We have just returned from the Hotel Aqua in Icmeler. We had a fabulous time. The hotel was really nice - although I would class it as 4 star rather than 5 star. We had a room overlooking the pool which was kept nice and clean. Towels were changed daily and sheets every... more

Hotel was conveniently situated to town centre, which was just a few minutes stroll away. We found the resort lively enough, however at midnight it does become very quiet. However, if you prefer more night life, hop on a bus to Marmaris which is about 20 minutes away.... more

very pleasant
A clean respectable hotel, very friendly staff , lovely grounds
Aqua hotel. Enjoyed our stay.
Really enjoyed the Aqua hotel. The food was great, all you can eat breakfast and dinner buffet with a LOT of selections. Fantastic! Entertainment was nice as well. The pool and the scenary was fabulous. The hotel is on the beach. Beautiful beach, not fine/white sand but it's still nice. The rooms were great, bathtub a little small. Perhaps some parts of the hotel (lobby decor) needed a little updating. I would stay here again. A definate 4 * by North American standards.
AQUA HOTEL - ICMELER
We have just returned after 1 weeks HB stay at the AQUA . Overall we were very satisfied. This hotel location is fab!!! right in the centre. Food was very good, varied. Hotel grounds really lovely. My only complaint is the rooms in this hotel are very basic (NOT 5*) however as you don't spend any time in your room its not that bad!!! Cleaned everyday. The pool area is very nice but I thought perhaps you could have ordered drinks/ice creams around the pool but there was not this facility - no waiters to be seen (usually this is available at 5*) If your thinking of going - GO its worth the money but just don't expect pure luxury !! very satisfied
me and my wife with a couple of friends spent a wonderfull vacation in which the hotel facilities took a major part. The staff was polite and efficient. Hotel surrounding clean and very good maintained. The restaurant and the kitchen surprised every day with new and even better dishes. Please take note that the hotel was only partially occupied, most of the time. We realy feel that this hotel will be prefered by us on our next vacation in Turkey.
Good value for money
We have spent one week vacation in the hotel, which I found priceworthy. The rooms are comfortable, though noneof them have good sea view. The restaurant is fine, the garden is beautiful, so is the pool area. We had some problem with the air conditioning, but it was fixed (2 am in the night). The hammam is average,I have seen better ones in other 4 star hotels we stayed elsewhere in Turkey. We had to pay 4 TL for the mattress on the private beach of the hotel, which was a little surprising for a 5 star hotel. Overall, we were reasonably satisfied,I can recommend the hotel for a quiet vacation. No animation programs provided, but we did not miss it. The evening shows are OK, although we watched only a few.
Better management needed.
This hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, the scenery is stunning the hotel public rooms are well appointed. Unfotunately the food choice in the resaurants is poor and hot food is served at best luke warm but mostly cold. We had problems the first week with the air conditioning and were provided with a fan, but it was never entirely satisfactory. The rooms and in particular the bathroom were very dimly lit and need brighter lighting, bathroom also old an in need of refurbishing. Its also unique to this hotel that you pay for replacement tea and coffee after the first one at £1.50 a go, so buy them outside its cheaper. The carpeting in the corridors was shabby and also in need of replacing. We also found it difficult to get a parasol at the poolside at times and discovered that a number of people using the facilities were not staying at the hotel, no checks were made so people who are staying at the hotel lose out. The drinks in the bars were exorbitant, so therefore nearly always devoid of customers, we bought a brandy when we arrived and it cost the equivalent of £8, needless to say we didn't buy drinks there again. The staff in general were extremely helpful, and in particular we were given more help and assistance from Rico who runs the in house jewelry shop. The hotel needs a more professional management team.
Loved will go back again
Dear All Moved to the Aqua hotel after a bad experience at another Hotel Amazing , wonderful , friendly , are but a few words to discribe this hotel - the service was outstanding the food amazing - and views to die for Andy
five star lobby, four-star service, three star food
Me and my wife stayed at the Aqua for a week in late October. The hotel has some really nice features and touches (the lobby, the bathrobe and slippers in the room), but is a bit shabby and run down in other places (the bedrooms were of a reasonable standard, but the bathrooms were pretty old and small). The service of the staff varied from very attentive to extremely poor, and the food was pretty woeful. The pool is great, the beaches pleasant, and Icmeler was a bautiful place to go - thoroughly recommend the resort. Overall, my personal opinion is it the Aqua just about reaches a four-star rather than being a five. We went at the end of October, right at the end of the season, so occupancy rates were low (about 25%) and staff were clearly winding down (the rooftop bar, which had a great view over the sea had already closed). This made the problems we had with the food even more suprising. You'd have thought that the buffet restaurant would have been able to handle the relatively small number of people coming in (probalby 150 people per night when we were there), but tables were very rarely set with cutlery, and the tablecloths were always very dirty. Labelling on the food selections was poor. The restaurant opened from 630-930pm, but they were already closing things down by 845pm, and by 9pm the selection of food available was slim. The a la carte restaurant was ok, but we were rushed through three courses in less than an hour - the food was nothing exceptional in here and looked like it had been prepared well in advance of us turning up. There are a good selection of bars in the Aqua, indoor and outdoor. Ok, in agreement with other reviews, the cocktails are pretty expensive compared to elsewhere in Icmeler, but there's a good selection of wines and beer and the bar staff were friendly. The pool area is excellent. The pool is very large, and extremely quiet. We had no problems getting a sunbed, and the staff on hand by the pool were great. The beach was also good - but full of wasps, perhaps it was the time of year. The rooms were clean, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. As mentioned earlier, the bathrooms were disappointing for a five star hotel - pretty dark and run down. The hotel lobby is a nice feature, very Art Deco, and there's a few classic American cars parked on the steps outside (not sure why!). There's a selection of books available to read and plenty of on-site shops. Annoyingly, the hotel will only let you stay in your room till 6pm when you pay for an extended stay on the day of departure. With most flights leaving in the early hours of the morning, and with occupancy rates so low, they could have been more flexible. To the credit of the hotel, they've left the guest book out on permanent display, and thumbing through this gave you a good idea of other people's views. People tended to be happy with the pool, the beach, and in many cases the food and the service. People tended to be less happy with the permanent grumpiness of many of the staff, the poorly labelled food, the selection of food, and the late checkout policy. Can't please all the people all the time I guess. The hotel is very well placed near the beach in Icmeler, and near to the boats for getting into Marmaris. Icmeler is a lovely place, the bars are very friendly and numerous, there's a good market, and the beach is very picturesque. The bars are clearly catering for a largely English clientele - you could see just about every English football match, from Premiership to Beazer Homes league live on telly if you wanted. The Romeo and Juliet had a nice atmosphere, as did the Heaven bar. We didn't get that much hassle in terms of staff trying to entice you into bars, but that was probably a reflection of the fact that it was end of season. Marmaris was more lively, and it took at least an hour to get from one end of the harbour to the other, by which point you had accrued about 100 restaurant cards and flyers! Overall, Icmeler is a very pleasant resort, ideal for relaxing, especially if you go at the end of season, although I imagine in the height of summer it would be much more lively and full. A word of warning, stock up on food/drink before you get to Dalaman airport for the return flight. A cup of coffee was £6 at the airport and the Burger King was charging £9 for a whopper! CJ, Leeds
Excellent Hotel
I've just returned from the Aqua Hotel where I spent my honeymoon. The hotel is faultless, the staff are very friendly and helpful and always willing to learn new english. The hotel is clean and the food is very good with a different menu every night, we never ate the same thing twice..it's amazing what they can do with a potato! They have a very large outdoor pool and a very warm indoor pool. There were only 20 of us staying in the whole of the hotel so the treatment we got was fantastic! The resort hadn't quite opened yet so that was extremely quiet. The weather was very good with only one thunderstorm. My only problem is when we went got to Marmaris, with not many people being in either resort it made us fair game for all the shop keepers.Being mithered to go into shop after shop is not my idea of fun and I didn't enjoy it at all needless to say we didn't stay long. Shopping is a large part of holidays or at least looking but I didn't feel I could even do that. The people in icmeler are far nicer.
Superb service and surroundings
Have visited on 5 occasions. Surroundings absolutely excellent - especially if you choose to eat outside alongside the water. Service, food, rooms all superb. Have visited other 5 stars in Turkey but this is the best. Returning this year.
