Le Tivoli looked like it was once a great hotel - shame they did not keep up the maintenance or the standards of that bygone era. Advertised as a FOUR star Le Tivoli would now struggle to make TWO!! Just about everything needed attention – even the chandeliers in the... more

Absolutely loved the hotel, I have to say we thought all the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The ladies in the shop were a bit rude, eyeballing you up and down but I think that was just a culture thing. All the staff spoke English well, bar staff were attentive,... more

We stayed at this hotel at the start of June, the hotel was fine, more like a 3* rather than a four star, the hotel was clean and tidy. The hotel bar staff were very helpful, but the reception staff were very rude and very ill mannered. The breakfasts were awful, with my... more

Having recently stayed at a brand new 4/5* hotel in Egypt I was reminded of my stay at Le Tivoli. The staff were polite and numerous. They were helpful and responsive and appreciated my attempts at Arabic. The staff made a fuss of the children which was nice. The Moroccans... more

Le Tivoli was rated at a 4* but would say it’s more like a 3* although this does generally seem to be the case in north African hotels. The hotel was nice enough, the bedroom was clean, but the bathroom was a little unpleasant with rusty marks around the taps in the bath... more

Got a good deal on the hotel, and enjoyed our holiday. Agadir itself is not traditionally Moroccan and is set up as a tourist resort (which after going to Marrakech can be a welcome break). Hotel was nice and very clean. There was a problem with the pool whilst we were... more

We stayed at the Le Tivoli for 7 nights on a half board basis in February 2007. We have read other reviews and have to agree with some that this is a 3 star hotel rather than a 4 star, having said that it is a very good hotel. The rooms are very spacious and have a... more

low key but not bad
the hotel was clean & staff professional & pleasant. pool very cold but no problem as weather scorching! we reported leak (which actually wasn't a leak) & our safe broke. staff were quick to respond & repair with no fuss. food was a bit canteen like, but satisfactory. never waited for a table & staff very efficient. there was little entertainment in the evenings, which was crucial as nothing going on in agadir! there was a man & yamaha organ which got a bit repeatitive & a traditional moroccan night which was not free & very disappointing. my main gripe is with airtours as an excursion was sub standard. went camel riding which was ok, but transport there & back was unsafe. after using taxis we knew safety not big on agenda, but expected more from an organised trip. there was no regard for our safety or comfort. we thought agadir was a huge let down. dirty, smelly & very little to do. beach very windy & sea too rough to swim. lots of hassle from traders & no chance of bargains!
Great if you stay away from block 4!
Stayed here on a package deal with Mytravel in November with my girlfriend. The first room we were in was in Block 4 (there are 4 accomodation blocks) on the ground floor which smelt of damp, had no view, was in poor condition, and had tempremental hot water., although for the price we paid we weren't too bothered. However, after a couple of days the lack of warm water started to get annoying, so we asked to move block. What a difference! Block 2 had obviously been refurbished and was in top condition, vastly improving our opinion of the hotel. The pool area was clean with lots of beds (although the water was freezing!) and the restaurant, although chaotic at times, was clean with a good choice and variety of foods. All in all, a good budget choice as long as you stay clear of block 2! A top tip is to only change up small amounts of pound sterling at a time (there is no commission charge) in the hotel, as if you have any left over the conversion rate is appaling!
Never again!
We didn't expect luxury but this is definately not a 4 star hotel! The staff were at best disinterested and at worst, rude. The exceptions were the porter who seemed the only one to have a handle on what was going on in Agadir and the lady in the beauty parlour who had the only hairdryer in the whole hotel! For a 4 star, we were very dissapointed. The room was tired and dated and the sea view was over the top of a lot of other buildings - somewhere in the distance! Minimal facilitities and one set of towels came with blood stains on them. The restaurant was very basic with a poor range. Felt a bit like a school canteen. We found a few nice restaurants outside the hotel e.g. La Scala but overall, not much going on. If you still fancy Agadir, you may want to find a real beachfront hotel as these have private beaches. Otherwise you end up having to hire loungers etc in one of the few non-hotel areas, to escape the hassle!

Pros: the weather - virtually guaranteed sun -, the hotel gardens, the room size, the quietness (which is probably true for any hotel in the tourist district of Agadir) Cons: dated bathroom and room fittings despite claims of having been recently refurbished, very disappoint eve-meals (h/b), boring town (visit the area if you can or settle for very lazy holidays), room with a view at ground level?
Not impressed.
I'm sure this hotel was a 4* once, but it has really lost its edge. The wardrobe in our room was unusable as it stank of mould, the bedroom floor and terrace were rarely cleaned and the restaurant was a bit like a school canteen. The one plus point was the great swimming pool (although the poolside "entertainment" left a little to be desired!) which was great to cool down in. However, both my friend and I were ill during our stay and we question whether the swimming pool might be the culprit as it didn't contain much chlorine. All in all, we got a great internet deal through lastminute.com and had no reason to complain, but had we paid full price.......well that would have been a different story!
Good pleasant hotel
Nice hotel - fairly typical of a tourist hotel in a tourist resort. Big clean rooms - all have balconies with a sea view. Hotel was very clean and breakfast which was a buffet was plentiful. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Its about a 15 minute walk into the centre of agadir, although if you didn't want to you wouldn't have to venture in, as there are shops and restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. Don't go expecting to be able to use the gym though - the running machine didn't work and all the other machines didn't have batteries. Also there is an aerobics studio but no classes! There are plenty of sun beds - never had a problem getting one, no matter how late we got up and there is also table tennis, tennis and volley ball courts. All in all a reasonable hotel - if you can get a good deal then i would recommend staying here.
lovely Le Tivoli
We stayed for 1 week at Le Tivoli and had a lovely time my husbad and my 1 year old son. The rooms were a bit tired but clean and comfortable and the rooms were cleaned every day towels etc. I would note if you are going to use a cot from the hotel be warned they are not what you would expect!! I likened it to the type you see in Romanian orphanges - metal and a bit rusty suffice to say my son slept with us! I would say to those with young babies - take lots of nappies if you run out they can be quite expensive and take a travel kettle also no fridges in the rooms so can be a bit tricky with formula etc we made as we needed. The hotel itself is set in beautiful gardens and all the staff were lovely and helpful. If you have young children they will get lots of attention!. The food : my husband and I are not fussy and enjoy eating foriegn food and we enjoy trying new things so I can't say an bad thing really fresh well cooked! The breakfast was lovely get there early though! Fresh pastries coffee ...my son eat everything and I was 100% happy to offer him a taste of everything , food offered was lovely . Drinks great value for money try the wine lovely!!! We had a brilliant holiday and would recommend.
Excelent value for money. Good for family holiday, not so great pool.
I stayed here with my wife and 8 years old son for 10 nights and paid 565 Eur for a *huge* suite and half board. I must say that I wouldn't be much surprised or unhappy and wouldn't consider myself cheated if either I would have paid more or if the hotel wasn't so good. Although I don't remember anything out of the "good, but common 4 stars", it's a nice place to stay, nothing too fancy, with friendly staff. Its location is fairly good, in a place not too busy, but with a choice of cafes and restaurants. Like many others hotels in any international resort, it's a little away from the center of the town, but in that respect is better than others, namely the newer ones. The beach is about 500 meters, which can be a major con, specially for western women - not that I noticed that they can be harrassed, but as Moroccan women go fully dressed to the beach, my wife found herself like a weird being in the beach. Our suite had view to a order of the garden and to the sea, and was by far the bigger one where we ever stayed. The food is a little bit boring after a few days, again not bad nor good. Every night there was a little free show by the pool, featuring mainly local artists, mostly folcloric.
clean and spotless
Just returned from "le Tivoli" and overall very pleased. The hotel is in an excellent location in one of the better parts of agadir. It is close to all amenities and only ten minutes walk from the beach. The hotel itself is very clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. The only negatives i have are the food- while there is much choice- i didn't rate the quality very high. My only other gripe is the entertainment can be quite loud even after midnight, which can be a problem if you want an early night, but overall i was very impressed and i would recommend it to anyone going to Agadir!
Rubbish????? We think not!!!!
My partner and I stayed for two weeks at the Tivoli, on arrival we were promptly checked in and our bags taken to our room. The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely view. We didi not have any problems with the food or service and all staff were happy to help on request. On the first couple of nights there was some noise from the water boiler in our bedroom but they sorted it promptly, our rooms were serviced on a daily baisis with clean towels provided. Every couple of days they had poolside entertainment and many of the visitors got involved, this made the stay more welcoming as it gave you the oportunity to meet other tourists. Food and drinks were served poolside throughout the day unitill 6:30 pm, the restuarant opened from 6:30 adn the selection of food was impressive, I am not fussy when it comes to eating but my partner is as she is a vegetarian but she found somthing to eat each night. We really enjoyed our stay, we would definately return and recommend it.
