I went for this hotel as a holiday for myself and my 8 year old daughter. The hotel was nice and clean, and the staff very helpful.
Before we went I had read the reviews and was a little worried by the comments between block A and block B; now I would tell anyone not to worry. Both blocks are good, although I would recommend paying for a sea view.
The access to the beach was steep but once on the sand it was clean with a lovely view and gentle slope into the sea (good for children). The food was good and although repeated for the second week there was enough choice.
The entertainment crew were excellent and I would highly recommend them for the entertainment value, and the effort they put into the shows and activities (children’s and adults).
Overall I would go back and recommend this hotel for a family holiday.

The Hotel was very large and quite beautiful inside. Me and my boyfriend decided to go for a nice relaxing week - a proper beach holiday.
When we arrived at the Hotel, the Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is huge with lots of different areas. The Room was clean and had a TV with Freeview (which was good).
There was no sea view from the balcony, but we weren't to fussed about that. The beach was a short distance away, but I found it a bit annoying having to walk down the windy steps to get there.
There is an excellent beach bar and the waiters were great. The food in the hotel was good - although there was a lot of chips.
The pools were always very busy - definitely a family resort and not much to do in the evening, although the hotel tribute bands were good.
I will return when I have children - not really a place for young couples. But overall, it was a good holiday.

Just got back from the Hotel Aguamarina. Our first holiday away on our own without the children.
After reading some reviews before we went I was quite concerned as they were very mixed.
I shouldn't have been, because there was not one fault with the hotel, if there was one negative point, the resort was a little too quiet for us, you are limited to just a few bars, however it wouldn't put us of going back as the beach is fantastic!

Just returned back home after spending a superb week at this wonderful hotel. Everything about the place, the swimming pools & the grounds were absolutely immaculate. Friendly and helpful staff. The maid service was particularly good, with a regular supply of fresh, clean linen and towels.
We stayed in block B, which had an air conditioned room. It was a peaceful location with a balcony overlooking the shops and out towards the beach. An adequately sized room for both myself and my 11 year old son. But I could imagine that larger families would tend to struggle for space. There was a safety deposit box, which was usefully situated within the wardrobe. A TV with some English kiddies programs. Plenty of storage cupboards. A nice bathroom, the bath had an overhead shower. The card for a door key also operates the room lights and air conditioning.
A good selection of food for both breakfast and evening meals. However, the drinks are not provided with the evening meal and are quite expensive to purchase.
There is plenty of entertainment around the hotel for kids of all ages, so I can understand why so many families decide to return here.
First thing each morning the Sun beds around the pools are quickly snapped up. Often just covered with towels and nobody using them. Never did manage to lay down on one during the weeks holiday, but they did look rather comfortable!
The beach is absolutely beautiful, child friendly and only a short stroll from the hotel. The sea is exceptionally clean and lots of little fish can be seen swimming close to the beach. The sand is great for building sandcastles. Sun beds can also be hired on the beach, but they are rather expensive.
The resort is fairly small, with a few gift shops, bars & a tobacconist. But great for a quiet, relaxing holiday.
A little train stops outside the hotel and is an ideal way of seeing what the resort has to offer.
We would definitely go back to this hotel again. Highly recommended!

I returned from my holiday in Menorca last night, and already I want to go back. That was my fifth or sixth time there, at that hotel, but this time I went with my friend rather than with my parents.
We were put into a small room which wasn't in any of the main hotel blocks.. it was one of the rooms above the opposite shops. It didn't have a balcony and was very hot, but we were moved to another room the next day. Our cases were carried by hotel staff to our other room, which was very clean, had a balcony with a sea view, and air conditioning.
The cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. The cleaners work all day and start very early, changing the towels, making the bed and cleaning the floor every day.
The food at the hotel, I find is brilliant. Not everything is really nice but different foods will appeal to different people. However, there's always a good variety and throughout the week there was swordfish, veal, chicken, pasta etc. and you can always help yourself to however much you want each night.
Breakfast has a choice of sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon, beans etc. and there's drinks available such as Tea, Coffee, and a selection of juices.
The nightly entertainment lasts until around midnight and is always good. There's a mini disco for the kids (Which I loved when I was younger), and then bingo, followed by another show of some sort (Acrobats, Top of the Pops etc.) hosted by a group of friendly and entertaining reps.
The drinks at the hotel are also very good, and there's now a selection of Cocktails that weren't there last time I went. They're vice nice (I loved the pina colada) but they are 4 euros each. The drinks are a bit pricey when you're having dinner too, in my opinion. I think it was 2 euros for a small Pepsi bottle.
Overall, I think the hotel is a great place to stay. Having not been there for 5 years, all the changes I’ve seen have been for the good (the new restaurant in one block and the new shallow pool for the kids).
The hotel staff are friendly, the cleaners provide an excellent service, the food is always of a good quality, and we spoke to so many nice people who were staying there. A great place for a family holiday!

Arrived back home yesterday after spending a week at this hotel and my one piece of advice would be to ignore any bad things you've read about this hotel and decide for yourself!
Hotel spotlessly clean, food is good very samey but nice all the same, entertainment is excellent. We were in block B and had a room overlooking one of the pools and yes it had air conditioning the rooms are a little on the small side however we hardly spent much time in there (even though it rained on and off for 3 days).
If you like the look of this hotel just go for it I’m sure you won't be disappointed. We weren't and I can honestly say this was one of the first holidays where I was gutted to be going home and I am still on a downer now.

I booked this holiday prior to reading any reviews, and was somewhat concerned when I did read comments from other people from previous years.
I, like most people who have visited this hotel in the last year or so, was pleasantly surprised that the hotel appears to have improved significantly since those earlier reviews.
My first impression on arrival at the hotel was that it needs a lick of paint and was a little dated. When you step inside the building, however, the interior could not be more of a contrast. The marble and glass reception areas and landings are modern and spotlessly clean. Indeed cleaners appear to be on site from dawn till dusk polishing something.
I paid for a superior room in the A block. It appears that with the recent improvements in the B block there is very little difference between the two. The reception area, bar etc seems equally clean and comfortable.
The room we had was not huge but comfortable enough for 2 adults and 2 kids (aged14 and 11). Very clean and well equipped, efficient air conditioning, plenty of cupboard space, TV, fridge etc. Cleaned by the maids on a daily basis and regular changes of sheets and towels.
The grounds of the complex are immaculate with plenty of pools for adults and kids all over. With the lovely beach on the doorstep it could not be better with beautiful cliff top views thrown in.
The food is not going to win any awards but it catered for everybody’s needs, and none of our party of ten (ranging from 3year old to 70 year old) had any problems with it.
It was simple, plentiful and varied. The soups and salad/cold selections are an exception to this, they were very good indeed.
The on-site entertainers work tirelessly throughout the day, providing activities for all ages and the evening shows are reasonable enough, catering for most people's tastes.
Drinks in the hotel are not cheap, and many of the bar staff are surly and unfriendly, but there a several bars within easy walking distance where you get better value for money.
All in all this hotel is a good family hotel, which, when you see how the most recent comments are describing it, it is continually improving. I would recommend it to any families with kids thinking of going to Minorca.

Returned to this hotel for the 6th time this year.
The kids (aged 11 and 13) loved it and met up with friends that they had made 2 years previously. Families return year after year to this great hotel.
The entertainment team provide excellent daytime activities for all and are all lovely people that I have to mention them by name Patrick, Clara, Eric, Fabio, Gradon, Esther, Eleanora, Alan, Carlos, Catarina and Claudia.
The rooms are a bit small but you are only in the room to sleep and have a shower.
The maid service is second to none, the hotel is very clean. (cleaners still working at midnight!).
Food is fine and there is always lots of choice you can eat as much as you like.
The beach is fantastic and easy accessible. The hotel facilities are superb and all within easy reach.
Have already booked for next year!!
If you want a nice relaxing holiday, with plenty for kids to do then this is the place for you.

Ill give you the reason why I visited.
3 years ago me and my girl friend were 17 and we went on holiday to arenal den castell but stayed in a villa with family. We went to the club aguamarina hotel bar one night and I had one of the funniest drunken experiences I have ever had. I was walking back and the hotels sprinklers came on so I ran for cover and knocked myself out running into a tree but anyway back to the review!
Rooms are fairly basic. I stayed in block B so I don’t know what the "VIP rooms" in the A block are like. No glass whatsoever are allowed in the rooms and if the maid finds any she will remove it. I bought a glass whiskey set as a gift for a relative and left it on show and it was taken. That’s how strict this rule is.
Food is great, there isn’t much of a selection regarding English food but great nonetheless however it never seems to be hot.
Staff are friendly enough and the entertainers work their socks off bless them.
I don’t agree with the negative comments on here. I’ve always said a holiday is what you make of it. The only time we were in the room was after we staggered back from the Irish bar and went to bed!!
Enjoy!

Don't pay too much attention to the low ratings on here, obviously some people have a good reason to be annoyed but some just like to moan regardless, but when you consider the amount of people visiting you can't please everyone all the time. (I’m not a rep btw!)
Anyway, most of the good stuff has been said already on the reviews, we were a couple (m35/f27) and just enjoyed the sun to be honest and I'd recommend it highly for families with toddlers or older kids as there's so much for them to do during the day.
We went in the peak period so was a little busy as it's quite a large complex but it wasn't too bad, we could still relax as most of the noisy kids were just in the pool or by the stage being entertained with games etc.
The only downside we had was that we couldn't have a lie in due to the cleaners at 8:45am shuffling beds about on the tile floors like they were playing competition draughts but if you have kids then I doubt it's a problem anyway! - oh, and lets not forget the toasters for breakfast, if you want toast it'd be quicker to leave it in the sun to burn, it was the biggest hold up.
Nothing really serious but just a little annoying, the food was good too - it didn't make me ill.
We went here as a last minute booking just to get some sun and we've never been H/B before and probably wont again but that’s just our own preference, nothing bad against the hotel. As usual the hotel drinks/foods are more expensive but what would you expect anyway?
Would recommend it for families and any older couples wanting a relaxing time, but don't expect too much from the resort as there isn't many bars/restaurants to choose from, nice resort nonetheless though.

When we booked this hotel, we were very concerned about the hotel and what we had let ourselves in for. We did upgrade to A block with first choice at the time of booking, mainly due to the recent reviews we had read.
Do not ponder this any longer, both blocks quite adequate now and air-conditioned.
We were allocated a sea view room on level -2, this was a nice surprise, however a little warning here, the restaurant is on level 0, we were 2 down, the noise from the chairs in the restaurant transmits down through level -3 and -2, this includes from 8am in the morning, lunch times from 1pm (spoils your siesta if you nip back to the room) and then evening meal times. It is rather bad, I would not like to be on -3 which is the one directly below, as it was bad enough where we were. Request a higher floor room if possible.
We were able to use the restaurant which over looks the sea, as we were in the A block, the food was excellent for all the family, we only ate out on two occasions, the breakfast is also up to scratch, full English every day if you wish
Like the previous review, we again had no fridge in the room upon arrival, we paid 32,20EUR for the 2weeks, and I am currently in talks with first choice to get my money back. Moan over.
The hotel, brilliant!, the kids loved it, the rooms have everything you need, good pools, 4 bars available in the day, and 3 at night. The latest open is in A block, this closed around 2am if people were still buying.
The animation team and Isabella who runs the under 5's playroom were all brilliant, they really get to know the children, and they all receive a certificate at night on stage if they won any of the activities in the day. In the evening, 8:30pm see's the start of the entertainment, 30minutes of kiddies dancing with party songs (we are still singing and dancing to them now, follow the leader leader) at 9pm, there is prize money bingo, 9:50pm is the certificates awards, then at 10pm, the show starts.
Although the shows may not keep you in quality wise, if you are staying around the hotel for the night, then they are enjoyable. The animation team really put a lot of practice in and effort during the show.
The beach is accessed via the lifts in A block, just go down to -1 and then just a short stroll down the path to the beach.
The beach does have loungers and parasols; however each item is 6EUR for the day, 18EUR for 2 loungers and a parasol, quite expensive really, however, you are guaranteed a space. There is not a lot of shade round the pool area's and the Brits are all down at 7am reserving beds.
We always arrived just after 9am, and always seemed to get 2 chairs and a table. Parasols are approx 10EUR from the shop in the hotel, all you need is some elastic bands, or as we did, my wife’s hair bands, put 3 on the table leg and drop in the parasol leg in, instant shade!
The resort is split in 2 directions, going west along the top, there are a couple of supermarkets, an ATM, 3 or 4 bars and a couple of restaurants, one being Chinese. There is also a tobacconist open during the day.
The 3 main bars seem to be, the Outback bar (Australian theme) the Irish 51 bar and the Good Bridge Bar. All 3 are worth a visit; the Irish bar closes at 4am and seems to be the hub of the resort for partying.
Just up the road from the hotel, a 5min stroll is Coves Noves, this purpose built tourist area has a square and is fully pedestrians which makes it safe for the kids. Here you will find another supermarket, an ATM, gift shop,3 restaurants, an outdoor kids play area, which is made up with padded floors and inflatable obstacles including the big blue whale.
It really is good value, as you pay 5EUR per child and they can go in and out all night. Overlooking the play area is the Backgammon bar, which has a good vantage point to watch the kids, complete with karaoke.
However, we preferred the JamBaree bar, this is a great relaxing bar, and the owners are really friendly and can not do enough for you. We recommend the Tuesday night boozy bingo for all the family, it is a good laugh, go and visit.
Another tip, please make sure you take your Euros with you before you travel if you get a good rate at home, only take Euro notes thou (not sterling), as there is nowhere to exchange monies except for the hotels, and they offered 1.36EUR all the time we were there.
My tip would be to use your Maestro switch card in the two ATMs and you will probably get over 1.40 each time from your bank.
On our last day, my wife and I reflected back, and we both came to the same conclusion that we would definitely return here again, please do not have any negatives about this hotel or resort, all of us had a great time and considering the age difference of our children, it proves there is something for all.
Enjoy and relax, we did!

Have just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday at this hotel. Very helpful reception staff (we initially had a room under the restaurant, and the noise of chairs scraping over head was a bit grating) - reception had no problems finding us another, quieter room.
The room was very clean, there were two large single beds and a bunk bed which folded down from the wall. The view of the beach was spectacular, it was more than enough for myself, husband and 2 year old son.
The beach was great for toddlers. The entertainment was excellent; particularly the acrobatics. It is a very quiet resort and the hotel is ideal for young children; as there are many facilities to keep them occupied. We would certainly go again.
