My family and I have just returned from one week staying at Het Meerdal, Holland, wow fantastic. Okay the extra activites do cost but Im sure that what everyone expects. The pool is fantastic, espeically the rapids. The kids can ride the rapids for 7.95 euros, this is an extra event they put on, you ride with floats, my 12 year old son loved it, sadly there was only one place left so my 9 yr old daughter missed out! Book early! The resturants are expensive but the cottages are so well equipped, no oven though, so cooking at home is easy and far cheaper. The Italian resturante was alot to be desired, my sons Pizza base still had flour seaping out, obviously not kneeded enough and my husbands pasta dish was so bland, you could almost taste the water it had cooked in, we were not charged for my husbands meal. The steak house was lovely but from the scenes you see on the Centre Parcs channel in the Cottage were not the same, steak half the size and a small portion of chips and tiny side salad, it was nice though. The best place but most expensive was the Market Resturante, this was a eat all you want buffet, with loads to choose from, delious but pricey, all the same, you didnt leave on an empty stomach. We had bad weather but still enjoyed it to the max, fantastic place and activities to choose from, I recommend it. Remember if you need a doctor, which my 2 year old son did, the receptionist was none too helpful and basically gave us an address and said go there. We turned up, only to find out we should of rung first but they were more than happy to see my son, fantastic out of hours surgery. This didnt put us off though. Only a few English there but most people were nice, but you always get the odd rude person everywhere, no matter what language, colour, creed! We have now booked again in May Half Term to another Centre Parcs so keep posted with our reviews, hope this was helpful. Remember to take loads of change for the slot machines, if your kids are in to this. Also Bowling is expensive after 6pm 25 euros for 55 minutes and in the day its 10 euros for half an hour! Mini golf well fun. Play area great entertainment for the kiddies. Take your dog, so dog friendly too.

My husband and 2 boys (aged 6 and 4) spent 5 fabulous days at the Dutch Centerparcs site. From the moment we got there the staff were very friendly and efficient (and impressively fluent in at least 3 languages). The bungalow was clean and well equipped, all common areas were spotless and everything was easy to get to.
Most importantly there were plenty of things to keep two very active boys busy. Because of a minor skin infection in my older child we could only use the swimming pool once, which I thought would be a problem but there were so many other things to do the children didn't seem to notice the lack of swimming.
The staff welcomed the children both during the day and at night in the restaurants and bars. The children’s clubs were well run and good fun. The best activity was a family day out on a mystery tour where we had to follow the clues which gave us a real sense of what the park was about. We saw an abundance of wildlife, deer, red squirrels, all sorts of birds. Not only was the whole experience fun but it was also highly educational. I cannot recommend Centerparcs enough - it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable family holidays where my husband and I felt that we were truly welcome as a family.
My only word of advice would be that if we had booked this holiday direct we would have saved about £200.
