We stayed at the Mersoy for 2 weeks, the hotel is lovely although we did have a disagreement over what exactly a ''pool view room is'' surely been able to view the pool from your room is a must! That aside the pool area is lovely and we managed to get the huge comfy beds at the side of the pool every time we planned to stay there.
Icmeler itself is lovely and we especially like Turunc (a short boat ride away) for snorkelling and peace and quiet. There is a guy we called George as he looked like George Hamilton right at the end of the beach offering free sun beds, he is lovely and his little restaurant is so cheap and the food is delicious, mixed Meze's a must.
The staff at the restaurant are very friendly but do constantly remind you that they work on comission and can often be less friendly if you decide to eat/drink elsewhere.
DO NOT do half board the food is terrible and very repetitive, spaghetti bolognaise and pasta with meat and tomato sauce ARE the same thing :0)) seemed like a ploy to have you eat from the al a carte menu which isn't much better. We had chewy calamari, tough steak and dry pasta, I couldn't comment on the rest of the menu as we only ate there once.
The breakfast is quite limited unless you like ham, cheese or omelette, there is only one person cooking omelette's so more often that not you had to wait ages or it was served under cooked. However there was always fruit, yogurt ect that looked quite nice but after I saw the cat walking over the food on that particular counter once or twice decided not to give it a go.
Champagne bar and restaurant is worth a visit just over the road, the steak (medium rare) was cooked to perfection but funnily enough the best meal we had in icmeler was at the Harmony bar at the end of the bay, the ''Stella Show'' is on there most nights which was quite funny and if you eat there the ticket price is waved, we between us had steak, fish stew, pasta and pizza's and the food was divine, calamari with crisp batter that melted in the mouth and all very reasonably priced. Would highly reccomend however probably not a good idea to take young kids if the show is on, its quite rude!! :0))
The ''Turkish Bath'' under the hotel all wear Mersoy T-shirts but have actually nothing to do with the hotel, they just rent that space, stear clear of this group and shop around for somewhere more professional, all 5 of us booked there after been harassed by the pool and it was quite an experience (not good) all young Turkish men and its like been fed through a cattle market not forgetting the photographs they take of you every step of the way, my husband and I were surrounded by 3 of the staff on the way out and felt so much pressure we ended up buying the disc of photo's which were not very clear at all.
We also had to speak to the manager a couple of times about the young man on reception who is very, very rude. He was always arguing with all the guests and just wanted to be left alone, when the manager spoke to him infront of us about our problem he ripped his tie off and threw it at the manager then starting banging his fist down on the reception worktop whilst glaring at us, we actually found this quite amusing but not very proffesional.
I loved Icmeler and would higly reccomend im just not sure with all it's teething problems if I would reccomend this hotel, which is such a shame because it has so much potential.

Perfect Stay at Bellavista

Usually i don’t like holidays as weirdly miss everything English. It started off a nightmare as our flight was delayed from 8:30pm until 5am although this was the airlines fault. We got to the hotel and unfortunately i felt ill so spent first 3 days in bed. But when i did venture out to get food which yes is exceptional , I felt very welcomed by the hotel staff and locals. Although we went half board we paid to have the al a carte meal which was delicious. The staff are really great too. I would definitely recommend going here as i had the time of my life and will be trying my best to get back there. Definitely a great holiday at Mersoy Bellavista. Thanks to everyone there.

What a Con

What ever you do, only book with Thomsons. Any one else and they over book all the time and shunt you into their other grimy hotels and try and give you "all inclusive" which is not worth it as the food is poor, and what is "included" is minimal. They try and put you in the Mersoy Exclusive or Mersoy Oriental Suites which they own and we had not heard until they tried to put us in them or in their "dungeon rooms"
We booked and paid for an adults only "boutique" hotel and did not get it.
Their so called "manager" is ignorant. He walked off and left while talking with us and then when we evetually caught up with him he threatened to call the police and have us thrown out of the hotel if we kept complaining!
The other staff are friendly and the receptionist was really helpful, but was not allowed to help us. Every time we were in reception, we heard other people were complaining about not getting their rooms.
What a "clever" ruse to fill their other cheap hotels by the owners!!

Just stayed at the Mersoy for 2 weeks and it was fantastic, staff were very friendly, food great - good choice and plenty of variety. The resort of icmeler was full of bars and restaurants but went quiet at midnight (good for kids getting to sleep) Only problem was that there was no entertainment except on Fridays when the Belly dancer and turkish dancers turned up.
Overall we all had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Just returned from one week in Icmeler staying at the Mersoy. Had a fab holiday. Hotel was great. Staff were wonderful. My only complaint would be the rudness of some of the guests. No wonder the staff get annoyed. I found the staff to be helpful, kind, friendly and a great sense of humor. Our hotel room was fab. The location was ideal. I would definetly go back and no hesitation about staying at the hotel again. I was not that keen on the food for all inclusive however it is the same at any hotel with all inclusive. They was still something that I could eat and enjoy at every sitting. But food was cheap at all bars and restaurants in Icmeler.
I think this location is great for a holiday. Lively but not out of control. No violence.
Thanks to all staff at hotel for a great holiday!

WHAT A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!! My wife...

WHAT A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!
My wife and I stayed in his god forsaken place for 2 weeks of hell. We are not your usual complainers but feel we are prompted to warn others NOT TO BOOK.
1, Staff need to take happy pills
2, Although all inclusive we couldn't bring ourslves to eat the food
3, Could not flush toilet (used waste bin to flush it)
4, lifts didn't work
5, disabled guests beware as you can be put on top floor with no lifts and have to be carried down by your family as a couple of guests soon found out
6, loose carpet on stairs (one lady fell and hurt her back)

7, wet floors (another victum fell whilst we were there) be warned prehaps staff should give out crash helmets as you check in.
8, rotten woodwork in poor quality rooms where cockroach's were rife.
9, not enough sun beds although probabably a good thing so you can have abreak from FAULTY TOWERS.
So in summery book at your peril.
Would have given it 0/10 but didn't have a button for that!!

We stayed in the Mersoy Exclusive for...
9 / 10
Jan 2008, Mrs E C Bell

We stayed in the Mersoy Exclusive for a Week. Room was gorgeous, massive... booked a twin room, got a single bed and a double bed. Huge wardrobe and then 3 chests of drawers on top of that! fridge, air con, and TV.
However, friends were put in absolutely tiny room but when they saw ours they complained and were moved to another, so beware if you get put in a small room...there are better!
Food was basic, pretty much the same sort of stuff everyday but they were always feeding you and it was nice enough food.
Great place to be, 2 minutes walk from beach. Sun beds at the beach are about 2.50 lire but you can easily get them down to 4 for 6-8 lire.
Pools were nice, one indoor, two outdoor. None got packed which was nice.
Bar was great, waiters were lovely. Only allowed to get two drinks per time, but that's understandable.
As mentioned by other people, drinks card are taken off you at 12 on the day leaving. As our plane journey wasn’t until 10pm and we had to vacate our room at 12 noon, they let us have a room for an hour at tea time for a shower and whatever.
Bars were great, at first we were put off by what seemed pervy waiters/over friendly shopkeepers but soon enough you'll learn that a polite hi/bye & no thanks means they leave you alone.
Only problem with Icmeler is the nightlife ends at 12, bars have to turn off music then to stop problems with locals... you can stay later, but it's not the same.
There are some clubs which offer a free coach service to marmaris on a night if you go there club and a coach back all for free, sounded good but we never went.
One thing I DO NOT recommend - the night boat trip. CRAP. Drinks are expensive and it goes about 2 miles an hour. Same views all the way.
However, the day boat trip was great! 8 different places to stop and paddle, sea was gorgeous! Food was nice too.
Overall this was one of the best holidays I’ve ever been on, bars were nice, and hotel was lovely! Very cheap as well.

Well me and my partner went to the...

Nov 2007, Miss SJL Cannon

Well me and my partner went to the Mersoy Hotel for our first holiday together!! It was absolutely terrible!
We arrived early hours in the morning to be told that they hadn’t the room for us! By this point I was so upset and the manager was laughing at me - most of the staff were very rude!
The food was horrid and cold! The queue to the bar was extremely long and rooms were tiny and disgusting!! The shower flooded! The air conditioner was not on the wall properly and the water was either cold or orange!
But we had to make the best out of a bad situation. Holiday was lovely overall, apart from staying at the Mersoy hotel! We do not recommend this unless you want to spend a two week holiday in havoc and hell!

I would like to say that we have stayed at the Mersoy hotel 3 times now and I can't praise the hotel enough. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well cleaned and serviced. The food was fabulous, tonnes of salads and hot delicious freshly cooked food served outside. If you want to eat well and lose weight you can. Food was far better than any I've ever eaten on holiday! Remember they put fresh salad out in the morning. Had a great holiday! Definitely recommend Mersoy!

Myself and my partner booked this...
3 / 10
Sep 2007, Miss Terrie Maddison

Myself and my partner booked this holiday through bookable holidays (small company used by Teletext and icelolly.com). We have booked through them before so I was quite confident everything would run smoothly.
It was a disaster!!
When we arrived at Dalaman airport, Goldtrail (tour operator) said that we only had transfers to Icmeler and not to any particular hotel. They thought it was acceptable for us to walk around looking for a taxi to take us to our hotel, with 2 suitcases in tow!?
We eventually got to the hotel only to be told that the hotel didn’t have any confirmation of our 2 week all inclusive stay with them!
We arrived at the hotel at 9am local time (they are 2 hours in front) and bookable didn’t open their office for another 2hours back in the UK. The hotel staff didn’t offer us a drink, any food or a courtesy room until this was resolved!! Instead we were made to wait in reception (which has no air conditioning) until we could call the company we booked through and ask them to fax through confirmation.
The staff on reception were unsympathetic to our situation and wouldn’t even allow us to call bookable holidays from their telephone.
After the 2 hour wait and £45 mobile phone bill, bookable faxed through confirmation of our stay.
Without an apology we were lead to the smallest room which had 3 single beds crammed into it... We couldn’t even fit our suitcases in!! The bathroom was riddled with damp and there was black fungus and mould all around the bathroom (which stunk).
I requested a change of room as we had been assured when we booked the holiday that the hotel was 4*.
The hotel comprises of 3 buildings - One of which is a 4* and the other two rated as 3*. We had apparently been booked into the 3*. I have stayed in 2* accommodation in Benidorm which was 30 times higher standard than the MERSOY!! Very poor quality.
So they asked us to wait in reception whilst they suggested trying to clean the bathroom! Surely this should of been done already?
We sat and waited in reception until 1pm that day (still with no offer of food or drink) until they gave us a room which wasn’t really any better. We accepted purely so we could catch up on some sleep and unpack our bags.
The resort of Icmeler was beautiful and the locals from the bars and restaurants were really welcoming and pleasant to be around.
The staff from the hotel kitchen, restaurant, and bar work really hard and always have a smile on their face.
The pool area was really good with sunbeds, mattresses and lilo's FOC.
The food wasn’t bad. Pretty simple, salads, chips, rice, pasta, and chicken. My partner is very picky and he ate it without any fuss.
The weather was great, sunny, and hot everyday!
To top our holiday off the transfer didn’t turn up to pick us up on our day of departure!! We had to pay £60 for a taxi to the airport.
Icmeler is a great place just choose a different hotel and make sure you travel with a well known company.
