This was our first visit to Morocco...

This was our first visit to Morocco and we were unsure what to expect. We had no reason to worry. The transfer from the airport was easy as was the checking in. Porters were on hand to help with luggage and the welcoming group of entertainers was nice. The room was fairly basic but adequate with twin beds and a television.
The balcony was small but sufficient. The bathroom area was a bit worn with age but clean and everything worked. Towels were clean and newish and changed every other day and the beds were made daily and changed twice in the week.
Food was great, a huge selection, well presented, with something for everyone. there is an additional choice of four a la carte restaurants which must be pre-booked. The entire complex is kept clean and tidy as are the four pools. The entertainment staff keep everyone occupied and amused.
There is a kids club and nightly family shows in the amphitheatre which can require a broad mind but are very funny. All staff members are extremely helpful and hard working. The complex itself is rambling amongst gardens and the architecture is varied and interesting. The site is on a number of differing levels and although there are steps all round most have access ramps and are in small groups making walking around easier. The beach is nearby, about 10 mins walk and is huge and clean.
The hotel has its own section roped off at the top for relaxing. Town is a good walk as is the market although local petit cabs are readily available, carry three people and generally will cost less than one pound. This is what you should expect from a good class three star hotel.
Rooms comfortable although not eloquently decorated, but who wants to spend their holiday in a hotel room. Proof of the pudding would we recommend it or go again? The answer to both is yes we have booked already for March 2007.

This was the second time my wife and i had spent at the Tamlelt. On both occasions we have had good transfers from airport to hotel and a warm welcome on arrival. The rooms are clean and towels are not ragged.
The food is ok - you will always find something to eat. The entertainment is good and everything stops at 11pm. The private beach is good and just nearby the Tahiti serves up good lunches. A nice place to relax for a week.

This hotel room was the most...
1 / 10
Oct 2005, Ms R Hughes

This hotel room was the most depressing room I have ever had to stay in. The TV was balanced on the safe (no remote, you had to hire that), the only chair was worn and ripped, the rest of the furniture was made of angle iron and glass, the metal brackets attaching the tables to the wall were rusting. There were no cupboards, just shelves next to the sink, the wardrobe was a rail and curtain. The plastic mirror over the sink was deteriorating to say the least. There was no way of plugging the sink and the towels supplied were ragged and torn. The bathroom was very basic, lots of mouldy grout and the bath was gritty and worn. Overall cleanliness was ok but a film of dist was on some surfaces.
The tiny balcony opened onto a main road which was noisy throughout most of the night even when closed, drowned out only by the karaoke.
The self serve restaurant was reminiscent of a school canteen with the same acoustics but with added flies on your table. the staff had the usual Moroccan friendliness and the food was limited in choice despite the range of restaurants, most had a set menu with only 2 or 3 choices.
The atmosphere was that of a Butlins camp, if you like loud music at any time of the day and karaoke at night then this is the place for you.
We transferred out after 24 hours (via our rep and at added expense). The Tamlelt was part of a 2-centre holiday for us, we had already spent 3 nights in Marrakech in a fabulous hotel (Tikida Garden), the contrast could not have been more extreme. First Choice should never have linked the two together. Photos available if required.

Although we found this hotel to be ok...

Aug 2005, Mrs J Eccleston

Although we found this hotel to be ok we heard a lot of bad remarks round the pool!! All 6 of our party had the runs sometime over the 2 weeks we were here. We were on Bed and Breakfast and that was really good although after 2 weeks it did get a bit boring. Eggs are cooked in front of you which is good. If you are on all inclusive you do have to book your evening meal between 9.30 and 10.30 that morning which seemed to be a hassle although we didn’t have to do it as we weren’t all inc.
The money change place opens from 10 till 12 then 4 to 8 so if like us you arrive at 1pm and are not all inc you will have trouble getting a drink as you wont have any dosh. The people are really friendly but the food outside the complex left a lot to be desired. One good place we did find was called La Jazz it was brilliant. The hotel has it own private part of the beach which was very good.
