We had probably one of our best holidays here. Admittedly some of the facilities that had been advertised weren’t available but the few that weren’t we wouldn’t have used anyway.
Food was about as good as we could expect from Turkey. Nothing to write home about but kept us full. The kids made lots of friends here.
One downside, there was a few bits of maintenance going on round the hotel and at the one they were finishing next door. I think you expect some of this when you go to a brand new hotel. The staff were very friendly.
My biggest problem with this hotel was the kind of people it was attracting. The majority of them fell into one of the following categories moaners, wingers, rude or compo hunting. There was a fantastic holiday to be had if you just got on with it. Some people just seem to like to spoil their own holiday by looking for things that are bad...well good luck to them but they’re only going to get bitter and twisted. And to make matters worse, they were doing all of this in front of their kids,...some role models there lol.
Anyway, like I said, the holiday was excellent, the hotel needed a lot of finishing touches but we are thinking of going back next year.

My husband and I stayed at the Pegasus Palace from 27th June - 11th July 2005 staying at one of the Jacuzzi suites. We had a lovely room, clean and comfortable and on arrival all seemed good. Then we discovered the hairdryer did not work and we did not have a bathrobe and a pair of slippers as described in the brochure. The hairdryer was repaired and despite 8 requests to various members of staff (including First Choice reps) I received a robe after a week but never received the slippers.
The Jacuzzi suites should have been adults only, during our stay 2 of the suites in our block were let to families.
On the 2nd day of our holiday we attempted to find a sun lounger in order to lie by the pool outside the Jacuzzi suite.
We searched the whole complex at 8.30 am - only to find the brits had adopted the German attitude of getting up before dawn and placing towels on them. We were forced to buy airbeds after a few days at a cost of £20 to have somewhere to lie on in comfort. We mentioned this to one of the reps who told us that they had underestimated how many loungers were required and that they were expecting 450 more to be delivered soon - we never saw them. What we did see were people almost coming to blows over them as very irate people were removing towels from loungers as sometimes they were left unoccupied for hours on end.
We telephoned FC on 2 occasions re building work going on and were told there was none -this was a total load of lies as there were fences everywhere segregating areas and workmen working all night trying to get things finished in both the P.Palace and the P.Tropical, There was dust everywhere,
The entertainment for the children appeared good - but there was nothing at all for adults. The disco downstairs was never open (we were getting desperate) and although there was entertainment in the amphitheatre and the pool bar there was no way you could enjoy it due to the shocking behaviour of most of the kids and the total lack of supervision by their parents.
In the pool bar 6/7 nights a week they had an excellent duo by the name of Lyn and Larry. I fail to understand why the entertainment manager did not put them either in the disco for adults only or in the bar located at the edge of the beach. Most adults we spoke to agreed with us.
I think the last straw for us was that my husband had a very bad case of diarrhoea and violent stomach cramps, which curtailed the last week of our holiday to say the least. We spoke to several people who had the same problems - one who was eventually hospitalised in Marmaris (1!/2 hours away by taxi) and several children too.
We complained to the reps that we felt it was the food but they were not particularly interested even though I made it an official complaint. After 2 visits to the doctor resulting in 2 injections and a bill for £40 my husband was no better.
We arrived home in the Uk at 9.30 on 11th July and I took my husband straight to the doctor’s. He supplied a faeces sample, which showed that he was infected with SALMONELLA. I know he was infected at the P,Palace because we never left the complex or ate out anywhere else. He is still on the mend and has lost over 7lbs in weight and is still off from work.
We have had a visit from the local Environmental Health Officer who feels it could have been either the Chicken or scrambled eggs he ate. W have written to FC, The Dr at the hotel and the manager enclosing the relevant information and I would welcome any other stories from anyone else who had a problem like my husband.
With regard the complex itself, it could be a lovely place to stay if they get their act together - but F.C should have informed people about the building work and given people the opportunity to cancel - they were well aware that it was not finished.

My husband and my 2 children thoroughly enjoyed this holiday to Pegasos Palace. Fair enough it is a new hotel so therefore there were bound to be some teething problems but i found that a lot of people were just being petty.
The food was great with a large selection of hot and cold food available. The had a kids restaurant so the kids were never stuck for anything to eat. Any problems that you had if you reported them to the rep they tried there best to get them sorted. The only complaint that i had was that the beach was not up to standard but i was told by members of staff that this would be put right towards the end of the season.
People who have moaned about this holiday being over run with kids should get a life as it states in the first choice brochure that this hotel is a family place so therefore it obvious that kids are going to be all around. The reps who ran the kids clubs worked very hard making sure the kids were entertained from morning til night.

Went to Pegasos palace on the 22 June for two weeks. First impressions on the hotel were really nice and pools look brilliant.
Short lived, food was dreadful, most times cold same things nearly everyday. Had to get a taxi in to Sarigerme so we could get some decent food. Before going out we went into the travel agents as we had concerns about it not being finished they rang First Choice and was told everything was up and running apart from the Football pitch but would be complete by the time we got there.
Only cosmetic work to the Tropical. They laid hundreds of workmen next door at the Tropical working 24/7,outside hotel paths not finished dust everywhere, workshops right down the road. Pools children kept cutting feet due to tiles uneven. Handrail loose on B3/4 floor reported to the reps on loads of occasions and was still the same when we left on 4th July. Scaffolding in the mini disco, which was dangerous as children trying to climb on. Beach dirty and twigs and litter on, was not told it was a protected beach because of the turtles did not state this in the brochure. In the brochure it states children adventure playground and sand park where are these they isn’t. Cinema not open, adult disco not open. Can use both facilities at the Pegasos and the Tropical well we could not as the Tropical did not open until the 3rd July and then workmen still in the grounds finishing swimming pools and tiling of.
First Choice should of wrote to us and told us the truth and gave us a choice to swap to another holiday but they didn’t. This holiday cost me 2500 pounds and was the worst holiday I have ever had, was not worth the money. We complained to the reps nearly every day and asked to be moved only to get told it would cost us another 500 pound and we would have to get down graded to self catering and probably be a three star even though we had paid for a four star hotel all inclusive. When they got back to us they said it was proving difficult there isn’t much availability as we had five in our party. So we had to stay and bare it. Could not wait to get home.
When everything is finished and all building works gone form outside hotels and if food improves this holiday village may be ok but First Choice should not of opened these properties till 2006 because work has been rushed and you can tell. I am now seeking legal advice and been told First Choice as breached the contract.

Holidayed at this new resort complex 20th June - 30th June.
We took a Jacuzzi room, which was spacious with air con and king size bed. The whole room was clean, which you would expect it to be for a new place. There was a daily maid service, and linen was changed very frequently, the cleaners actually formed shapes out of the towels on our bed, hearts, fans, ribbons, with flowers also placed on the linen for our last night. These little touches say alot.
The quiet pool areas are a good idea for people without kids, but we did get the odd kids visiting the pool for awhile before disappearing.
Food was top class, for every meal. EFES beer was cold and good. Wine was on tap, help-yourself.
You must have a Turkish bath on the site at the beginning of the holiday. Both myself and the wife had one, costs £19 each but lasted 55 minutes.
Had a trip to Marmaris, had to go to a Gold Centre... to induce you to buy gold. Spent ages in the 'market', but was intimidated at every stall by owners wanting you to visit their stall. Had to give it up as it was too much hassle to shop.
Beach was very poor. Sand was dark brown and not appealing at all. We only visited the beach once and there were about a dozen people on it.
About a week into holiday sun loungers went missing from our quiet poolside. It became obvious that there was a major shortage of sun loungers and umbrellas, but management did nothing about it. We heard that people started fetching them up from the beach.
Evening entertainment for adults was poor. The First Choice team tried their best but the 'cabaret' was of poor quality.
The weather of course was hot... the pools were excellent, so if this is all you need then it is the holiday for you.
The small town of Serigerme is 5 mins away by taxi (£2 fare) or about 20-25 mins walk down rough road, at night this is not lit up. We went twice to town, did a bit of shopping, again being met by shopkeepers at every doorway and being harassed. You’ll spend about an hour going round all the shops. There are 3-4 restaurants around, we just stopped at Hotel Carmen for a cold Efes (beer).
First choice must have had 20-30 reps on site taking care of your every need. The hotel staff were also in large numbers, with waiters removing all used crockery and glasses just seconds after you have finished with them.
All in all, the wife and myself enjoyed a relaxing holiday by our quiet pool, reading books, and taking the occasional dip to cool off. Food and drink were a plenty. What more could you want ?
Oh... and when First Choice try to entice you to book all those over-priced trips, take a trip into Serigerme and book them there instead and save yourself some money.

I went to the Palace for 2 weeks starting on the 30th of June.
When we got there , it was 3 in the morning and it looked like we were the first people ever there , it was so clean.
The food sucked , because open morning we would have French toast , the next we would have bread with egg.
At lunchtime it was always the same. And at dinner time there was a good choice but it was usually cold.
If you are going to stay somewhere for 2 weeks then you will obviously get your cloths dirty. Usually there is a laundry room but is there one at Pegasos? No. It costs you 3 euro to wash 1 piece of UNDERWEAR. Its like 7 or 8 for trousers. We just went to the Saregerme market on Sunday and bought new cloths.
For dinner I would advise you to go the paradise restaurant at Saregerme because it is very cheap and the food is cooked on a big barbeque thing in the corner when you order it. After dinner you could go up the road a bit and book a jeep safari from the shop. It is cheaper than the one in the hotel and it has a cover so you don’t get sunburn.
When you go on the safari you go through rivers and you have lunch on a restaurant that is built over the running river. Its great for the kids.
I think the waiters have to be trained better because one of the most constant noises I seared was plates and glasses being dropped by over - confident waiters. When I was almost going home the waiters were totally over worked by the amount of people wanting coke and beer and vodka while the waiters are dropping glasses everywhere.
It was an ok holiday but I could stay away from the complex more if I went again.
