This is a fantastic hotel and great value for money. It is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and efficient and the suites are fabulous. The sitting room has a settee (which becomes a bed settee), armchair, coffee table and large TV. The kitchen area has a hob, large... more

Found this hotel through CRSHotels.com for the great rate of $99 per room per night!!! Talk about a bargain, for this we had a suite with self catering facilities. The suite consisted of a bedroom with 2 large double beds, a bathroom, and vanity area then a separate lounge... more

The only negative points are the size of the pool (small and crowded but there are other hotel pools close by) and the location at the quieter end of I drive. Rooms were clean and with good quality furnishings with huge king bed and sofa bed as well, also a reclining... more

Great place
Did not want to leave it has too be the best place i have ever stayed in. I would think the bad reports must be a one off as i am very fussy. We used to get breakfast and take it back to our room as it was quite busy, the staff were very friendly,i don't have a bad word to say about it.
Wonderful! The one bad review must be a mistake!
I think the person from New York (April 18, 2004)who said "Don't stay there" must have confused this hotel with the one he/she stayed at. It is possible since there are many Homewood Suites in Orlando. We stayed there last year in April 2003 in it was absolutely great. Very clean, very good staff, hotel practically new. I looked at everything (carpet, furniture, cleanliness) and I did not see anything wrong. The pool is great, clean, etc., plenty of towels, maid service great, very polite & helpful staff. We could walk to Goodings (on International Drive) to do our grocery shopping. We had decided not to rent a car and use the shuttle which is fine, always on time; however, they must do something about "Grumpy" (as everyone nicknamed him), the driver from the shuttle service they use (mind you, maybe he's not there anymore!). But if you rent a car, that won't be a problem. I would go back without hesitation. Bye from Montreal, Canada.
Nice hotel for families
My wife, daughter and myself stayed April 11 - 17. We stayed in a 1 bedroom mini-suite. Nice for the adults to have the privacy of a separate bedroom with door to "watch Tv" alone and have the kid on the fold out couch in the living area where there was a 2nd tv. Room was clean, housekeeping did a good job. No complaints about the comfort of the fold out couch either. The king size bed was very comfy. Shower was good, plenty of hot water and good pressure. A big plus -- the huge free buffet breakfast every day. Everything from cereal to waffles, eggs, bagels, sausages, muffins, juice, fruit. Sorry to say we never made it back to the hotel in time for the 5-7pm managers reception (see bus schedule below) where I heard there was free beer, wine, hot snacks. Not many bad points about this hotel other than for us we should've stayed closer to Disneyworld. While this hotel is closer to Universal our trip was to go to Disney. The free bus shuttle to Disney was about a 30 min ride and while the morning shuttles were convenient the return trips didn't give you much choice - leaving Disney at 6:30, 8:30 or 10:30pm. Cost of a taxi to/from Disney 30 bucks one way! There are many restaurants, a quickie-mart & liquor store within easy walking distance. The room also had a kitchenette if you wanted to buy stuff at the quickie mart and cook it yourself.
Good Value, Great Location
I Stayed at the Homewood Suites from 19-26 March 2004.My suite was 117 on the ground floor beside the pool entrance and facing the exit door to the outside car park. The room was clean and spacious however the wardrobe space was limited but this was not a major problem. The room was cleaned every day and bed linens changed every other day. I only had one problem and that was that the hair dryer was not working but once i brought it to the attention of the staff it was replaced.Hotel is in a good location on I-Drive a 5min walk from Pointe Orlando and surrounded by restraunts. The I-RIDE Trolley and Lynx Bus stops just outside the property on the main road. All in all this is a middle class value for money property in a good location especially if you do not hire a car. What it is not is a 5* hilton. After a graet stay i will be returning agin later in the year and would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Don't stay here!
I just returned home from our vacation so this information is up-to-date!!! This hotel is DIRTY!!! Not to mention the air quality is terrible!!! I had made reservations back in December for a 2 bedroom suite for $169.00 for April 10-14. We arrived Saturday night at midnight, checked in and went up to the room. The carpets in lobby and walk to room needs to be cleaned, if not replaced. We stayed in Suite 431. The Kitchen floor was sticky and dirty, the linens were not changed and had foot prints on 2 of the sheets, the wall in the bathroom had bloody mucous on it. I saved the best for last, my daughter fell asleep on one of the beds and I pulled down the sheet to put her to bed and there was VOMIT ON THE MATTRESS!!!!!!!I went to the front desk and told the employee and he said he would get the manager who was on property for the night. He made a phone call and told me that he could move me into another room, but I would have to take 2 rooms/1-bedroom suites at an extra expense of $169.00. I told him no way and to find the manager. He called the manager back on the phone and had me talk to him. The Manager, Scott T, had the nerve to yell at me that it was 2am in the morning and this discussion could wait for the morning. Morning came and he was nowhere to be found, everyone that came to see was "supervisor" for the day. Finally when I threatened I was dragging the mattress down to the lobby he showed up and made it known that he was missing his Easter Mass. Well I'm sorry, but it was also my Easter and vacation. That morning other guests were also complaining that there rooms were dirty too. I even pointed out to the manager that the elevator floors were dirty and sticky. He walked around the lobby and was cleaning so guests would see that he was taking care of the filth, but it was already too late. Even the silk plants had inches of dust on them!!!Hilton Reservations informed me that this and other Homewood Suites is actually independently owned and to look for the sign at the front desk which we did see the sign.
Good Hotel
Stayed here for a week just before Easter and was quite impressed. There were, however, a few niggles for me. The kitchen is not a full kitchen as it lacks an oven which would be useful, however, there is a full size fridge which is a plus. The pool is in a central courtyard, surrounded by the 6-storey building on all sides so only gets the sun for part of the day. Yet with that this was a very nice hotel - clean and fairly quiet. The breakfast buffet is a bonus as there is a full selection, however, it does get quite busy. There is also a managers reception Monday-Thursday with various themes which is nice - they even serve beer and wine. I would recommend this for families going to the parks because of its central location and for anyone going to the Convention Centre as it's very close by.
Great place to stay and enjoy parks
My family spent 2 nights at the Homewood Suites while visiting Sea World and Magic Kingdom. We were very impressed by ALL of the staff. They were friendly and attentive. The room was very clean and the full kitchen was great to have in the room. The manager party was a plus to come back to after a long day at a park. They brought free pizza in and had munchies, beer, wine and soda. The breakfast buffet was also very good. There were many choices and the room had plenty of comfortable tables and chairs to enjoy a relaxing breakfast. The pool area is enclosed within the building walls. Although it is a small pool area, you didn't feel like you were in the middle of International Drive. I would definately recommend this hotel. Check out some of their packages. We had the Sea World one and it was a good deal. Also, Bahama Breeze restaurant is next door. A great place for dinner!!!
Went here based on TripAdvisor reviews
This was a host hotel for a gymnastics meet in February held at the Convention Center. Most other parents chose the Quality Inn or Days Inn on International Drive because the price was lower by about $20 to 30/night. After reading TripAdvisor reviews of those two hotels and Homewood Suites, I chose Homewood and am very glad I did. It was clean, the staff polite and helpful, and the breakfast complete. We used the outdoor heated pool and hot tub Sat night after my daughter's meet and it was delightful -- something special for my daughter who had worked so hard that day. The other parents who stayed at Quality or Days Inn were very unhappy -- the rooms were dirty and small, they did not feel safe, and no breakfast was included. It is worth the extra dollars a day for a good room!
Absolutely Wonderful
After a fliught that left much to be desired, we arrived at Homewood Suites. As we walked in, we were greeted by the most approachable staff members I have ever met. They warmly welcomed us by saying that there were refreshments, beer, and wine in the eating area. We both needed a drink, and decided to come down for the free meatballs and wine after putting our luggage away. We headed to our room that had the most COMFORTABLE bed that I have ever slept in. My daughter was upset that she had to sleep on the sofabed until later that night when we pulled it out for her. She yelled in to us that it was BETTER than her bed at home and promptly fell asleep. I cannot possibly give this hotel enough praise. You have to stay here to believe it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Iffy....
We were booked across the street at the Embassy Suites and were told they overbooked so they sent us to Homewood Suites for one evening. (They are sister hotels, I believe). Well, everything was fine..it was a cheaper room and smaller, but it had a full size fridge and a stove along with a dishwasher and a microwave with all the dishes and utensils you'd need. There was one sink outside the bathroom. Compared to the Embassy Suites..they had 2 sinks in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom (each had a sink in the kitchenette). Homewood was clean and it was nice, but the kitchenette shared the small table. The only problems were the thin walls and the loud couple a few rooms down having a very nice time. Also, you could hear the children running up and down the halls and them jumping on beds in the rooms. Other than the noise, it was nice.
