Fantastic Holiday!

The brochure is a bit misleading in terms of selling it as a Premier Families hotel as you have to use the sister hotel (St George Hotel)for evening entertainment and it says there are daytime activites when it doesn't really happen, however, I can't fault anything else with the Hotel. We went with our 2 children and can't fault it. Staff are very pleasant and friendly bending over backwards for you, the rooms are very clean and spatious with kitchen facilities even though it is all inclusive which I think is useful to have. I could not fault the food at all - fantastic with plenty to choose from and all varieties of alcoholic drinks available. The hotel is right on the beachfront, there is a park etc and with 2 children there was more than enough to do. Let me put it this way - have been to various resorts before and never actually stayed in the complex for 6 consecutive days without leaving it so I think that says it all!!

we stayed st the st george gardens, next door to the st george. I found this hotel everything we were looking for. I travelled with my husband and two children ages 6 and 4 and we all had a ball. The food was nice and the drink was to. The good thing was it was all waiter service, even at the pool. Animation team very good and good with kids, the entertainment at night was good as well. I found this holiday very relaxing as it is a smallish hotel, never had to get up for sunbeds, no cueing for meals it was all great. I have just booked up again for next year, we loved it that much.

Fantastic Value for Money

We have just enjoyed a week long stay at the St George Gardens Hotel in Paphos, and would recommend this resort to anyone wishing to visit Cyprus.
The views overlooking the sea from the hotel are spectacular, and the grounds are very well kept and everywhere is spotless.
The staff were all very friendly, and accomodating. We were there for a family wedding, and the staff were fantastic in making the day as memorable as possible.
The hotel is a bit of a maze, mainly because it's built on a hillside, so you have to change lifts to get from reception on floor 4, to the restuarant on floor 1, but you soon get familiar with the layout.
The sister hotel next door (St George Hotel) is spectacular, and if you are on the All Inclusive package, you can take advantage of free drinks at the two main bars after 8.30pm. The entertainment in the St George's hotel was very good, with some nights better than others, but overall it helped to make our holiday very enjoyable.
The only negative that I would make, is that most flights from the UK to Cyprus arrive late on your first day, and you can't get anything to eat on the All Inclusive package after 10pm, and then on your last day, the All Inclusive finishes at 3pm (and your return flight will usually be a late flight), which is a bit of a con.
There is a good walkway along the coast, but it's too far to walk into Paphos Town itself, allthough you can get a bus for about 1 Euro. Paphos harbour is well worth a visit, and there's some good shopping too.
The restuarant choice was fairly good, with a reasonable array of meals for lunch and dinner, however it lacked spicy food and the childrens meals were a bit bland. But it didn't stop us all putting on plenty of weight.
The drinks included on the All nclusive package were excellent, especially the cocktails, which went down well with the ladies.
Overall, a very good hotel.

The staff were exceptionally rude...

Aug 2008, Mrs M Lyons

The staff were exceptionally rude with the exception of only one!
We had arranged a wedding reception there with someone to be taking drinks for us that never happened!
When asking for our rooms not to be made up on certain occasions, they still went ahead and entered our room.
4 of us ate at the restaurant in the st. georges hotel and got food poisoning with me being in hopital the night before our wedding.
I had a wax in the spa and was left with burns under my arms, when i complained i was told something was going to be done and it never was.
food is average and not one thing is out standing in neither the hotel or apartments.
definately would not recommend the st. george!!!!

Please do not listen to any reviews saying this hotel is okay... it was amazing! We go every year and always stay at st. george's.
The hotel is beautiful, very clean and the hotel staff are very friendly. Coral bay is around a 5 min taxi ride and the harbour taxi ride is around 7 mins. The taxi's very fairly priced (around £5).
Honestly if you go to cyprus, St.george's is the place to stay

St Georges Gardens is what i would...
6 / 10
Feb 2008, Mr G Tanner

St Georges Gardens is what i would class as a smallish hotel next door to the St Georges Hotel, which by all accounts is very nice.
The Rooms are spacious and Clean, The staff very friendly and helpfull and generally offers a good overall standard, not sure if you could class as 4 star.
We went all inclusive in February, Food although tasty was very limited in choice and in my view was the worst from a choice point of view we have ever had, it might however be because the hotel was by no means full and due to the time of year.
St Georges is well away from Central Paphos, but a great bus service is available from 100m away, every 10 mins into Paphos for approx £1
This was our 4th visit to Paphos and 4th different hotel, to be honest there is better, would recommend the Ledra or Cypria Bay before the St Georges, but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with nice coastal walks close by its a fits the bill.
Car hire available over the main road, great price and good cars.
ps dont get pulled into the Timeshare sales presentation in Paphos, scratch card win, we did and were held hostage for an hour, its a con!!!!!, not that we were buying.

This was our second visit to this hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good relaxing holiday. The room was spotless cleaned each day except sunday, the choice of food at all meals was excellent. There were helpful cheerful staff in resturants and bars.
Reception open 24 hours with very helpful staff indeed. The pool areas were clean and caters for young children, the garden area leads down to the beach created by the hotel where there is a safe area for swimming.
The waiting staff are around all day offering drinks service as you soak up the sun in the garden.
There was entertainment during the day for children and adults to enjoy, the entertainments team run by Boris were excelent in 14 days we had a different show each night across in the sisiter hotel The St George which is reached by a short stroll through the gardens.
Whether you are a couple or a family this hotel is there to be enjoyed by all, you will be made welcome and looked after by an efficient expierenced staff all round. We will most certainly be back in the future

Have just returned from a wonderful...

Have just returned from a wonderful few days at this hotel, which is modern and very clean throughout.
The food was good and there was plenty available at all times. It was quiet and peaceful although nonstop entertainment was available at the St. George Hotel next door for those that wanted a bit of "night life"!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and our apartment was very spacious with excellent air conditioning, comfortable beds and was exceptionally well equipped. There were lots of sunbeds in the pool and gardens area, although not so many on the beach.
The drinks menu on the all inclusive package was extensive and mixers were brand names rather than cheap imitations, wine with meals was plentiful and good. We didn't bother leaving the hotel area during our stay and were quite happy relaxing by the pool or on the beach, although I would agree that perhaps for some the location of the hotel might be a bit far away from the main town.
Although we didn't have children with us the hotel seemed to be very "family friendly" with lots of facilities for children.
If there was a downside for me it was that the beach is more of a man made terrace filled with sand and that the only available area for swimming in the sea is a lagoon type structure with a rock bottom which is accessed via a wooden walkway.
Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short and return home early due to illness of a family member and I was sorry to have to leave!!! I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Fairly nice hotel. Average to good...

Fairly nice hotel. Average to good food depends on night. Terrible wine list with terrible wine.
Local bars (all three of them) were a lot cheaper for drinks not that the hotel was expensive
Very rural location.
Bus service into Paphos good, bus service into Coral Bay also good but nothing there.
Entertainment in hotel rubbish, they really have no idea. Nothing surrounding the hotel.
Staff nice. Rooms ok, kept clean.
Generally very quiet in hotel, mainly older couples. Hope this helps.

My family and I upgraded to this accommodation as our initial reservation was sub standard. This place is absolutely fantastic, faultless even.
The staff are friendly, the rooms are impeccable, and the food is excellent. If you want a wonderful holiday, then this is the place to stay. We will definitely go back again next year.
Try and book a room with a sea view - you will not be disappointed. Coral Bay, in my opinion, is very relaxing and beautiful, but it's only just a few minutes’ drive into Paphos if you feel like being a bit more lively.
The St George Gardens is right next door to the St George Hotel, whose facilities you are able to use. My partner and I stayed at the St George Hotel a couple of years ago, and it too is great.
The food and drinks are not over-priced in either venue and the choice is very good.
Both the St George Gardens and the St George Hotel have something to offer for all age groups.
Not the cheapest of places to stay, but definitely worth every penny!

My wife myself and 4 year old had absolutely no complaints. The food was excellent, the children's club was friendly and Claire loved going to it, the swiming pool was always clean and usually quiet. I made use of the gym which although small was never busy.
the staff were very friendly. The in-house team who were supposed to arrange sports etc didnt do much to stimulate interest but otherwise excellent and we intend to return next year
