" We Just had a lovely week at Barbie... "

We Just had a lovely week at Barbie appartments. Vangelis and Barbara were fantastic hosts as were their whole family. They keep the entire place very clean and it is also very informal and relaxed. Exactly what we were looking for. The pool is beautiful and there are plenty of sun loungers to go round. We loved that even while fully booked, It is quite a small complex so never too crowded. Very peaceful with everything you could need. The Supermarkets and restuarants are only a 5 minute walk away and the beach maybe 10 minutes. Expect all the restuarants to look the same with the food served pictured on displays and because of the euro it won't be as cheap as first expected. All very good quality though and if you want something a touch more traditional pop intothe greek taverna, San Allotte. Another family business but without all the touristy pictures etc and the best greek food. If you don't want to venture out the food at Barbies is very good. The Greek night is a must and a lot of fun. We took the advice of one of the reviews we read and didn't bother with the coach transfers and found this to be a good move. So easy and quick and only up to 15 euros each way.
We would reccomend this for a chilled week away and look forward to going back.

The apartments are in 2 blocks - the pool side with mainly Dutch residents and us Brits across the road. Check in was efficient and the rooms were fine. Bed linen & towels changed 3 times during the week and the trash emptied daily.
We had lunch there nearly every day along with a couple of breakfasts and the food & service was fine and the prices were very good. The pool area wasn't cleaned whilst we were there, but maybe people should tidy up after themselves a little more, especially the smokers...
The apartments were in a decent spot, up a little dark lane. The resort was fine too. We'd recommend the pizzas at the Kitchen Bar and the Bar Royal for friendly staff & service. We went into Rhodes town on the bus which cost €1.8 for adults and €0.9 for kids.
Taxis were €9 - fixed price. Rhodes Town has some nice shops but was a lot dearer for food & drink - obviously catering for the cruise ships.
All in all, these apartments and the resort are fine for a week of chilling' out and Rhodes Town is near enough when you want a change. Near to the airport too - I'll get a taxi if I go again.

Just come back from two lovely weeks in Trianda, the Barbie Apartments are excellent value for money. Barbara and Vangellis cannot do enough for you. The meals and drinks at the Barbie are excellent value for money. Spoke to many guests who say they that they come back year after year.
The apartments are only five minutes away from the high street but sufficient enough to be quiet at night. Barbeque night at the Barbie is every fortnight and should not be missed.
Symi is a must nearly four hours on the boat and once you get there the scenery is to die for. Don't buy the trip through the rep as they charge 39 euros instead of 23 from the high street. All in all an excellent holiday and would recommend the Barbie to anyone.

" Our stay at the Barbie Apartments in... "
Submitted By: Mrs S Peel
Our stay at the Barbie Apartments in Trianda Rhodes was very enjoyable.
The apartment was large, the kitchen was adequate as we ate out most of the time.
There was an electric kettle (a luxury compared with previous Greek commodities) an oven and grill and three hotplates. Pots and pans crockery etc.
The living area had a bed settee which pulled out to make two single beds which we didn’t need as there was a separate twin bedroom with patio doors out onto a terrace (we were on the ground floor other two floors had a balcony.
There was a good size full bathroom with bath & shower. We had lots of cupboards and drawers too.
The apartments are in two blocks. The main block has the swimming pool and is two storeys. The other block is across a small road opposite. It is small and friendly and has karaoke nights and BBQs with Greek dancers.
Everything is spotlessly clean and the food at the apartments is excellent. And very reasonably priced. Drinks too are good value, beer 2 Euros a pint. coffee and tea 1 euro 50 cents. wine 3 euro 50 for a 500 ml carafe.
It is only a 5 minute walk to the main street which runs through the village which has lots of shops and tavernas. The beach is a further 5 minutes walk. Taxis were plentiful and only 9 Euros into Rhodes town. buses were regular and although slower only cost 1 euro 80 cents each way into Rhodes town.
All in all well recommended for a quiet Greek holiday with good access to the rest of the island, whether by hire car or coach trip.

" This is the cleanest, well run self... "
Submitted By: Miss M Davies
This is the cleanest, well run self catering apartments I have ever been in. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Barbara and Vangelis who run the Barbie are very warm and friendly people and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The food at the Barbie is superb, well presented and good value for money, I can personally recommend the full English breakfast fantastic.
The pool area is clean and there are beds readily available for all, although the one side of the pool area is in constant shade, which is good when it becomes very hot during the day. I hope to return to the Barbie next year which is something I have never done in the past which is to return to a hotel or resort that I have visited previously. I would recommend the Barbie to anyone looking for excellent food, great hospitality and a relaxing holiday in excellent accommodation.
This is the 3rd time we have spent a holiday at these apartments.
They are family run by Barbara and Vangelis Kipriotis who both give a very warm welcome - if we hadn’t enjoyed it the first time we wouldn’t have returned!
They are the cleanest apartments I have stayed in on any of the Greek Islands so far, and provide breakfasts and meals throughout the day and evening giving excellent value for money.
We will definitely go back another year as do so many other guests from Britain and the Netherlands, we have seen many familiar faces again this year.
At present there is no air conditioning in several of the apartments but apparently this will be rectified in the coming years. <
