Holiday Inn Thessaloniki

I sleep on the third floor but a lot of street noise because the building the metro in the center.

We booked this Holiday Inn based on the late May, 2007 TripAdvisor ranking of #1 in Thessaloniki. The hotel is in Vardalis Square, a neighborhood certainly not the complete slum as characterized by some of the guidebooks (but it is a place where one shouldn't walk alone at night). Our room turned out to be top-notch--especially for 68 Euros a night, which we ultimately prepaid after cancelling our original nonprepaid reservation of 99 Euros. Spent a weekend at this hotel and got an executive suite for 200 euro's a night. The suite was two rooms and was as luxurious as any five star hotel I have stayed in. The Hotel staff were very helpful in particular the front desk, and the location was right in the center. Can't fault it.

Just got back from an overnight stay in this hotel. We got a good price (83EUROS per room ) for a one night stay. I was a bit nervous before going after reading on this site that the hotel was in a not great area but we found no problems and I certainly felt safe there. This hotel is located in a not-very-nice part of Thessaloniki. Not terrible, but there are a few sex shops nearby, along with a large supermarket. The beautiful harbor area was just a short bus ride away though, and the hotel is located on one of the main arterial roads in the city. I go Thessaloniki for business about every 1-2 months. I have stayed in this hotel four times so far. The only negative thing about it is its location - it is a bit noisy and not right next to the sea and shopping area. It is about a 20 minute walk to the downtown shopping area. The rooms are nice and clean, the friendly staff is very helpful and the pillow programme they have to let you choose a type of pillow (out of a selection of 4) is very convenient. I have been there 4 times and i will go again. Great Hotel,great service and very helpfull staff. It is great that they all speak german so I feel like home every time I visit Holiday Inn Thessaloniki.

Loved the Rooms . ADSL Internet in rooms and lobby area. Great for a relaxed dring at the piano bar. LOVELY STAFF. WAS A GREAT STAY.
