On arrival, the site is not of a modern appearance. However, our accommodation was in block B overlooking the pool and the sea and the setting could not have been more appealing.
We watched the sea in all different lights - the sunrises were magnificent.
Our apartment is privately owned so we had every convenience and comfort. We were very happy with the site - routine 'patrols' (walks round) by the friendly security guards and generally quite quiet.
However, we were out of the main season - September - and it was disappointing that the pool wasn't open.
A few hundred yards walk down to the lovely, sandy beach. Picturesque rock formations and the coastal path.
15 minutes stroll into Lagos centre with its interesting shops and amazing range of restaurants. Try L'Artista - a little more expensive but special.

We stayed in an apartment in Block B at Iberlagos in April 2006 and had a wonderful time.
Although the whole complex does not look overly inviting from the entrance, Block B overlooks the private pool and out over the sea and so offers fantastic views of wonderful sunrises and sunsets and is a great backdrop, if you just want to relax and read or chill out on the veranda.
On most mornings we walked the five minutes along the quiet and sandy beach below to the cliff top cafe, to enjoy breakfast and to admire more of the lovely coastal views that this part of Lagos offers.
Our apartment was clean and welcoming and provided everything we needed for a relaxing holiday - including a DVD player for evenings in!
Instructions were clear about the use of equipment in the apartment and there was a very helpful booklet of information about places in the area to visit that we appreciated.
A short walk into the town provided interesting little streets to explore and again lots of places to stop and have a snack/meal - with more choice than is often found in such areas for vegetarians!! - And to people-watch in a leisurely fashion.
There are lots of bars around and we quite enjoyed the absence of nightclubs - being past that stage!
There is a good supermarket on the edge of the town that met all our self-catering needs and it is open late so that we could call after a day out.
We hired a car and there was lots to see up the coast - we would recommend Cape St Vincent for the views and historical interest and some of the little towns on the way back are still unspoilt and worth stopping off to wander around.
We especially liked Luz and would go back there again. There are some lovely drives into the mountains and when we return - as we most definitely will - this will be something we will do next.

Rep got off bus at the stop before ours and didn’t say a thing, when we arrived I know why, it wasn’t a pretty place.
Receptionist didn’t know where are room was. The apartments had a damp smell all week but we obviously coped as we are still alive. No entertainment, food bar was very basic. Pool empty all week.
The Reception shop is full of nothing, go out of the complex and left past the football ground in front of the campsite the nearest supermarket is approx 100m up this road. We didn’t find this till the middle of the week and had been walking from the Town with big bottles of water etc which is a struggle in the heat, maybe this will help make it better for others. Rep charging extra 250 euros to move us. So we were trapped.
Praia Dona Ana beach is smallish with gritty sand. Better ones are a bus ride away like Luz and Praia Da Mos ( I think this was its name). Good luck trying to find where other beaches are. For Bus stops go out of the complex and turn left, continue up this road for approx half a mile.
Lagos old town is interesting to walk DOWN to, the first 3 times, but after this it gets boring. The restaurants are the best thing about Lagos, maybe the only thing that is nice there is plenty of choice and all seem to make good food.
Where do people get it that Portuguese are nicer than the Spanish, I think the shopkeepers were quite rude. My advice is to have enough money to hire a car so you can get to more interesting places. Not a good place to take older teenagers. Nothing for them to do.
Good luck.

Marvellous views! Quiet- which is what we wanted. Dona Anna beach superb and pool facilities just great. The only critisism I would make is the lack of airconditioning, but fans were available from reception. Reception personell were very friendly and helpful.Walk down to the town was long but good exercise after a day spent relaxing on the beach or by the pool! We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
