Good hotel with very friendly staff. Swimming pool on the 6th. floor was a welcome bonus.Food was simple yet adequate, not up to 4* standard in my view.location is just about right,close to Tasso Square, yet away from the bustle. For a fantastic espresso coffee try either of the two establishments on Tasso square.For good food any of the restaurants in the surrounding streets, or on the square are very good. Have been going to Italy for the past 20 years, and have stayed at this specific hotel many times while in Sorrento. It is central located and to get to the main area, it is walking distance. Also, if you go out the back door of the hotel and cross the street there is a beautiful bakery. We sat there many nights to have goodies and drinks. My only caution is the white marble entry and stairs, we were there one year and the white flooring all blends together, and an individual fell down the stairs and broke her ankle. Stayed last week Sept 1st week Oct 2004. Same weeks last year in parco del sole where the food was superior but the location was not so good. breakfasts usually cold (eggs/bacon). looking forward to the evening meal (half board)and surrounded by sea I sampled more species of fish in 14 days but they all tasted the SAME! not a very good cullinary experience. Excellent hotel, situated in quiet part of town but just a few yards from main square, shops, rail, bus etc.Clean good size well appointed rooms with air con and balconies. Large dining room serving good food (silver service). Friendly helpful staff.Rooftop pool and daytime bar.Would not hesitate to stay there again.
