Matina Apartments

Just arrived home after 2 weeks in pefkos - staying at the matina was the best decision of the holiday. right next to the fab beach with the clearest sea, the staff are all great from reception to the cleaners, both pools are lovely,but have never felt as welcome as we did at the pool next to the 'peoples bar' Kostas and the gang are great, nothing is too much trouble and had lots of laughs with them. A family holiday i would recommend to anyone. Close to lots of great restaurants and bars but to be fair you could just stay there all holiday and not be disappointed.

We have stayed here 3 times now and just love the whole layout. It is right by the long beach just down some steps and the shops and restaurants are many in this area. Matina apartments are well laid out and there is a fantastic swimming pool, bar, and childrens' play area. We enjoyed a greek night on site which included a wonderful barbecue with the entertainment. We could not fault anything really. Adults and children catered for at all times. Taxis to the next town or to rhodes are reasonable or take the frequent bus from a few yards on the main road. Anyone staying here at matina will not be disappointed- i can assure you.

We have just returned from our 1st sun holiday as a family and cannot rate this hotel/complex highly enough. All the staff that we met here were so helpful and friendly - reception, supermarket, bars/restaurant and cleaning staff. Everybody was super. We had a 1bed apartment and it was fab. Very spacious, clean and modern. The balcony was huge too. The complex was ideal for our son too. He is 17 months old and not too keen on the pool so the covered play area was well used, we would have been lost without it. It's only a small walk to the beach and there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by. It's also only a short walk into the main resort of Pefkos. Pefkos is a fantastic location for family holidays. Every bar and restaurant is very child friendly with play areas etc.
All in all we loved it here and if we go back to Rhodes we will defintely stay at the Matina again.

Easily the best holiday we've ever had. We stayed in the Matina in September, we've travelled to Greece before but never to Rhodes and never come across anywhere as lovely and quaint as Pefkos. The Matina is only a 2 minute walk to the beautiful Pefkos beach, and has 2 pools, 2 bars and also it's own restaurant and supermarket. We found our much needed home comforts in the supermarket. The staff here are very welcoming...
Everyone is perfect English speaking and is more than happy to accommodate your needs...
The rooms were lovely. We were in the "older" blocks but still the rooms are more than adequate and cleaned regularly and thoroughlly.
Overall, a brilliant holiday and we plan to visit again next year!!!

Just returned from the Matina- our 3rd visit in 4 years.This was our 1st visit to the new Matina-they have added another swimming pool,2 new apartment blocks,another pool bar,restuarant & supermarket since we last came in 2008.
With all these changes the Matina has lost a bit of it's intimacy & character- but is still by far the best place to stay in Pefkos.
We had room 611 which has fantastic views of the sea & both pool areas.Staff were very friendly, but did miss seeing Yiota, who left prior to the changes.
Being the back end of September, everywhere was reasonably quiet- not many kids about- mainly elderly people.This caused a lack of atmosphere as the pool areas were very quiet during the day as most people hit the beach.
Pefkos itself was as nice as ever- great beach & choice of restuarants. A special mention goes to the Anixis- great food,great service & cheap prices.
I look forward to returning to the Matina in the future. It is a shame that Thomas Cook have hiked the prices up for next year. I suppose all the new buildings have to be paid for some how.

Have just come back from a 6th visit to Matina and loved every minute of it. We were greeted like long lost friends when we arrived at reception. We were given a lovely apartment with sea view. Spent most days around new pool but did go on glass bottom boat yet again to Lindos but will not be doing that again as the owner was a real misery and didn't explain places at all and also found that it was very difficult getting off boat this year as he stopped in a different place. The majority of evenings we ate at Zorbas, set menu a good price with a huge choose of dishes also went to Smiles and had Gyros at Alexandars. Spent time drinking in Fuse Bar and and sometimes in Peoples Bar. The weather was very good in fact sometimes it was really hot. The Staff at Matina were always cheerful and ready to help with any problems. Unfortunately the Greek Nights were cancelled due to lack of support but most nights Costas had a quiz at Peoples bar. The supermarket on site is very good and stocks a wide range of goods and the staff are very friendly. have already booked for next September.

The Matina is in the perfect place for that perfect holiday.Two great pools and no problem getting a sunbed. Two great bars and restaurants with other great eateries close by.The supermarket out front is very good with reasonable prices. All of the staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you, however our apartment was the only downside to the whole of our holiday. Room 505 needs a total clean out and is the only room ive ever stayed in where you could not see out of the windows as they had frosted glass. The shower curtain was filthy and the shower room had an army of dead bugs decorating the ceiling. There were other problems and when we asked for a room change we were told out of the question as the place was full up. So we bit the bullet and decided to make the most of it and carried on with the holiday. At least the beds were clean !!! Having said all that we did have a fantastic time and if you request a certain room or block when booking they will try and accomodate you.(NOW WE KNOW) We met some lovely people at the Matina and we will definately return, but not to room 505.

Went with my husband and 8 year old son in July 2010. We had an absolutely wonderful time. We met some lovely people, the apartments were very, very clean, the food was excellent and well we just can't say enough good things about Matina Apartments. We are now booking again to go back to the same place, same time in 2011. Taking our mums with us this time round.

young couple aged 22 from sunderland. june 5th to 13th.
well what can we say about the matina hotel, soon as you arrive you get a welcoming feeling, the bar staff were very friendly and made it a great atmosphere. the room we had was in the old part of the hotel but was still acceptable, wasnt a horrible room but livable nothing special. travelling to lindos is only ten min taxi away and great to see, you can also get the bus time tables for this.Food prices are I would say same as england no deerer no cheaper not too bad and nice food. music is turned off at twelve but still get entertained from the bar man kostas and serria a gud laugh. we enjoyed our stay and would definately think about going back, met some good friends and had a great time.

This is a very well thought out, small complex with plenty to entertain families. I was particularly impressed with the covered childrens play area. It is very near the beach and there are pleanty of tavernas and bars on the doorstep. Also suitable for couples of all ages. The entertainment could have been better but it was very early in the season
