We were a party of six, three adults...
7 / 10
Nov 2007, Mr J Smith

We were a party of six, three adults and three children. This was my first time to center parcs and because of the prices in the UK, we decided to go to this one in France. Even when taking into consideration the cost of fuel (20% cheaper in France) and the ferry we still saved over £150 on the UK price.
Although previous reviews were not very flattering, during our stay the majority of guests staying here were British. I thought the accommodation on the outside was looking a bit dated and tired looking. Inside, it did look as if it could do with a makeover, but it was clean and more than adequate for our stay. Accommodation was being updated, whilst we were there.
The swimming pool was a great hit, it had been updated, and more work was continuing whilst we were there, but this did not cause any problems.
The parc is fairly flat and easy to cycle/walk around. Most staff could speak a little English and communicating was not a problem. Overall, I thought the French staff were very good and tried to please and service was good.
The parc supermarket prices and restaurant prices were a little expensive. Fortunately, there is a hypermarket less than 10 minutes away, you pass it going to the parc and the town centre also only 10 minutes away.
I would highly recommend the town for a visit and to go out for a meal. I don’t know how this parc compares to the ones in the UK, but I would certainly come here again.

We have been to this Parc before...
3 / 10
Jul 2007, Mr I Lucas

We have been to this Parc before (2004) and found it OK. This time it was completely different.
Accommodation:
Our 'Cottage' was dirty, smelling of mould and damp, the cloakroom smelt of urine - clearly not cleaned.
The bathroom was mouldy, the tiles on the bath panel where loose and falling off.
The walls were covered in splatted mosquito debris - no attempt to clean them had been made.
The carpet made our feet dirty - we soon decided to keep shoes all the time!
The cottages opposite ours were undergoing a clearly long overdue refurbishment, the contractors leaving two beautifully big piles of old carpet and paint tins etc for the entire duration of our stay, such a treat to view!
The worst point was the ants - they were all over the mouldy skylight in the bathroom -they appeared to be 'evicting' larger flying ants by chewing their wings off and dropping them into the bathroom, every morning and evening I vacuumed them but more appeared within hours.
It was worse still in the kitchen - both the larger ants and the smaller ones seemed to surge into the room - dropping onto the food preparation areas and cooker - even onto us at times.
This became too much for the kids (youngest 2 years) so we decided to leave a day earlier than originally intended. Although this cost more in transport costs (re-arrange Tunnel) it was worth it because we didn't have to endure the squalor that this Parc has become and avoided the scrum to exit on the Friday morning.
The Parc:
Eating out was a con - 90 euro for microwaved lasagne + 4 bowls of pasta + a few soft drinks. They couldn't even deliver the meals all at the same time, so the kids had finished before my meal even appeared. This wasn't even a busy night.
On a plus side the creperie was cheap and good value.
The pool area was clearly being refurbished also - one of the pools that used to be both in and outside was just a stagnate pool - half covered in matting in an attempt to hide it.
The outside rapids were constantly shrouded in a very industrial smelling odour - fibreglass resin I think. This seems to have come from the new flumes being installed.
Conclusion: Never again.

Very very disappointing, the chalets...
6 / 10
Jun 2007, Mrs A Adams

Very very disappointing, the chalets were dirty and the whole parc felt unkempt.
When you try to complain very little English seems to be spoken and it is hard to get through.
The prices on the site were exorbitant and the food was not of the highest quality.
This is one site I certainly will not be visiting again.
