This the second time I’ve been to Malia, but the first time at Aeolos and probably the last because simply it was not as we expected. Not for any major reason really apart from having no hot water or clean towels for 5 days.
The first weeks weather was fantastic but on the second week the weather was horrendous which we would of coped with a bit better if the pool bar was open so we could get something to eat or drink instead of braving the torrential rain in order to reach somewhere suitable to get these amenities which was a fair distance from the Aeolos.
So I would strongly advise people to visit Malia but not in October because the weather is not any better than your own country but if you do go please make sure to take warm clothes a brolly and also your wellies! And don't come home with the flu as my partner and I did.

This was my seventh visit to Aeolos Beach, obviously I don't like it very much! To me it is ideal - especially when you consider how much you pay.
The brothers, Vangelis & Manolis, are lovely people - always polite and helpful. Anita & Daryl (daytime bar service) are brilliant and provided us with hours of fun and laughter. The food available during the day is first rate and excellent value. Manos covers the bar on an evening and again is great.
The hotel is ideally situated for both Malia and Stalis and the beach is on the doorstep. Rooms are clean and inviting - and the maid service is everyday - except a Sunday. The rooms have been recently up graded and now have satellite TV’s and fridges.
Both the old block and the newer block provided the same standard of accommodation. I can't wait to my next visits May 07 and Oct 07.

Great hotel what more can you ask for hotel on the beach!
Far enough away from the main road at Malia so you can get a good nights sleep people with families are better off walking into Stalis 10 mins walk it seems to be cheaper that way as well.
Lovely people who own the hotel its clean friendly and serves good food I would definitely go back there.

What a great hotel that was, the two brothers that owned it were great, anything you wanted they were there they couldn’t do enough for you.
Our room was great if anyone’s going to this hotel take a travel kettle with you as there is small fridges in the rooms and sometimes nice to have a cuppa .The breakfast was toast and cereal tea, coffee and juice but they did sell cooked breakfasts really cheap the maids were ok left you alone if you were in bed when they came Anita worked behind the bar during day and Manos worked all night they both really looked after you both great people.
They charge you for using the beach sun beds but so do most of the hotels on the beach it was far enough away from the town centre so the only noise you heard was people coming in on a night and that happens everywhere great hotel and great people!

This was my second visit to Aeolos hotel as I found it ideal for such a large group of friends. The hotel itself is in an ideal location as its only a short walk to Malia yet still a good distance if you want the odd quiet night.
The hotel is run by a family who are all very friendly and welcoming. There was always someone on hand if you needed them.
The rooms are basic and the maid service is average. As the breakfast was serviced to early for us we ordered of their menu which has a large selection. There are plenty of local restaurants close by if you fancy a change though and their prices are reasonable.
I would recommend to walk into Malia and get a taxi into Hersonissos or take a stroll into Stalis.

Me and my partner visited this lovely hotel. The place as a whole was exceptionally clean. The hotel is run by two brothers who were always on hand to help.
The breakfast was continental and very basic including toast with jam and cornflakes, however the bar food was served from 9.30 till late and the offered a wide range of food including breakfasts for small costs. The rooms at this hotel were lovely and clean too, offering a maid service everyday.
This hotel was in a perfect location, 400 meters from all the lively bars of Malia and in the opposite direction a short stroll to the much quieter resort of Stalis. The area immediately surrounding the hotel was very quiet. All in all this holiday was one of the best and will definitely visit again.

Our first visit to Crete! Beautiful Island, very scenic and lovely friendly people. Malia beach road was buzzing, o.k. for party animals! The Aeolos Beach Hotel was basic but comfortable and clean. Breakfast left a lot to be desired! It consisted of toast or buns & jam!!
The water in the swimming pool really needed to be kept cleaner but thankfully the Hotel was situated directly on the beach so we were able to keep cool & swim in the sea!! Overall, the Hotel is situated in a good place within walking distance of many eating places, shops, transport and nightlife. We will definitely go back again in the near future.

Myself and 2 friends stayed at the hotel last summer and we had a brilliant time! The hotel caters to a variety of holiday goers, but personally I felt that it leaned towards a younger market, which in all honesty was perfect for us!
The beach backing onto the hotel is spacious but nothing tends to happen and there are no activities or people, for that matter. It's very peaceful for relaxation but if you demand something a little more active then it's best to head over to the neighbouring beaches.
There is plenty of activity, water sports, and music for an entertaining day at the sea. Loungers cost about 3 Euros for the day but the owners were very helpful and even offered to watch our towels, etc, whilst we went to eat. The pool is a good size and even has a bar in it for a lounging swim which were very happy about!
Breakfast tends to be quite early and therefore, if you head out into the centre until late, chances are that you'll miss it. To buy a breakfast was reasonably priced, (about 6 Euros for a cooked breakfast) and the restaurant offered lots of varying meals throughout the evening.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the centre along the main road. It's quite dim and there's not much light but it's always busy with plenty of people. Quad bikes can be hired from a shop next to the hotel.
The rooms were cleaned every day, although, the staff tend to come in very early and many a time they'd be in before we'd arrived back from a night out! Restaurants are wonderful and the food is brilliant.
The hotel insists on taking your passports but looks after them until you leave which we found useful. They also offer a safe in your room for an extra 20 Euros. We took this offer and it came in very handy.
Rooms are a little small for 3 sharing but not too small for anyone to get on your nerves! Lovely bathroom with a good, spacious shower. Staff were cheerful and helpful.
There were plenty of Reps and events for young adults and there is a trip to a large water park about an hour away for 40 Euros per person.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely contemplate going back. If you are looking for a young adult’s holiday I would certainly recommend this.
However, for a quieter holiday, this may not be the best place. It can be very noisy in the early hours with people arriving back and the noise from the centre, although distant, can still be heard. But despite that, we had a wonderful time and would recommend to all.
