Agadir Beach Club Hotel

Stayed in the Agadir Beach Club hotel in July for 1 week with my boyfriend. The hotel looks really nice from the outside but i was very disappointed with the room we were given, It had 2 single beds and the decor was awful. I complained the next day and we where moved to a deluxe suite on the 3rd floor, which was really nice, they even sent fresh red roses to our room most days. The hotel is very very large, we found it hard to find the beach! It has 4 resturants - we used the buffet resturant 2 nights, food was average. cost €18 per person.We left a tip and when we arried the next mornin for breakfast they had a table reserved! The waiters are very pleasant, we tended to go to the same waiter each morning. Best place to go for food was along the beach. Alot more value for money, We tried the Venedome Resturant & Neu Blei, Maxwells is really nice to, The Lamb Tagine is a must! The most we paid for a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine and water was €45 for 2. There is not much to do in adagir so we booked a trip to Marrakesh, this is such a fantastic place to see. You will never forget what you see there! We went for the day trip and it cost €35 each, dont book with the reps in the hotel. If you like to sit by the pool you have to put your towels out early as there is not many beds for such a big hotel,we could never get a bed so spent most of our time sitting on the beach. I would recommend adagir if you are looking for a quite & relaxing holiday. We noticed that most of the lables for breakfast & diner were in morracan or french! Learn some french before you go as they just assume you can speak it.

Positive points - Great beach access (thats it really!) On check in we were assured we had an excellent pool view.....Lets put it this way, we could hear people at the pool but could not see them! I'll use bullett points to describe the rest of my experience. - Second time to visit Morocco, on our previous trip a pint of the local brew "Flag" cost 2 euro, it now costs 4.50. A brandy on its own costs 5 euro without a mixer - Water in the hotel costs 1.40 euro, in a shop it costs 60 - 80 cents - We had a meal in one of the hotel restaurants and we had a bottle of Rose which cost 130 dirham or 13 euro. In the Uni Prix (fixed price shop) the same bottle of wine costs 38 dirham or 3.80 euro. If you are bringing in food or drnk to the hotel its advisable to put it into a rucksack - The "Caberet" advertised on the website consists of a three piece "Fawlty Towers" style band - The buffet is a disgrace, especially the outdoor lunch buffet. Between flies swarming around uncovered food and cats running free in and out of the kitchens. They are also allowed sit on top of tables during a lunch/dinner service - The bathroom we had is in need of updating and cleaning. We cleaned the bath ourselves on our arrival - Beware the minbar! On our arrival we were already missing two small bottles of wine which was included on our bill when we were checking out along with two large phantom bottles of water - We are glad to be home and if we return to Morocco we will certainly NOT stay in the Agadir Beach Club! - Didnt find the staff overly attentitive unless there was monetary tip involved

i have stayed at the beach club twice now march 06 and may 06 and am returning july 06. it is the best service i ahve had in any hotel i have stayed at , and i have travelled the world. I was made to feel like the most important person staying there and have now got to know the staff well. On my second visit i was greeted like a long lost relative and was given the best care again. The boys at the pool are fantastic and will do what ever they can for you. I would advise you to tip well here, the wages in morocco are very low and a gppd tip at the begining of the holiday will ensure you get the best from everyone... 10 euro is more than a days wages there. I founf the people friendly and helpful and the restaurants have very wide range of food... The adadir beach club has varied style rooms so tip the receptionest if you are not happy with your room and see what happens... and a big smile goes a long way!!!!

We stayed with our grand-daughter (10) in a family room which consists of a very large living room with 2 sofa beds plus double bedroom with queen size bed. The accommodation was very clean whoever it is showing signs of wear and tear. We had booked half/board basis for which you receive vouchers and ate in the different a la carte restaurants at a small supplement every night. Our favourite was the Roma where I have eaten the best fillet steak I have had for years. Breakfast is a bit of a restricted choice and very french inspired with croissants and cakes. However the best thing about this hotel is the very friendly and attentive service and of course the location.

Returned last week from the Agadir each Club and had a brilliant week there. The hotel is well furnished and ideally positioned but it is it's wonderful staff who truly set his hotel apart from the rest. The rooms were large and airy and were kept spotlessly clean by the very cheery cleaning staff. The waiters and bar staff treated us like royalty and their attention to detail was very refreshing. With it's range of on-site bars and restaurants there was no need to go beyond the complex to eat, although it is within walking distance of some excellent restaurants and bars. The private beach was calm and hawker-free thanks to the police on quad bikes who patrolled continuously. Overall we had a great time and are already planning a return trip. I would happily recommend this hotel to all my friends and colleagues.

This hotel has pretensions of grandeur which in practice it cannot live up to.It is tired and showing signs of being in decline through lack of investment in basic upkeep.Rooms are becoming faded,bed linen and towels are showing signs of better days the latter in particular of poor quality..The bath in our room was cracked,taps in wash hand basin and bath were loose and water mysteriously appeared through bathroom floor tiles after usage of shower. Light bulbs along corridors were not replaced when worn.Breakfast was repetitive with no variation on offer for the week and tinned fruit was offered in abundance.Cracked and chipped cutlery were the order of the day.Staff were friendly but lacking in efficiency.Not all of the hotel restaurants were open during our stay--they seemed to operate a rota system which guests did not not know about until the evening in question.Those that were open offered food which was mediocre by standards for a hotel of so called four star status.

My husband and I spend a most enjoyable holiday at the Agadir Beach Club last Jan. The staff are friendly and polite and most helpful. Its on the beach which is very pleasant, free sunbeds, you can relax, go for a walk along the beach or go for a swim. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is good, though the fruit is tinned, their breads are beautiful and they have cereal and youguts and more. We found some lovely restaurants, and got a lovely meal every night, where the staff were as always very pleasant. The locals try to get you to buy from their shops, but that is their way of life, the majority of them are polite. We enjoyed a drink in the bar every night and listened to the music and you can dance if you wish. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are going back again this January.

Seven very relaxing days at the ABC at the end of October. The hotel is clean, efficiently run and well maintained but does look as though it could benefit from a thorough renovation. The Italian, Moroccan and fish restaurants are cheap and the wine is very good value, but I cannot comment on the buffet or Toque Royal restaurant, as we did not visit these. The Scala restaurant about 200m up the hill opposite the hotel was excellent. If you like fresh fish, Agadir is the place to go, it is really excellent. However, the smell from the fishing port can be a little overpowering at times. The beach is wide and the sand is wonderfully soft and golden, but beware crowds of 4 year old pickpockets on the promenade. This was the first time in 25 years of travelling that we have been dipped but it is so easy to drop one's guard when surrounded by 5 or 6 tiny children jostling you.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Hotel Beach Club in Agadir after a fantastic 8 days and 7 nights! Its a perfect time to go visit Agadir and it is slightly off season, therefore it wasnt crowded but the weather was still lovely (we all have great suntans!). No need to fight for sunbeds around the pool or on the private section of the beach. The hotel was very clean as was the pool and beach area. The hotel is a little shabby in places, needing some redecoration. The best thing about the whole hotel is the staff - they were all absolutely charming, especially with my four year old daughter. We were very sad to leave and wished we had booked a fortnight. My tip is go off season and benefit from no crowds, peace and quiet and a thoroughly relaxing time.
