The Seagull Apartments are modern, pleasantly decorated studios and apartments. There is a large, unusually shaped pool set in attractive gardens where you can relax and soak up the sun. Should you feel more energetic you could try your hand at football or tennis. For the children, there is a separate section of the pool, a playground, video games and the kid's club guaranteed to keep them occupied for hours. In a quieter area of the resort and 150m from Penera Bay. A selection of shops and bars are close at hand, while the main resort centre is 2km away.

the appartments were great however it was advertised and sold to my by thomas cook as being in protaras when it actually is not and to get to protaras centre its around a 30-40 min walk or eight euros in a taxi, however the appartments were a great size and clean on arrival and after reminding the reception twice the towels were not changed once in the week that i was there so it was handy that I had my own but generally a very pleasant stay and would return

Noisy resort at night. Lots of building work going on around the apartments. Roads and pavements unfinished. Unfriendly staff. Horrible food at apartments.

Apartments had nothing for children to do. Resort is like a hot Blackpool.

If you like tribute acts and like to see the same one but in different bars all week then this place would be the place for you.

Beaches are small and rocky which was unsafe for children.

Highlight of the holiday was trip to Famagusta absolutely breath taking.

Ayia Napa was more of a family friendly place which I couldn't believe.

We are due to go to the fantastic Seagull Hotel on 3/9/08 this will be our third stay, we are counting the days off, cant wait to see all of our friends who come year after year, the staff are so friendly and as it is a family run business it makes it feel like home from home especially as the Cypriot people are so lovely. We find the pace of life here in panerra is just what we are looking for, lovely restaurants with superb food especially Sizzlers which is opposite the Hotel, very handy when we have had a few glasses of the local wine. It is only about a half an hour walk into Protaras which is a livelier resort. Andreas and dometrius run the bar at the Seagull and they will carry on serving as long as we want sometimes in to the early hours !! well why not we are on Holiday after all.

Before arriving at the hotel i expected it to be very basic and with not much things around to do. But when arriving i found that the hotel was lovely and the food served there was out of this world. the bus rides were only 1.35 to go anywhere and we were surrounded by restraunts and entertainment. what a brilliant 2 weeks!!!! we did have to pay for air conditioning but this was not a problem as it was not that expensive. the food in the hotel was also cheap and the staff were very friendly. we also heared there was building work around the hotel but this could not be heared and did not cause a problem. the beach was just a minute walk from the hotel and there was also a supermarket oppisite the hotel. best holiday iv been on!!!!

having been in 5 star holidays for the last 7 holidays(we are also going to another 5 star in 1 month) we were asked to a very important friends wedding so we went on the thought of keeping the price down. i found the seagull apartments on this site and read the comments and thought they sounded pretty good.my wife my son and myself and another three couples went. on arrival we were all impressed by the size and cleanliness of the whole place(seagulls).throughout our stay all the staff were excellent and the cypriot atmosphere is kept by the owner and his family, demitrios and andreas new exactly how to treat each nationality, scottish, english, austrian, greek etc. i would have no hesitation in going back to the seagull as we went to a wedding at the nearby costantinos the great hotel were the staff (mainly the eastern europeans ) were cold and sometimes rude to five star guests (which we paid for to stay there that day for the wedding). on our return to the seagull we realised just what a great find this place was. the only bad feelings i left with was was guilt as my wife and i had a meal just before we left and i thought my wife had paid and her me, so it gives me a good reason to return to pay for my meal and meet this wonderful "family" again

Yes, another fantastic holiday again, this year was even better,we knew what we were expecting and nothing has changed at all so overall a fab time we even took along friends this year too as we enjoyed our stay last year so much. Dimitri and Andreas were as lovely as usual, all staff were fantastic.. On the website it states that building work was going on but this didnt disturb us at all.. Fantastic holiday, weather was scorching which was nice.. high 90's even reaching 100's some days.. My 6 year old son enjoyed himself even more this year knowing that he could swim thanks to his swimming coach "morris" haha.. Fantastic to see the same faces again from last year.. we will definitely be back next year, if not before... definitely 10/10... again..

We stayed at the Seagull Apartments for 1 week and we would go back. We went to a wedding in Cyprus so we were forced to go away in School holdidays so booked the Seagull to to keep cost down. Our initial reaction was it was a little old fashioned which in all honesty it is but our apartment was spacious, comfortable and most importantly was very clean. The facilities within the apartment were excellant all the staff were really helpful/friendly and the other guests were also really nice. There is alot of building work going on right next to the hotel, during the day by the pool it was not a problem but our room faced out onto the front of the hotel and most mornings we were woken by the trucks/wagons heading to the site. If your looking for early nights or your a light sleeper ensure you book a room at the back of the hotel. At the front of the hotel is the the 'Ranch' bar which I have to say is a great bar but due to illness one day I tried to get an early night and the singer was that loud he sounded like he was singing live in them the bedroom! You have to pay extra for Air con and safety deposit boxes.

We would go back to the Seagull as we did enjoy our stay and the noise didnt really impact on us. The hotel is really clean and I felt safe staying there.

Not alot to do in the area, if you like laying on the beach and pool side then come. This town / village is only two roads with hotels, restaurants, bars and shops selling the same things over and over again. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms are on the small side. the maid service turn up every day. The staff are all to willing to help if not a bit dizzy!

My partner & I had the pleasure of staying at the Seagull for a fortnight. There was a worry about the nearby building work taking place - not a problem, the beautiful afternoon breeze & the sound of people splashing around in the pool easily overcome this. Friendly staff & although quiet, an excellent location made our stay at the Seagull one to remember, as much so we will be returning this September!! By the way, the Restaurant opposite must be given a go although pricey worth a visit!

Are there 2 seagull hotels in Perena because the reviews I have read certainly do not describe the hotel we were staying in. First thing I did on arriving was look at the beds they were appalling. Thread bare sheets and scruffy mattresses.

After complaining and being told there were no mattresses available for a couple of days. We decided to sleep on the couches and yet again they were scruffy so I had to wash them down.

The room was very basic. The bathroom was never cleaned properly especially the toilet. The reception area and pool were the best areas.

We have stayed in Protaras before it is much better. Don’t think I’m a moaning Minnie but seeing is believing.

Lovely apartment though a bit basic, but then we were hardly ever in it so it was good enough. Staff friendly & helpful.

There is a lot of building work going on in Pernera at the moment although it didn't bother us too much. We had good meals at Il Cavaliere which is an Italian restaurant, the Mexican Restaurant on the corner and the one next to it on the left whose name I've forgotten. If you like karaoke then you will love Pernera & Protaras.

Tribute acts abound, if you love Elvis then he is on a lot in this area! Pernera beach is nice but rocky but we went on a boat trip from here to see Famagusta and then down to Cave Greco and it was lovely!

Check out Steve at the Barley Mow which is just down the road from Il Cavliere. This was a really nice pub, not too noisy and he will play any musical request you want. All you have to do is ask! I would definitely recommend the Seagull apartments to anyone and it is family friendly.

The only meals we had here were the full English breakfast which was very nice. The milk shakes were also very nice. Having stayed in Protaras last year we found Pernera to be a bit of a letdown.

We did however hire a car from Platon Car Hire which is along from Il Cavaliere and the rates were very reasonable. We went to the Troodos Mountains which are lovely but we had a lousy meal in a cafe right at the top overlooking the mountains which was infested with stray cats!

Overall, we really enjoyed our 2 weeks and will definitely be coming back to Cyprus again, we just love the island. Unfortunately we wouldn't stay in Pernera again. We much rather prefer Protaras.

The beach at Fig Tree is hard to beat and Pernera beach just isn't as nice.

Very nice apart from the changing of the towels, we had to ask for our towels to be changed, but were done straight away.

Pool was very clean and the reception staff were very friendly. We ate out most nights and would definitely recommend Sizzlers, literally a 30 second walk. We had plenty to do during the day and our nights were spent in an English bar called the Barley Mow Pub, (also a very short walk) who were extremely friendly and welcoming.

One day we went snorkelling and would recommend going with Will who runs Flippers. (He works in the Barley Mow Pub). We have not been back a week yet but have already booked for next year, this time for 2 weeks.

I very much wanted to love this place as much as some of the other reviewers seemed to have had. Unfortunately none of my party did.

I'll start with the positives: The cleaning of the place was fantastic, the maids deserve medals. 10 out of 10 for those ladies.

The rooms are spacious and you don't get a lot of noise travelling in from your neighbouring rooms, which was good.

The pool area was lovely, spacious and clean with showers (though one of the two broken), foot cleaning pool and toilets (not disabled) and plenty of beds.

Negatives.

There is building work some way from being completed happening on two sides of the apartments (pool side and main road side), which 6 days a week from 7am-5pm takes its toll.

On the pool side the bar also creates a lot of noise from 8am until 2am the following day. We didn't find staff particularly helpful or as friendly as other reviews say, until we had been there for 10 days then they began to warm to us.

The restaurant food was not the best value for money, some of our hot meals (only had two) were served cold and a sandwich we ordered contained more fat than meat. Eat out instead at such places as speedy Gonzales in Pernera, the Steak and ale Restaurant (good set menus) or travel into Protaras (as we had to 12 of our 14 days) and try the Andama and Corner House.

My child didn't always find the apartment staff friendly, some of the children’s activities advertised in our brochure were simply not there and what was generally out of order during our stay.

The bin men collect 3-4 times a week at 3am in the morning. We moved rooms during our stay and still did not enjoy a peaceful break. Unfortunately for the Seagull the resort developed around it, so it is very central. If you like Karaoke bars then you will love this resort. We wish we had moved into Protaras to a seafront apartment. My partner had to purchase earplugs to help him sleep - I just slept on the beach!

First time to Cyprus as I’m usually a Spain fan, went as part of a wedding group with a family who use the apartments regularly.

What a superb location, Andreos and Demitry run the place like a finally tuned engine, and all other staff were also superb, everyone helpful and nothing is too much trouble helping to make the place brilliant.

The apartments spotless, food great, poolside and bar super and the location is ace. Nice little friendly town with plenty of cold beer available, recommended to all.

My husband and I stayed at the Seagull Apartments for two weeks in August and had a fantastic time. We are in our late 40s and there were enough bars and restaurants for what we are looking for.

If you are travelling with younger people they would have to go into Protaras or Ayia Napa for the clubs. However, there are taxis running at all hours, and they seat between 6 and 10 people so a taxi is not expensive.

The staff were very polite and helpful regardless of time of day or night and although we ate at many of the different restaurants in the area the food we had at the apartments was also very good.

Pernera has its own small beach which is about a 2/3 minute walk from the apartments or we sometimes took the bus into Protaras where the beach is much bigger. The bus is around £1 and it doesn't matter if you are going into Protaras or Ayia Napa it costs the same and they were regular.

We will most definitely go back to the Seagull Apartments and hope to visit again sometime in the not too distant future.
