Center Parcs Sherwood Forest Reviews
" Having previously visited the Oasis... "
Submitted By: Miss Kl JonesThe accommodation was superb, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne and Belgian chocolates on arrival and on the kitchen table was a lovely flower arrangement and above the front door was a wreath to set the setting ready for Christmas.
The executive one bedroom apartment that we stayed in was excellent we had our own personal sauna which was amazing and a corner bath with jets which was like our own personal Jacuzzi, the bedroom was huge and the only disappointment was the split sheets on the dead but the cleanliness of the actual accommodation I could not fault.
The kitchen was pretty modern with fridge and small freezer compartment, microwave and cooker with extractor fan.
The kitchen was of open plan but was spacious enough and the actual sitting area was plenty big enough for 3 with 2 two seater sofas a large coffee table and a television complete with DVD and a stereo system.
This was good value for money using the discount we had and I would definitely visit again, the facilities were great and there were plenty of Christmas themed activities too so this was ideal.

" Excellent relaxed holiday. Whether... "
Submitted By: RelaxedThis keeps the whole family occupied in a friendly atmosphere.
Forget the car and spend the week getting from your lodge to areas of the PRC by cycle.
Plenty of chutes, slides, hot tubs, etc.
Pleasant surroundings with plenty of wildlife to watch as you relax in your lodge or on the patio.
Some of the restaurants are expensive although we were served Indian meals second to none.
Could really come here every month... to wind down!

" Well, we've just returned from this... "
Submitted By: D BrownThe accommodation left a lot to be desired. Although on the face of it, it looked very nice, underneath some quite horrible things lurked. Our bed sheets were ripped and torn and on the last day my one year old found a mouldy orange juice cartoon under a bathroom sink which had obviously been there for months. Unfortunately we didn't get to him until he had put it into his mouth a couple of times. He has now been quite ill for almost a week and we will be speaking to Centre Parcs on a personal basis.
Overall we won't be going back due to the cleanliness of the villa. We don't expect this in two star accommodation let alone Centre Parcs second best.
A quite unhappy customer!!!!

" Hi
Well I went to Center... "
Well I went to Center Parcs - Sherwood Forest in September 2005 and wow what a pleasant surprise it was. Loved it! Went with a little girl aged 8 months and it was perfect. Activities are a plenty whether you have an infant or a teenager. Restaurants are proper restaurants great choices ranging from French, Italian, Indian, Al la Carted or pub grub along with a burger bar as well. Swimming pool fab and if you are taking a baby under 3 they do a baby dolphins club at 9:15am (FREE) in the pool for 45 mins (most days - check in resort) for just infants of 3 and under and sing songs etc - which I thought was great!
There is a supermarket on site so we went straight there got our provisions for the week - and if you spend over £45 they deliver to your chalet. Chalets are great we stayed in the basic chalet (comfort) - which was perfect, overlooking the lake. Going again in Jan for my daughters 1st birthday and we are staying in a comfort plus - give that one a try. A lot of the executive villas are a bit out of the way so try and stay close to the village centre is my advice - you can pick your villa before you arrive for a little extra charge.
The Spa on the Center Parcs village is another World and if you book 2 or more sessions in the crèche you get a £5 discount for the spa. The crèche was brilliant - facilities great and plenty of staff on hand.
Try the Pancake House for their carver which I think is Sunday and Tuesday. Also they have fantastic menus for sweet and savoury pancakes at any other time!
All in all I could write pages and pages on Center Parcs as I thought it was brilliant - and this is why we are due to go back in Jan 2006.
Although I hear on the grape vine that Sherwood Forest is the best one to go to if anyone is thinking of going.

Submitted By: Mr M GilesAn excellent time was had by all with a range activities for all ages and abilities. Cycling around proved a challenge at first but my 5 year old loved riding along on the back in a trailer.
Swimming pool was excellent. We spent 4 hours one day in the pool alone wit a range of slides to keep everyone interested.
The accommodation was a little disappointing but you get what you pay for. We were in the most basic comfort accommodation. That said we hardly spent any time in the villa as there was so much to see and do.

Submitted By: Mr G ToogoodOnce we settled in we cycled to the swimming pool. Take a bike some villas can be quite a hike from the centre, and a word of warning pack a bike lock too. Bike theft is a minor problem, not many stolen bikes leave the site, most are just "borrowed" and turn up later.

However it is a bind when a bike goes missing. Our one big disappointment was that the new ride, due to open Christmas 05, was still not operational.
That said we all had a thoroughly good time.
" What a fantastic holiday, this was... "

This holiday can either be totally relaxing or energetic for the younger ones. Every sport imaginable. My daughter enjoys badminton, tennis, rollerblading, keep fit, archery, pony rides, table tennis, cycling, canoeing and of course swimming (everyday and sometimes night) in the fantastic pool (nice and clean) with all its extras, flumes, Jacuzzis, water slides, water rapids (cool) and now the length swimming pool (we visited this each morning, kept us nice and fit).

The villas are always spotless which is one of the reasons we keep coming back (in past visited some very dirty accommodation) also modern and comfortable. Enjoy the restaurants and shops and of course the sweetie shop.

All of our family are animal lovers so we love nothing more than waking in the morning and being met by visitors at the door - squirrels, swans, Canada geese, ducks, lots of birds, rabbits and even sometimes cats (although they are now more under control). And of course on a very hot day we can enjoy a sit on the beach and watch people windsurfing (how relaxing).

Where we stop is close to the children’s outdoor play areas (3 in total) so that is great fun for the kids as well, my daughter this year also had a lesson in watercolour painting which she really enjoyed so as I said before there is something for everyone so you can never get bored on this holiday. FANTASTIC!

We are already planning our next holiday there after Christmas. One nice thing about Center Parcs is that it does not matter whether you visit summer or winter (we have done both) as the swimming dome is so warm (tropical conditions) and it is great walking through the woodlands in the snow!

The only downside is that it is really expensive to go, but it is totally worth the expense, there is a lot to do, and it is really fun and an active weekend away, set in the wonderful Sherwood Forest, beautiful.
