Me and my partner went here on our 1st holiday together. When we 1st arrived we thought 'oh no'as from the outside it looks a little dated, but we got around the back to the pool area and it was so lovely. The weather was 28/30 all week. It was in the perfect location,... more

Great hotel!
Hotel was lovely & clean, very near Stalis, staff very friendly. Went to BBQ night on Sunday and had a great time - 15 euros for all you can eat & free wine and Raki till late. Get a superior room away from the road if you can as the traffic noise is fairly loud. Greek restaurant across the road has lovely food - would highly recommend their greek night.
for location, friendliness, cleanliness it is spot on!!!
went with husband for two weeks, although on main road it couldnt be better, theres a shop within 10 yards, the beach is within 100 yards, the staff are great Thomas and Eddie are great entertainers the crazy greek bingo is "CRAZY" the apartments are spotless and well equipped, the pool area is lovely a real sun spot. All in all a superb holiday in a very nice and relaxing place.
Fantastic
we stayed at the Rainbow Apartments in stalis the rooms were basic and clean the cleaners came in once every couple of days to clean the room . the staff - anna , thomas, eddy, were brilliant they really made the holliday they where really kind and made you feel so welcome when you arrived. also thomas and eddy kept the bar open till 3 in the morning whhen we had to wait for the coach to take us all home they then seen all of us safely on the coach when we . we will be back next year with out a doubt !!!.
GREAT APARTMENTS AND STALIS IS LOVELY.....
Stayed at the Rainbow apartments for 1 week. I went with 3 other ladies aged betweem 30 - 45. Stalis had all that we wanted, not too in your face and people not trying to get you into the bars etc. The resort itself is more for families and couples but we all had a ball with the locals and one night we ventured into Hersonnisos which was 10euros each way in a taxi. Its ok there but everyone hassles you and the drinks are a few euros more. We were paying roughly 3euros for a long drink like vodka/gin tonic in Stalis and in Hersonnisos you will pay anything from 5euros to 7 and its not always Gordons Gin or Smirnoff Vodka. We never ventured into Malia due to all the bad revues from the locals telling us that its full of 18-30's fighting and falling drunk in the streets....not our cup of tea...We found the pool area during the day very quite and far too hot so we all went to beach and paid 2euros for beds and a brolly...Its much cooler at the beach and the view is wonderful. We dont really have anything bad to say about the resort or the Rainbow apartments. The food and drinks are all very reasonable. There is a cocktail bar called Nemo and they do the best ever Mojitos and if you ask them to make them STRONG they do. Also please try The Village Pub on the main road on the right...... Demetris owns the bar and he plays 50's 60's and 70's music and all the locals call in and take in there mezze food and Demetris places it all on the bar for everyoneto help themselves....We had Strawberry's, Melon, Cherries, Local Cheeses, Bread and various other wonderful things that the locals either grew at home or cooked just to be friendly....His drinks are very cheap and he uses all the main branded spirits. Finally i must tell you of the best find ever....Over the main road from the Rainbow Apartment is a Greek Restaurant called Hellas Rooftop.... Nicos is the owner and he has all his family working there too. People come from all over just to eat there. Get in or book early as people que on the streets for a table. He also holds 2 Greek dancing and plate smashing evenings which i really recommed for that local Greek feel.....the food is to die for and our bill at the end of the evening was only 55 euros for 4 people....We were in there 3 hours and had 4 starters, 4 main meals and lots and lots of vino...please go, you wont be let down. I have been to other Greek Islands but my opinion is that Crete is the best for the locals being the friendliest. You even walk down the streets and the owners of the shops and restaurants have laughs and jokes with you and they always remember your names despite you not being a customer of theirs. One evening Nicos the owner of the above restaurant called us over in a bar he was drinking in with the other locals after he'd closed his restaurant at the end of the night and bought us 2 rounds of drinks and he insisted not to let us buy him one back... In all we had a great time and an all rounder great holiday....if you have any questions please email me at louise.gaines@hotmail.co.uk Hopefully, Going back next year.......
Such a lovely place !!!
just back from these lovely apartments, stayed here from may 22- june 6th....went with my wife chris, my wee boy declan , his granny liz and his auntie liz......what a choice, wasnt dissapointed with this place....lovely rooms...a lot better than most places...location brilliant, only you have to get across that busy road to get down to the town or beach..only a 2 min walk away...there is an underpass, go out gates turn left and you,ll find it ! at the rainbow....a terrific pool bar area....run by some nice people,,, tomas, anna, eddy..with diane doing the cooking ...just ask them if they remember DECLAN...i,m sure they will never forget him..ha ha ....so may good restaraunts and bars..a busy resort, but so laid back... recommend this place to everyone...you wont be disapointed....very friendly overall....WE SHALL RETURN !!! BENNY CHRIS AND WEE DECLAN ..........
Quality Studio
1st time in Stalis and 1st time in the Rainbow Apartments. Opted to pay a bit more for the Superior Studio which was really nicely decorated and every thing was bright and clean with a view over the pool. The only thing missing was a toaster. Nice pool area with great sunbeds, again all the furniture looked new, small pay area for kids which was again well looked after. The cost of this studio was extremely reasonable and it far exceeded my expectations. You had to cross a busy road to get down to the beach but at least you did not have to walk far.
2nd visit to rainbow
excellent holiday location great apartments and a brilliant pool bar restaurants and bars in stallis second to none
7th Visit; Can't be bad
T his was the 15th visit to Crete and the 7th to the Rainbow Apartments by my wife and myself. Kostas & his daughter Maria(the owners) were very welcoming and friendly as usual and the two young men (Kostas & Georgious) who are now running the redesigned and rebuilt pool bar and pool area are the best we have come across. Extremely pleasant & helpful. There are two new blocks of apartments just completed this year(blocks 3 & 4) and my wife and I were the first occupants of one of them. The standard of these apartments is excellent, very tastefully furnished, very good quality fittings in the bathroom which has a small wet room rather than a shower cubicle, the usual 2 rings in the kitchen together with an electric kettle and microwave. There is also full air conditioning (payable). I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone requiring excellent accomodation convenient to Stalis, with a pool bar open late but not rowdy and with good restaurants/tavernas close by. Try the Ellas Restaurant across the main highway from the apartments or a traditional Ouzeria a few yards from the apartments beside the Katrina hotel(be prepared to eat authentic Greek food traditionally cooked). Have a meze ( a selection of small starters).
Very friendly and efficient
What a lovely place to stay. I went on holiday with my mum, aunty and cousin, ages ranged from 25 - 56. The rooms were basic with everything we needed and were very clean. Towels were changed every other day, but if you wanted clean ones sooner they were happy to provide fresh anytime. Our shower head broke and our first thought was' oh no we are going to have to change rooms, what a nightmare!' We told Maria the owner and she was in fixing it straight away and it was all back to normal within ten minutes, very impressed, no room change. Costas who runs the bar was very helpful and pleasent and gave us some free shots which were lovely. I have to mention the food from there recentely refurbished snack area was out of this world, fresh and well prepared, I miss the food. I did not have a bad meal whilst on holiday in Stalis the food was wonderful. I would recommend the Irish house in Stalis town, Ian who runs the bar is a great laugh and he is very generous giving out free shots. Overall a fantastic holiday and would recommend Stalis and the Rainbow Apartments to all ages.
