JULY 2011 MR AND MRS WAITE
What a great holiday !!!!! We were very concerned on reading negative reviews of the hotel before our departure....We found no fault what so ever with the Finas.
For the price paid, the room was exactly as we expected... basic, attractive and clean. It had it's own large terrace which was lovely to sit at of a late evening.
You do need air conditioning... 45 euros for a week. It's well worth it. As you don't need your doors and windows open with air conditioning, this locked out the noise from the bar, which so many people seem to moan about. Never heard it ......... and we weren't that far away from it.
Pool area is fab..... so many sunbeds to chose from... and the pool and surrounding area were not at all dirty...
We went out every evening to local restaurants. The best meal was the one night we remained at the Finas and had a barbeque..... 7 euros........ and the portion was huge. !!!
The staff were all friendly and helpful...
The supermarket alonside the Finas is accomodating.... has everything you need..... it only takes less than a m inute to walk there from the pool area.
The shops, restaurants and beach are literally a 10 minute stroll downhill...... so much to chose from........
We spent a day in Turkey on the boat trip the Finas offered for 50 euros each....a few hours in the market were well worth it....and the reps were lovely.
All in all, we had a fab time, and have nothing bad to say about the Finas.... ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY X

Having read some of the reviews about Finas I was worried we had made a mistake, but its always the same some people moan at everything. The apartment was basic but clean and had everything we needed for self catering. The pool area was nice and pleny of sun beds. The music was loud at night and could upset some people but our apartment was away from the pool area. Staff were friendly and helpfull. a nice holiday resort, Great places to eat and nice quite beach and a busy beach the other end of the town. I would go back, but same old story You only get what you pay for.

I have just returned from two weeks in the dreaded finas apartments, booked with olympic got to the airport started checking in and then thats when the checkin girl decided to pass a letter down the line to say the flight was delayed by 2hours,great start.Ended getting to the finas at 5.30 am sunday.Reception kept my passport and got stroppy when i asked for it back, they said it would be safe in there safe, they gave us room 105 a very small room with one window and door.bathroom was full of mould, furniture was old and mishaped, cleaner came in everyday wether you wanted them or not, dont no what they cleaned it wasnt the floor where furniture stood because we found a pair of shoes from previous prisoners ,i mean holiday makers.Smoke alarm not working, door left open by cleaner and lucky we was not robbed as we were out all day.Bar area was never cleaned, tables left dirty and sticky all day and nite, the pool area had glasses and bottles from previous day, food was cold and bar staff are too busy chatting girls up to serve you.Pefkos is a lovely place and the locals are friendly but stear clear of the FINAS.
- Advice: Dont expect anything and you wont be upset when you dont get it

I was only looking for basic and clean, got the basic but definitely not the clean. Shabby studio with dirty skirting boards and filthy grouting around bath/shower. One of the mattresses had large rips in it.
The pool area was dark and grubby looking and the entertainment was mainly karaoke from hell! You had to listen whether you wanted to or not because it was so loud.
Inadequate cooking facilities (had to ask for a kettle and when I did get one it was a very dangerous device). Had to ask for towels on the fourth day and was told by others that they had to make do with the same towels for the whole week!
The only bonus was that Pefkos is a lovely resort and my studio did have a lovely sea view (I really pity any one who did not have a view as it would have been a very very depressing living environment).
Maybe you do get what you pay for be believe me I would rather pay even a couple of hundred more than stay in this dump again.

This year (2010)we, my wife family and i decided to give our holiday at the Finas a miss!!!!!!
This is unlike us as we have visited this hotel at least once a year for the last 15 years.
Our last holiday (2009)was a complete disappointment,
You will read other reviews which state that if you are not constantly putting money over the bar then the staff dont want to know you , THIS IS TRUE,
You will also read that the place is rundown , THIS IS ALLSO TRUE and very unfortunate.
You will read that the atmosphere in the bar and the attitude of the staff can be cold, THIS IS TRUE.
I felt that after 15 years that I had to comment , we have had some great times here and the place last year (2009)now leaves a lot to be desired.
Dont let this put you off going to Pefki it is still a great place to visit , we may go this year , but we will not be staying in the Finas.
then again we may go to Malta as we did in 2010, good hotel, nice people good food great bars and cheap!!!!!!!

We went to the Finas at the end of September and I was worried having read other reviews;
Good points; Our apartment was clean, sheets and towels were changed regularly.
The pool was also clean and we did not have a problem with sun beds.
Lovely gardens, lots of kittens and the peacocks.
Food and drink was reasonable (though drinks seemed weak)!
Poor points; The bar is very loud and the music level gets louder after midnight. I enjoy a good fun night but you could not sleep because of the noise despite shutting the doors. I think this would be a real problem for families.
The rep pointed out the loud music at the welcome meeting and just said that people were on holiday and it should be tolerated and does not last that long (2am was an average but it had been later).
The music is also very repetative - my work colleagues found it hilarious when I told them that five U2 records were played every night in a certain order and we would count them down awaiting sleep.
The entertainment was karioke, karioke, karioke..... And I would agree with others who say the emphasis is on loud, drunken adult fun. That's fine in the right context but arguably this presents as a family hotel.
The complex gives an impression of being rundown and generally the staff do not interact much. An example would be that there is a useful launderette but to get to it you go through a large room used as a store room, full of broken items etc. The public toilets smell foul.
The apartment was very small and argueably a divided studio - it was big enough for two of us but really a bedroom, bathroom, small gally kitchen of fridge, sink and two hobs, and a back room with two bed and wardrobe. It was very dark. As a family you would struggle.
Air conditioning was 90 euros.
Pefkos is a nice place but it is modern Greece, i.e.bars,tavernas, clubs etc. Don't expect little streets and local culture. The beach is excellent. There are lots of play facilities for children attached to bars. You do need to compare prices for eating as some tavernas etc are quite expensive.
There is football, football, football every where on screens in all the bars and at the hotel. I craved a quiet bar, MTV / VH1 or a film.
We are Greece addicts so I am comparing with my other holidays. The cooking facitilies are very basic - usual for Greece but you could not cook a meal - don't expect that. There isn't a feeling of typical Greece nor do the locals, if there were any, appear as we have experienced prior of friendly people who are genuinely want to talk to you.
There is an excellent local bus service - forget the very expensive trips! Rhodes old town and Lindos should be visited. Be wary of asking for drinks at Rhodes Old Town - check prices first! (We were stung - 19 euros for two beers). You can ride a donkey to the acropolis in Lindos - but it is not that far if you are reasonably fit and they stop at the entrance - the main climb is after.
In summary, we would go to Pefkos again but if you want oldie, worldy Greece of the Mama Mia type don't go as this resort could be anywhere. We would not stay again at the Finas.
We got a half price late deal - it was value for money and we enjoyed ourselves, but I would not have said that if I had paid full price.

We've just come back from a week's stay at Finas Apartments. Before going we were aware of some negative reviews about this accomodation but were very pleased to find that they were unfounded. The room, furniture and utensils were basic but adequate for our needs and the staff were attentive to our requirements. The pool area wasn't overcrowded and sunbeds were available any time we needed them. Bar and food prices seemed to be in line with other establishments within the resort. The position of our apartment (No. 204) was quite high and gave us good views of the sea but would not be suitable for people with mobility problems.
- Advice: Pevkos is an unspoilt resort very suitable for families and not very expensive

Just returned from our weeks holiday at the Finas Hotel. We stayed in apartment number 210, as far back and as high as you could get, and it was perfect. It was very private, and we looked onto all the other blocks from our balcony.Haven't got any major complaints about the apartments, but the music in the bar at night was very loud, even for us, who don't normally mind. The resort itself is lovely, and so relaxing. The main strip is about 5 mins walk (right, out of Finas)and is full of different restaurants, bars and shops. We had a really nice meal at the Nikolas Taverna (left out of Finas). The food and atmosphere were lovely, and overlooking the sea, which was nice too. Went into Lindos, by taxi, which cost 8 euros. Well worth the visit. We would definitely go back, but maybe after trying other Greek islands first.

We were very concerned on reading negative reviews of the hotel before our departure....but all in all we found no fault with the Finas.
For the price paid, the room was exactly as we expected... basic (though a little grubby and in need of refurbishment)and convenient to all the amenities. It had it's own large terrace which, even though it was out of the sun,was at the back of the complex so therefore blocked out the sometimes noisy evening bar.
You do need air conditioning... 38 euros for a week- and it's well worth it as you don't need your doors and windows open therefore locking out the noise, which so many people seem to moan about though we were not affected by it and it tended to ease up by the latest 1am.
We expereinced no rowdiness, all the clientel and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Pool area is nice..... so many sunbeds to chose from... and the pool and surrounding area were not at all dirty.
The supermarket alongside the Finas is accomodating.... has everything you need..... it only takes less than a m inute to walk there from the pool area.
The shops, restaurants and beach are literally a 10 minute stroll downhill...... so much to chose from.
We did not use the hotel's restaurant but heard good reports about it.
However, turn left from the Fina's, walk about 300 mtrs and turn right at the Taverna Nikolas. Turn right and follow the road down to the quieter beach (about 400mtrs)
All in all, we had a fab time and Pefkos is a lovely resort.
