" Rainbow apartments wonderful holiday "
Submitted By: melcatThe new 1 bed apartments give you loads of space and everything you need to be comfortable. Lovely position for stalis which is a really relaxed resort. For something to eat Maria's Golden Beach is always good, and is just five minutes away on the corner as you get to the beach. We also loved El Greco's for piza and sword fish it is wonderful, love the place.
For a small trip, sisi is lovely, and elounda are not far and the boat trip from elounda is worth it.
If you go here its a lovely place for a restful holiday. And if you want to party Malia is not far away. Its also worth a visit up to Mohos in the mountains for a taste of the real crete, a lovely villiage with a wonderful square to watch people go by.

Submitted By: Mrs D MillerI was based in the older apartments which were very clean and adequate and my son stayed in the newer more contemporary apartments WHICH WERE EXCELLENT.Airconditioning was payable locally.
George, Kostas and tall george worked behind the bar and were excellent company. They made everyone feel welcome and stayed up late while my husband continued to party! Not sure if it was Kostas or my husband who wanted to stay up late!!
The location of the apartments was excellent, even though you had to cross a busy road, it was close to all the amenities.
Food wise Marias restaurant and Ristorante Amici was excellent!
I went to Jasmine Chinese but found it very average.
There was only one very poor restaurant which was on the same side as the beach. The man outside had a blonde curly pony tail and the restaurant had a very long name, but as ever finished with the name maria!tHE ONLY DOWNFALL WITH THE APARTMENTS IS THAT THERE IS NO ROOM THAT CAN BE USED TO SHOWER IN IF YOU HAVE A NIGHT FLIGHT, AND IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR ROOM ON , IT IS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE.

Submitted By: Mrs P.A CrothersThe resort it self has great restuarants. Jasmine House (Chinese) is absolutely delicious and highly recommended as is Marias if you want a traditonal greek nite out. Every tourist should also pay Elizabeth's in old Malia village a visit, sit out on the balcony enjoy your food and watch the world go by. We will definately be going back here again as we had a great time and met some nice people. Watch out Kostas, we will be back again for more late nights and lots more shots. Tell young George we said Hello!!!!

Submitted By: Mr K.j WatkinsOut for drinks go to the Beachcomber, good music and good size drinks,[see costa and george - entertaining]. The Akti bar is pretty good to if you just want to chill and look at the sea or watch the world go by.
After being to quite a few greek islands and eating plenty of kleftiko,i this has to be one of the best. The greeks are amazingly friendly people, but the people of Crete are another class again very trusting and friendly we will going back without a doubt.

Submitted By: Miss J ConnorWe only stayed in the hotel one night and that was for a bbq night, which is held every sunday. They have greek dancers, plate smashing and a band. Although it was a tad cheesy we had a right giggle. The food was gorgeous and you could go back for 2nds, 3rds, or 4ths hehe. Only 15 euros for the night- definately should be done :) You also have the opportunity to buy photos taken through out the night- which are professionally taken.
Pool area was lovely, always clean and very safe. There is also a terrace just for sun bathing- which is out of the way of children and the pool. A must try is the numerous slushes you can purchase from the bar- always good to ask kostas to put a bit of vodka in them too hehe :)
Weather was amazing- had a mini heat wave while we were there. Out of 7 days we had 1 cloudy day- and even then it was still hot!
Resort itself is just goregous!!!! Beach was literally over the main road, a 5 min walk if that. Beach its self was amazing- clear waters and cheap sun beds. Around 4 euro for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for the day.
1 word of advice- if you are going to hire a quad, make sure u wear your helemt. Police over there are extremelly strict, and although you may get told the passanger does not have to wear a helmet by the store you rent the quad from- believe me by law they do. When we were there 3 people we know were fined between 400- 800 euros for various offenses- mainly not wearing helmets- you have been warned.
Malia is not far away at all- on a quad you can get there in about 7 minutes- in a taxi it takes about 5 at most. Do not be charged more than 8 euros to get to malia- this is what we paid every night when going partying. Malia itself is amazing. Best bars are malibu- Bannana and apollo.
All in all, the best holiday ever- we didnt want to come home, and are already planning our next trip out there!!!

Submitted By: Miss L WilkinsonThe pool was fabulous, clean, there were always loungers spare and the pool wasn't busy either, I could float round on my lilo without worrying about disturbing anyone else in the pool. There are also inflatables supplied by the hotel.
The pool bar was fantastic, the cocktails and food were super, courtesy of George and Kostas, who made our holiday with their friendly banter and willingness to provide an extremely high quality customer service.
The apartments are about 200m away from the centre of Stalis, which is so convenient.
I couldn't fault the hotel. I had the perfect holiday and we WILL be back!!

Submitted By: tarakenApartments are spacious and very clean, pool area spotless and the staff here tremendous.Maria runs around all day checking that everything is in working order and that all the guests are happy.
George and Kostas run the bar and are great fun, they serve snacks here incl breakfast and it stays open late which can be rather handy.
Our favourite restaurants are 9 muses ,Marias golden beach and the italian up by the church (can't remember the name) but i must say you'd struggle to get a bad meal in the whole of Stalis.
The only slightly off putting thing about these apartments initially is the fact that you have to cross a very busy road to get to the main resort but if you walk a little bit further on to the right there is an underpass which would be a lot more sensible if you have young children.
We loved it at the Rainbow so much we WILL return.

Submitted By: Mr G PriceAs for Stalis, the beach is great, good for swimming, plenty of sunbeds available, bars, shops and restaurants a-plenty. Lots of the goods on sale are tourist tat but there are some good buys if you look. The Western end of the Beach Road is much quieter with a couple of nice bars and some good restaurants. The 9 Muses was our favourite; try the Shrimps Souvlaki. The Ellas taverna is very close to the Rainbow and that is also very good; to be fair, we tried quite a few tavernas and they were all pretty good.
One word of warning: in high season we would expect Stalis to be very busy. There are literally hundreds of quad bikes and scooters for hire and they will all be going up and down the Beach Road. Not our idea of fun at all.
The only drawback to the Rainbow could be its proximity to the main road. We were able to sleep with the double glazing closed in October but in summer you'll either be kept awake by the air con or the quad bikes. Good ear plugs are advisable.

Submitted By: Miss D GowdyThe apartments are spotless and beautifully maintained, although we miss the old style shutters, Costa is a lovely friendly man, very quiet but very very helpful.
There are many wonderful restaurants my favourites being Roma, and Golden beach, the food is to die for and the staff welcome us back like long lost friends each year!
I cannot recommend the Rainbow highly enough, if you are mature and enjoy peace, quiet and total relaxation in a clean and beautiful environment.

Submitted By: Miss D I WattsThe apartments themselves are spotless, they are clean and tidy and in lovely surroundings due to the owner being in his garden. He is also a nice man quiet but there if you need him. Although they are situated on the main road it can be quite noisy if doors and windows are left open but this isn't necessary as air con and fans are available.
They are situated just over the main road from the resort centre the beach is about 200m away which is ideal as you can get more of a breeze at the beach. There is also a lovely Greek taverna over the road which is cheap and your meals are lovely each time. They also hold a Greek night on a Monday and a Friday which are very enjoyable!
Overall this holiday was fabulous for our family as Stalis is a good resort that caters for people of all ages.

Was here in 2003 and had a great time so when it came to bringing kids on there first holiday I thought here would be a good idea..... how wrong was I. Kostas is long gone and in come Dimitri and Sue who seem to think loud is best, until 3-4 am most mornings trying in vain to get the 1 -2 people at the bar to dance when all most wanted to do was sleep, Don’t get me wrong there nice people but suited to Malia, or a 18 30 club. Dim is a sound guy when he sits a chats, but becomes some one else behind the bar...
Rooms were cleaned 2 in the week due to it been quiet, some how I don’t think that’s fault but was told this any way, drains in bathroom were blocked no panic either, was told sand, we never were @ a beech as we spent your time in Starbeech, a must 4 families( this a waterpark with djs bungees and so on)
Quads and bikes are a probably in the resort but hey, there cheap transport.
This was my 4th time in Stalis and not my last, Im heading to Koni in July as it looks lovely.
A family of 3 can eat out here with a beer for €29 - € 30 not bad i must say...<br>

The cleaners didn't change the bedsheets or towels either and when we complained to the staff, they were unresponsive and basically brushed off our complaints. Maria, the woman that owns the apartments, was rarely available and left 2 other men in charge instead. One old man listened to our complaints but did nothing to actually deal with them. The other man, the pool-bar worker, turned us away and treated us in a patronising manner...his answer to anything we said was that he can't help us with anything to do with the rooms and that it was pointless even talking to him. The problem was that maria left these two men in charge for the majority of the time and so we had no other choice!
the hotel is close to the beach and there are plenty of bars/restaurants there...but the staff at the hotel ruined our stay.
