" I have been going to Center Parcs for... "

I have been going to Center Parcs for 19 years and I am 19 years old. Me and my family have been around 22 times. This was our first time at Oasis Whinfell and we enjoyed every moment!

The accommodation were fantastic with an open view plan and loads of space just to relax and be on your own. The level of privacy is amazing, you can step outside your back door and you would have to make an effort to see anyone.

The activities are very diverse and are enjoyable for all ages. The availability can be tricky but book early and you will be fine!

The swimming pool is large, with lots of slides and different things to try.

The environment is amazing just to look at, the amount of wildlife that is at your door is astonishing.

For D Brown above, do you realise how many villas the cleaners have to clean!! It is amazing the level of cleanliness that is achieved! I'm guessing that if I were to visit your house it wouldn't be half as clean!

To everyone who is interested in going to Center Parcs, I would not listen to Mr. D Brown! Take it from me a person who has been many more times than him, if you go to Sherwood Forest or Oasis Whinfell I can say by past experience you will not be disappointed!

" Center Parcs is amazing for all the... "

Center Parcs is amazing for all the family, we went in October 2004, and it was wonderful, I was so impressed, the villas are super! And there is a lot to do!!! A great weekend away!

The only downside is that it is really expensive to go, but it is totally worth the expense, there is a lot to do, and it is really fun and an active weekend away, set in the wonderful Sherwood Forest, beautiful.

" Having previously visited the Oasis... "

Having previously visited the Oasis Whinfell, we decided to book into Sherwood Forest using our come back soon discount offered by Center Parcs, we booked a midweek break the week before Christmas so we could relax and have some time away on our own.

The accommodation was superb, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne and Belgian chocolates on arrival and on the kitchen table was a lovely flower arrangement and above the front door was a wreath to set the setting ready for Christmas.

The executive one bedroom apartment that we stayed in was excellent we had our own personal sauna which was amazing and a corner bath with jets which was like our own personal Jacuzzi, the bedroom was huge and the only disappointment was the split sheets on the dead but the cleanliness of the actual accommodation I could not fault.

The kitchen was pretty modern with fridge and small freezer compartment, microwave and cooker with extractor fan.

The kitchen was of open plan but was spacious enough and the actual sitting area was plenty big enough for 3 with 2 two seater sofas a large coffee table and a television complete with DVD and a stereo system.

This was good value for money using the discount we had and I would definitely visit again, the facilities were great and there were plenty of Christmas themed activities too so this was ideal.

" Excellent relaxed holiday. Whether... "

Excellent relaxed holiday. Whether its lazing in the heated tropical dome or taking part sports or other activity.

This keeps the whole family occupied in a friendly atmosphere.
Forget the car and spend the week getting from your lodge to areas of the PRC by cycle.
Plenty of chutes, slides, hot tubs, etc.

Pleasant surroundings with plenty of wildlife to watch as you relax in your lodge or on the patio.

Some of the restaurants are expensive although we were served Indian meals second to none.

Could really come here every month... to wind down!

" Well, we've just returned from this... "

Well, we've just returned from this Centre Parcs. We booked a two bedroom executive villa for a mid-week break. Our first impressions were that the parcs was neat and tidy with lots of thins to do, even if your children were very young. (Ours was one year old).

The accommodation left a lot to be desired. Although on the face of it, it looked very nice, underneath some quite horrible things lurked. Our bed sheets were ripped and torn and on the last day my one year old found a mouldy orange juice cartoon under a bathroom sink which had obviously been there for months. Unfortunately we didn't get to him until he had put it into his mouth a couple of times. He has now been quite ill for almost a week and we will be speaking to Centre Parcs on a personal basis.

Overall we won't be going back due to the cleanliness of the villa. We don't expect this in two star accommodation let alone Centre Parcs second best.

A quite unhappy customer!!!!

" We went to Center Parcs for Christmas... "

We went to Center Parcs for Christmas and it was truly magical, we had a lake facing villa and had swans, ducks and geese knocking at our French doors every day. The forest was beautiful with all the snow making it postcard pretty and the new slide in the dome was very fun too. Our only disappointment was the lack of night life, we are a couple in our 30's without children and don't expect anything too much but felt we were not catered for and almost felt abit left out when it came to booking events as we were often shoved to the back of restaurants. It's a shame adults don't seem to get a place to go in the evening without children except the disco in the bowling alley venue where you can never get a seat.

Anyway we still loved it and will go again in hope of some better nightlife as there is more to a holiday evening than watching the telly, we can do that at home!

" Hi

Well I went to Center... "

Hi

Well I went to Center Parcs - Sherwood Forest in September 2005 and wow what a pleasant surprise it was. Loved it! Went with a little girl aged 8 months and it was perfect. Activities are a plenty whether you have an infant or a teenager. Restaurants are proper restaurants great choices ranging from French, Italian, Indian, Al la Carted or pub grub along with a burger bar as well. Swimming pool fab and if you are taking a baby under 3 they do a baby dolphins club at 9:15am (FREE) in the pool for 45 mins (most days - check in resort) for just infants of 3 and under and sing songs etc - which I thought was great!

There is a supermarket on site so we went straight there got our provisions for the week - and if you spend over £45 they deliver to your chalet. Chalets are great we stayed in the basic chalet (comfort) - which was perfect, overlooking the lake. Going again in Jan for my daughters 1st birthday and we are staying in a comfort plus - give that one a try. A lot of the executive villas are a bit out of the way so try and stay close to the village centre is my advice - you can pick your villa before you arrive for a little extra charge.

The Spa on the Center Parcs village is another World and if you book 2 or more sessions in the crèche you get a £5 discount for the spa. The crèche was brilliant - facilities great and plenty of staff on hand.

Try the Pancake House for their carver which I think is Sunday and Tuesday. Also they have fantastic menus for sweet and savoury pancakes at any other time!
All in all I could write pages and pages on Center Parcs as I thought it was brilliant - and this is why we are due to go back in Jan 2006.

Although I hear on the grape vine that Sherwood Forest is the best one to go to if anyone is thinking of going.

" As this is the families 8th stay at... "

As this is the families 8th stay at C.Parcs, Whinfell and Sherwood there were few surprises except the new Cascade ride which is good fun if you don’t mind the invariable wait. This time I was disappointed with the standard of cleanliness in the executive villa we had, considering what we paid because of the school holidays, could have been better. The price of food can be high and its not exceptionally good value, also the price of a pint keeps on rising!! One thing that did strike me was up at the feeding hide it seems contrived now and not at all natural. However, enough of the negatives as we've booked for next year something must be o.k. It’s a safe environment for children, plenty to do; the spa is very enjoyable, if you are lucky enough to get good weather, its great. Couple of tips, take a decent sized frying pan as they are small in the villa’s, also if you like a decent cup of tea take a good mug, again very small. This year saw the return of the quiz night, I have to say we all enjoyed it tremendously, we didn't win and it was a good job we'd got our granddaughter or we would have struggled!! Pity a few more didn't stay longer for the disco after all the work put in (by the way there should have been a few more bar staff) All in all If you take a good proportion of food to cook in plus a couple of nights out you cant go far wrong.

" Went on our 10th annual trip to... "

Went on our 10th annual trip to Center Parcs last week. 2 Adults, 2 Children. Great place for teenagers. They can do their own thing and you know they are safe. However, this is the first time I have not had a clean villa. I asked for it to be cleaned and they sent cleaners round who took the worst off but the villa needed a complete spring clean. Corners, light fittings/switches etc all full of grime. I’m allergic to house-dust mite so I do notice perhaps more than some people might. Some of the villas are getting tatty now which is to be expected for their age but the prices charged for just 5 days are high enough to warrant a clean villa I think.

Staff brilliant though, as usual.

" We have just returned from our first... "

We have just returned from our first visit to any Center Parcs ever at Sherwood Forest, Nottingham.

An excellent time was had by all with a range activities for all ages and abilities. Cycling around proved a challenge at first but my 5 year old loved riding along on the back in a trailer.

Swimming pool was excellent. We spent 4 hours one day in the pool alone wit a range of slides to keep everyone interested.

The accommodation was a little disappointing but you get what you pay for. We were in the most basic comfort accommodation. That said we hardly spent any time in the villa as there was so much to see and do.

" This was an excellent holiday.... "

This was an excellent holiday. Enjoyed by both young and old. Accommodation excellent, facilities excellent and not once did anyone say that they were bored. Only down side was the prices in the restaurants - we didn’t mind paying over the odds in the evenings but daytime prices could have been a little less. Kiddies menus were quite good value. Staff were friendly and efficient. A really relaxing holiday and the Aqua Sana was well worth the visit. Overall we had no complaints.

" Booking on the Internet was quick and... "

Booking on the Internet was quick and simple, with the pre arrival registration saving time on arrival. The villa was clean and tidy with great views of one of the numerous lakes, all of which team with wildlife.

Once we settled in we cycled to the swimming pool. Take a bike some villas can be quite a hike from the centre, and a word of warning pack a bike lock too. Bike theft is a minor problem, not many stolen bikes leave the site, most are just "borrowed" and turn up later.

However it is a bind when a bike goes missing. Our one big disappointment was that the new ride, due to open Christmas 05, was still not operational.

That said we all had a thoroughly good time.
" What a fantastic holiday, this was... "

What a fantastic holiday, this was actually the 13th time my family and I have visited Sherwood Forest Center Parcs. Something for all ages, my family consists of my great-grandparents, parents, myself and daughter (often her friends too).

This holiday can either be totally relaxing or energetic for the younger ones. Every sport imaginable. My daughter enjoys badminton, tennis, rollerblading, keep fit, archery, pony rides, table tennis, cycling, canoeing and of course swimming (everyday and sometimes night) in the fantastic pool (nice and clean) with all its extras, flumes, Jacuzzis, water slides, water rapids (cool) and now the length swimming pool (we visited this each morning, kept us nice and fit).

The villas are always spotless which is one of the reasons we keep coming back (in past visited some very dirty accommodation) also modern and comfortable. Enjoy the restaurants and shops and of course the sweetie shop.

All of our family are animal lovers so we love nothing more than waking in the morning and being met by visitors at the door - squirrels, swans, Canada geese, ducks, lots of birds, rabbits and even sometimes cats (although they are now more under control). And of course on a very hot day we can enjoy a sit on the beach and watch people windsurfing (how relaxing).

Where we stop is close to the children’s outdoor play areas (3 in total) so that is great fun for the kids as well, my daughter this year also had a lesson in watercolour painting which she really enjoyed so as I said before there is something for everyone so you can never get bored on this holiday. FANTASTIC!

We are already planning our next holiday there after Christmas. One nice thing about Center Parcs is that it does not matter whether you visit summer or winter (we have done both) as the swimming dome is so warm (tropical conditions) and it is great walking through the woodlands in the snow!
