxing break - the nightlife is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, the hotel run a shuttle bus to the beach. The beach is absolutely gorgeous! The food was lovely and the rooms are enormous and so clean, the hotel is spotless - cannot fault it. The only downfall about the rooms is there is no air conditioning. You can hire a fan from reception, but this does nothing more than blow warm air around your room! The evening entertainment is not too good, but children seemed to enjoy it. We stayed at this hotel at the end of June and it was a lovely time to go. I would recommend that if you are going to stay at this hotel that you stay All Inclusive because the prices in the hotel and outside of the hotel for food and drink is quite expensive and you get your monies worth staying All Inclusive.
MIXED EMOTIONS

Returned yesterday from the Oasis Village. I booked this holiday late, with allocation on arrival. I have read the previous reviews and found things pretty similar to others. However there are a few points I would like to make. The hotel is spacious and quite attractive with a 5 minute or so walk to the main street and about 25 to 30 minutes to the harbour area. The hotel is clean and well kept and as others have said, It caters mainly for Germans. This did not put me off as they were all pleasant. I stayed here on an all inclusive basis, but ate out on a couple of occasions. Breakfast is served 7 to 10, lunch 12 to 2, snacks 3.30 to 4.30 and evening meal 6 to 10. Drinks are 10am to 11pm. The spirits were local and not very good. Beer was the only one I liked. The main problem with the drink is that there is too few staff and queues regularly formed. The food is geared for the Germans, so don't expect British grub. The food was generally good, and sometimes very good, but on occasions things were luke warm or over done. the snacks are served at exactly 3.30 and not topped up, so be quick! The main dining room is spacious and staff attentive. Overall I got value for money. I would recommend this hotel if you are getting a cheap deal, but don't go if you are paying full price as there are better hotels out there. I did enjoy my stay, but I wasn't expecting too much.
not great!!

This hotel is lovely and we had a really nice time, it is definetly geared for older people as my boyfirend and myself found it lacking entertainment at night. The food here is definetly nothing to write home about, but as they say you get what you pay for! you quickly realise that the menu does not change very much from day to day but if you dont fancy anything at lunch time i found that the snacks in the afternoon where slightly better. but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday where you just lie about the pool all day and have a few drinks in the evening then it is perfect.. if you drink spirits then you may have a problem because alot of the local produce is not very nice but wine and lager are good and are also self service during meal times. the biggest disappointment was the fact that the entertainment was in german didnt bother us much as it look crap anyway. all in all we had a nice time as it is a lovely island but i dont think i would go back to this hotel which is ashame because it is kept nice and the appartments are really clean and big.
Please ignore the bad stuff and read here....

arrived back last night from the Oasis Village. First of all, I read these reviews before and after we booked but went ahead anyway as we got a good AI price. Please ignore any bad/grumpy/snotty comments as i was worried before we arrived too. On arrival our booking had got mixed up and we weren't down as having a room. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpfull running around sorting it out and evenyually got us a room overlooking the pool with no problems. The rooms are HUGE with a seperate living/tv area with table, fridge and sofa. The bedrooms are a good size and the bathroom is clean and a good size also. The rooms are very clean and are cleaned and tidyed by the maid service also changing towls and linin. Getting onto the food....we went all inclusive and was plesed to see that the drinks were served from 10am-11pm, alcohol, beer, soft drinks, cocktails, tea coffee and a delicious hot chocolate. The only gripe was that in the evening there was only one bar man and the que did get pretty big at some points. The food was very good, breakfast was a choice of cereals, meats, cheese, dried fruit, bread, yoghurts and a hot selection of beans, eggs, panckaes etc. Lunch and dinner was a similar set up everyday always with a good selection of salads, pasta, hot dishes which did vary and a meat being grilled every night, (chicken, steaks, pork etc). drinks are on tap there so you can help yourself. I found the food a great selection everyday and I am a fussy eater. The only one thing that was slighty annoying was that the entertainment was ALL in german including the kids stuff as it is a german owned resort. There was a different programme every night with a quiz, magic show etc but it was all in german but that didn't really matter to us as we sat outside anyway but don't expect show stopping performances...if you know what i mean! It is only a 10 min walk to the main town part and the hotel does a 2 euro shuttle to the dunes with a packed lunch which we took advantage. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay with great weather and helpful friendly staff. I would not hesitate staying there again.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Oasis Village and will defiantly be returning ASAP. We knew before traveling that this hotel was primarily geared for Dutch and German guests which didn’t bother us one bit and found them all extremely friendly. We found the entire hotel staff very friendly and efficient and the apartments had everything needed for a self catering break. This hotel would not suit guests looking for good British food or entertainment however if you are looking for a peaceful break in quiet surrounding it will be ideal.
Absolutely great holiday break! The staff were so good and understanding when faced with some really demanding 'Brits'. But they looked after us so well. For what we paid the room was good the cleaning was good the linen was good and we found the food excellent. The only... more
