Just back from our 4th visit to Agios Gordios and the Angelica Hotel. We've, once again, had a fabulous time with Spiros and Angelica. We took our 6 year old grandaughter for her first visit, she's been spoiled by everyone and she's already told her Mum and Dad they should come next time!!
Everyone in Agios Gordios is so friendly and there are some great tavernas although Angelica cooks fantastic greek dishes so you don't have to venture too far. They have a great barbeque with greek dancing and games, just be prepared to take part!! It doesn't matter if you make a fool of yourself (as I often do), you are on holiday and no one knows you!!
The sunsets are fantastic. We love it so much we are planning the next visit!! See you soon!!

Previous reviewer seems totally sold on this place. Stayed there last summer, it's ok – nothing special Plenty of other good places in this resort where you don’t have to negotiate steep flights of stairs and have to trek up and down the hill to get to and from the beach!

Hi Folks,
It's me again! Sorry to keep repeating myself, but yet again Spiros, Angelica, Mama, Sue and the family have done us all proud.
This is paradise in spades. With Easyjet opening up new routes this year Corfu and the Angelica Hotel are more accessible than ever before, so if you haven't booked yet - what's stopping you?
Flying from Bristol in August 2009 is going to be such a treat for Mal and I. August 2008 saw us again relaxing at the Angelica and having a fantastic time as usual, looked after and absolutely spoilt by Spiros and Angelica. We met some wonderful people "The United Nations" at the Angelica, we are hoping to see some of them again this year.
The spacious apartments are as comfortable as ever, with attention to detail and cleaning taking place almost every day. Linen is changed on a regular basis and the option to stay in or eat out is entirely your choice. Angelica's home made meals are an absolute delight and her specials sell out quite quickly. The Greek night BBQ must be booked early to avoid disappointment. A wedding party joined us last year, it was packed to the rafters, but what an atmosphere!
The pool is a relaxing tranquil haven, never overcrowded and plenty of comfortable sun beds to go round. Sue manages the bar during the day and is always on hand with a cool refreshing drink. If she thinks you are getting too hot, she'll drop a few ice-cubes in the pool too!!
I can't praise Spiros and Angelica highly enough. This hardworking professional couple and their team really make you feel welcome, every guest's comfort is very important to them. It's home from home for us. You will arrive as guests, but certainly leave as friends. The Angelica is very addictive. Take my advice and book early to avoid disappointment.

After doing a lot of research and deciding to go 'Independent' for the first time we chose the Angelika Hotel in Agios Gordios for our summer holiday, all the reviews we got from websites and forums were excellent and we were not dissapointed. From the moment we started to descend down the hill in the taxi to Agios Gordios we knew this was a good choice, the views across the bay were awe inspiring.
When we pulled up outside the hotel, there was Spiros the owner and his daughter to help us with our cases and to show us to our very spacious and impressive 2 bedroom apartment that was immaculately clean and a kitchen area complete with utensils,hob,mini-oven and a good sized preparation area.
The bar/restaurant area was peaceful and quiet and looked over a good sized swimming pool that was never crowded and sunbeds could always be acquired.
The owner Spiros and his wife Angelika are the perfect hosts and cannot do enough to help you. Angelika cooks the most wonderful authentic greek food that is not bettered anywhere in the resort and Spiros works consistently ensuring the smooth running of the hotel.
Sue the barmaid is always on the go serving drinks and snax and entertaining the kids around the pool.
Spiros runs a Greek/BBQ night on a Thursday which is not to be missed, the food is fantastic and great value for money and the entertainment is excellent but don't expect to just sit and watch, everyone joins in.
We met some great people here and we will definately be back sometime, we cannot reccomend this place highly enough.
Keep up the good work Spiros, Angelika and family.

This was our first "direct booking" and made purely on the basis of all these other reviews. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! In fact from the moment we arrived (very late on Monday evening), Spiros and Angelica were there to greet us, making us so very welcome after a long journey. You will be looked after so much, Sue cares for everyone so effortlessly, and Spiros ensures that everyone is not overlooked. Always working in the background, Angelica cooks the most delicious Greek food (don't worry that you have to try everywhere else)!-it made us feel we were sharing our meals with them as it has the home cooking taste ( the Kleftico is worth the wait). The Greek night is worth it too.
The rooms are cleaned daily and are light and airy and the standard is very high. The pool is large enough if you want a refreshing dip and is a fine sun trap. If you want a base to explore from then this is it. Car hire is virtually next door, the bus stop too with frequent buses to Corfu town. There are a few shops in the village selling usual trinkets. Quite a number of Supermarkets (small ones - usual Corfiot type-always helpful) The beach is spacious and plenty of beach tavernas.
Easyjet got us there easily (pardon the pun)- (this is the week that XCEL went down) and the taxi cost 30euros one way(don't pay any more-stand your ground)

Thank you Spiros and Angelica (you would never believe how long they have been married- Angelica will tell me off for saying this!)
Thank you for such a really needed break. So if you are reading this and want something that the whole family can enjoy-BOOK NOW ( I'm not working on a commision either:-) )

Just returned today from a two week break at the Hotel Angelica. There were 8 of us in the party using two spacious rooms, one on top of the other. I haven't got time to write much as I am off again for a week in the Scilly Isles tomorrow, but I wanted to add my praise and thanks for a relaxing two weeks in Agios Gordios.
If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing get away in a beautiful setting then this is the place. Spiros and his wife, Angelika make you feel welcome, even before you arrive if, like me, you were booking via email. Nothing is a problem for them. They are helpful beyond that of host and hostess. When my sons fell ill with high temperatures they were helping me cope late at night and even arranged for me to see the local doctor.
I chose this place for its size and the fact it was family run. (Eleanor, the daughter, even helped out on her holiday visit.) If you are looking for the usual travel package with its day trips and crowds, with everything on a big scale, then this is not the place for you. If, however, you are after a small, friendly place, where you feel like an individual and not a number, then this is it.
The pool is small like the hotel, but it does not need to be any bigger - in fact you often have it to yourself, as other guests are at the beach, eating at one of the many restaurants or taverners or out in their hire cars. You can always get a lounger as there are plenty to go around. The rooms were spotless - the cleaner takes pride in her work. You could walk barefoot in the corridors and would not find a grain of dirt.
I should also mention Sue the friendly barmaid and ice cube supplier - ask her! We genuinely felt so welcomed that we were sad to say goodbye this morning.
Thank you all so much for looking after us and giving us such a relaxing holiday.

Spiros, Angelica, Sue & Nan made us all very welcome from the moment we arrived to the minute we left, which was a sad day!. We shall return very soon hopefully same time next year. The Greek nights were great fun as were the bar-b-que. The accommodation was first class. Sue was great fun and the kids loved the games!. We loved every second of our holiday in Agios Gordios and would recommend the Hotel Angelica to anyone looking for excellent accommodation, very good food and a welcome that is as warm as if you were family.

Hello,
we spent our honeymoon at Hotel Angelica / Angelica Appartments in September 2007. From the first moment we feel very well here. Spiros, Angelica, Maria and mama were very friendly, cooperatively and welcoming. Thank you very much.
The rooms were very spotlessly clean and very large with a beautiful ambience.
One insider tip for all who wants to stay on agios gordios. Please enjoy the art of cooking in Angelica. I have never eaten so fantastic greek cusine as our holidays by Spiros and Angelica.
I think we will come back as soon as possible. In may 2008 we expect our first baby and so we can’t spend our holiday 2008 on korfu. But if our child will be large enough, we will come back to Spiros and Angelica.
Beautiful greetings from Germany

We stayed at the Hotel Angelica/Angelika Apartments in September 2007, and from the first minute I knew that we would have a great holiday! Spiros, Angelica & Maria (and Mama looking on) can’t do enough for you, what ever your request they will oblige!
The rooms were spotlessly clean, very spacious and had great views all round. The food was fantastic (you must try the lamb chops!) and the Wednesday "BBQ" with Greek dancing is not to be missed; a great night out.
Well worth a visit.

We have just returned from staying at the Angelica & couldn't recommend it highly
enough.
We were in the new block facing the hills, our room was large & spotlessly clean.
Spiros, Angelica, Mama & Maria are so welcoming & friendly. It's a real pleasure to stay there. The food is really good & the weekly barbeque is good fun.
We shall definitely be going back & wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Also the resort of Aghios Gordios is small, quiet with some really nice places to eat plus a lovely beach. From all the places on the island we liked A.G the best.

Many rooms have NOT a nice view! Most of them face a noisy road or a blind brick wall. Though clean the rooms were very simply equiped: no table or chair. The monotonous breakfast is not recommended for a longer period of time. Airco is not included but charged for additionally (€ 5,- per day). Annoying is the noise and the repeated "sirtaki" music whole day long until midnight(!) from the in house bar/restaurant. The owner can show a bad temper.
