Tagadirt Hotel & Apartments

I would just like to say that anyone wishing to stay at the at the Tagadirt hotel should think twice before going especially if you are going with family. What entertainment! What disco! Me and my children cried the first day we got there and i had 2 weeks to go. The hotel is on a busy street .music was heard till 4am rooms had no a/c or fans the sheets were damp stuck to our legs. The following morning i paid and got myself into another hotel, even the local taxi drivers spoke badly about the hotel. Its ok if you want a place to leave your luggage whilst your touring Agadir. I would go back to Agadir it was a lovely place but will book my self into the hotel i stayed at. If anyone needs information regarding Agadir it wil be a great pleasure to provide you with that .

We stayed at the Tagadirt for 2 weeks end of July to 9th August. All in all a great location and Hotel. Despite a few minor problems at the Hotel the Staff certainly could not do enough to ensure a pleasant stay. Some of the poor reviews I had read prior to staying were unfounded and I would recommend the hotel and staff to all. When you consider that Morocco is somewhat "backward" when it comes to tourists (compared to Spain for instance) you should not expect too much. The breakfast was complimentary and excellent and the drinks prices in line with other Hotels. Our reps (Jimmy and Absallam) must also take praise for actually being freindly and courteous to all travellers and not just selling trips as most reps I have encountered. They came everyday (except Sunday) and were visible and available to deal with all issues and are a credit to First Choice. After speaking to other UK travellers to Agadir on the way home it appears that this Hotel was certainly the best by far.

this was our first family holiday abroad and with 3 children all under 5 the tagadirt hotel did not fail to meet our needs. The hotel is a 3 star but the rooms are clean and met the needs of our family. The food was brilliant, and some nights were even themed...eg morrocon night. There re two genorous sized pools- one for the older children and adults and one for the juniors. they were both very clean and well maintained. The staff were very pleasent and multi lingual. the beach is a 3 min walk away. the only disadvantage is that there are no lifts and witha buggy and children you may struggle. ( i took my childs buggy- and was okay ). the other guests were all friendly, mainly french and german. the evening entertainment is what my children lived for it seemed...the children disco is very entertaining! i would definatly recommend the tagadirt hotel to others if you want a good basic hotel room.

Having just returned from two weeks at the tagadirt hotel,we found the hotel clean and comfortable with freindly staff,we were staying at half board and found the food of a good and varried standard.The local beach is long and sandy and about ten minutes walk from the hotel.a bus ride to taghazoute is worthwhile if you dont mind crowded buses,it costs about 30p for an half an hour ride,there are plenty of very cheap restaraunts giving good value.The fishing port is also recommended but keep clear of number 19 (chez ali) where unsuspecting tourists are ripped off. A trip to marrakesh is a must, but make it a two day trip or else it is too tiring.also recommended is the "small sahara" trip which includes a meal in a berber house.On the whole i would recommend the tagadirt hotel to anyone who wants to explore morocco

When i arrived at the hotel i was pleasently surprises we had a massive balcony but u had to walk up about 100 stairs to get to our room!! the hotel its selh was really nice the maids were great. There are not many english people staying at the resort, mostly french when we were there. Outside the hotel was not so good every where u walk people are trying to drag you in to there shop and there arer lots of people begging for money. As a 19 year old girl you get stared at by the local men a lot which did make me feel uncomfortable. Over all the hotel was good value for money.

After reading some of the previous reviews we arrived for our 2 week stay somewhat worried as to what to expect... how surprised we were! Firstly what you have to appreciate is you get what you pay for, if you want the Ritz you pay the Ritz prices. If you want simple, clean cheap and friendly try the Tagadirt. The staff were great from the poolman who was the most helpful and friendliest chap ever, to the restaurant staff, receptionists, bar staff, maids who were all friendly and accomodating to the entertainment staff who felt like family at the end of our stay. The rooms were simple and clean with towels changed daily. The pool is clean and well maintained, a few cracks around the poolside but nothing dangerous for kids. The restaurant served good food and breakfast was ample. Entertainment was basic but fun. Agadir itself is so much fun if you're prepared to spend time haggling with the locals who are really friendly. The beach is fantastic. Overall a great stay and the perfect venue for a family holiday on a small budget

On arrival we were pleasently surprised how lovely the hotel was. We basically paid peanuts for a 2weeks holiday and expected just somewhere to use as a base only to put our head down at night. Instead we found the hotel to be extremely clean, with really helpfull and friendly staff. Our room was clean and basic with a great powerful hot shower (which surprised us!) and a fully functioning toilet that you can put paper down. The maid came daily and scrubbed her little heart out, replaced the towels and made our beds, which was fab! By the pool was great, despite what the last reviewer has said. Yes it was slippery, but so what??? Just be careful!! Its wet for godsake its by a pool! As for the maintenance whilst the pool was open, some bloke was just replacing a few tiles on the side. I think you'll find if you walked around him you wont be killed by it!! The pool man is a star and always got us our beds out everyday. So helpful and friendly, couldnt fault him. You can have delicious food like chicken sandwiches, omlettes etc around the pool and drinks too. These are brought out to you and all the empty plates/glasses collected. The whole area is kept very clean. If you want a 5* pool love, you have to pay for it!! We found it to be great considering. The entertainment staff were very friendly too, I wouldnt want to relay on the entertainment every night as its not great, especially when they all start dancing to Hands up, baby hands up! Its so bad it funny! They try tho bless um! The reception staff are helpful and friendly as are the bar staff. The breakfast was great, something for everyone. Omlettes, pancakes, croissants, fresh bread, toast, jam, butter, fried eggs, even cereal. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate was great too. They cater for the french and german really as most guests here are from there. I was surprised at the lack of fruit in Morocco? Some is available but not much. If you decide to have you evening meal in the hotel, I would highly recommend, as it is fantastic! Really gorgeous. As is the Jazz Cafe, Camels and Eau Jardin. They were great too. Most places were really, and really cheap. The beach is large and very clean and I would recommend the camel riding if you want to do any trips. We got our outside the english pub. The english pub, and taco loco do not serve alcohol as dont a few others, so check first before you sit down if you fancy a bevvy or too with your meal. Go and see the witch doctor (Thats just what our kids called him!) in the souk just down the steps outside the front of the hotel. He is great, you can get all herb and spices and a lovely cup of tea from his friend. They are really friendly and lovely people. As are all the people we met in Morroco. We loved it and really enjoyed the haggling, which is all in good spirit. They never get aggressive with you if you want to walk away. The only thing I agree with from the other review before us, as the herbalist guy in reception only said hello! He didnt harrass at all, is that the rep eddie was crap. We had to find out all the information we wanted to know. Hes been moved to another hotel now, so you should be ok. Basically, if you want a great CHEAP HOLIDAY in the sun, with good food, great people and clean surroundings, this will be great for you. You get what you pay for and more with this place, if your a moaning grumpy bugger and want luxury then this is not for you and you should pay more for your holiday!

We arrived on the 21st of June 2006(for a 14 night stay), later that night,while trying to get some sleep owing to the fact we had to be up the morning before at 3 am to make our flight from Birmingham, we were awoken by extremely loud music playing in the restaurant next to the hotel.This continued until approximately 4 am, in which time my partner had gone to reception to see if anybody could help and explain the problem, only to find nobody there!! The next morning we went to reception and were moved without any fuss. However, our new room was situated behond the pool area, and in fact we had to walk around the pool to get to and from it. This sounds good, but the fact was that when during the day people were sunbathing by the pool on sunloungers, it was virtually impossible to get by, and also very dangerous for the less agile hotel guests. To add to this, the pool area was continually wet and very slippery, and there was also several uneven surfaces (manhole covers ect) which were uneven and the cause of many an accident waiting to happen. When trying to leave or enter the hotel, you are met by a very pushy herbalist situated on the second floor of the main building, who if you didn't stop and buy would continually pester you when what most people want from a hotel is a relaxed and quiet environment. Maintainence works were being carried out around the pool while the pool was open, and this made negociating your way around the already wet and extremely busy pool side very dangerous indeed, as there is very little room to get by in some places anyway. The rooms are nort double-glazed so even at the far side or even the back of the hotel, you can still hear the music blasting from the restaurant mentioned earlier. On entertainment nights, it is impossible to use the payphone for the noise, and although, there are another two by the pool which are in quiet locations, neither one actually works. The First Choice rep.(Eddie) for the hotel is absolutlely useless, infact you'd have better luck attempintg a conversation with one of the many brick walls in the complex...!!! We by walking arund the resort found everything out ourselves. The locals are all very friendly and will point you in the right direction if in doubt....but be on your guard if they want to take you somewhere...always pretend you know exactly where you are going...a polite 'No Thank you,' will do the trick. As for First Choice, we would never travel with them again....they couldn't organise a [----] (excuse my French) in a brewery..they are incompetant and all their staff seem to be rude and need to be taught some customer care skills! However, on a plus point, the best memebers of staff in the hotel are the maids. Our maid was absolutely wonderful and always took time out each day to ask how we were and make sure we were okay.

This is not the best hotel I've stayed in, but it is certainly the cheapest - by far! We arrived on a Friday evening and were taken straight to our room. The room was clean, well sized and was more than you could want for what we had payed. We had a room around the pool area, which was slighlty noisey, but nothing that ear plugs didn't drown out! The pool was beauitful, and the kind pool man would bring out extra sun beds when needed. The breakfast was diverse - salad, croissants, cereal etc, but there was something for everyone and lots of it! The location was perfect - with in walking distance to restaurants, shops, promenade, beach everything. All in all, a nice hotel with helpful staff.

People: Could they be any more helpful and friendly? No! Staff, including pool staff, were very attentive, friendly, helpful and observant without being too intrusive. It seemed as if their primary goal was to make sure we had a lovely time. Food: We were half board. The breakfast was fairly basic, more of a continental style, but nothing was very fresh and most of the pastries tasted the same, but in different shapes. Pancakes and the fresh bread were excellent though. Dinner was a buffet style. There was a reasonable range of choice. Some days there were specials such as a barbeque and on Fridays they have a special Moroccan evening that was very nice. The rest of the time the food was influenced by German cuisine. Wine was drinkable and very cheap, but Champagne was bad and expensive. Rooms: The layout of the rooms was good and also functional. Basic, but certainly in-keeping with the type of hotel it is (it is not the Ritz). Also very clean. Pool: Quiet and very clean. Great location, very private. More than enough comfortable furniture. Location: 10 minutes walk from the beach (don't get too excited about the beach). You can see the sea from the pool. Also close to shops, bars and restaurants. Cash point in hotel Overall we had a fantastic time! Much, much more than we were expecting.
