" Great hols "

Went with husband and two year old, very sceptical from reading other reviews but all was very good. Rooms clean but small. Entertainment for kids and adults 6 days a week, 2 year old loved mini disco. Lots of pools included 2 splash pools for kids and one adult only jacuzzi. Train comes each day outside hotel for hour long drive with drop off & pick up if wanted (6 euro's) Bus stop outside and easy enough to get to capital. Booked half board but upgraded to all inclusive for last 5 days and well worth it as came back with lots of change!! Fantastic location for scenery, steep slope to beach but very close by. I would say that this hol is well suited for relaxing & enjoying scenery or families with young children (up to 7 or so).

" GREATEST HOLIDAY OF MY LIFE "

I've Been Back From Menorca For a month now and its been the longest month ever, because i've missed the hotel so much.
The entertainment was brilliant for a holiday abroad. 10/10
The food was ok but was boring. 6/10
The hotel & rooms were very clean. 10/10
The bar staff were arrogant becuase we were all inclusive and would only let us have one drink at at time and we've already paid for them.
if you enjoy drinking dont stay in the hotel after 11pm becuase after 2 nights they threatened to kick us out the hotel and we wasnt even being loud, if you want to drink i would advise you to go down to the wiakiki bar and around 12:30/01:00 am go down to the irish pub for a brilliant night out.
Great Holiday But Bar Staff Ruined It.
The Mini Disco is Brilliant For The Kids Espcially Steven Mcardle The entertainer he is a legend in menorca :) he made our holiday.
Overall rating 9/10

Advice: Small & Nothing Around

Activities: IRISH PUB 51 & WIAKIKI

" Wow! A fantastic family holiday for all ages. "

We had a fantastic time on our first all inclusive family holiday. Grandparents, parents and two children 9 and 10 were all acommodated for. The Thomas Cook reps were fantastic always visable throughout the holiday and ready to give valuble advice but not in your face trying to sell things. The staff at the hotel were very hardworking but again were always available to help but never in your way. We had a fantastic time in and around the pools and the children enjoyed some club activities. They were well looked after and enjoyed receiving their certificates during the night. A special mention to club rep "Becky" she was fantastic with our children and went above and beyond her job to ensure they were happy and enjoyed every day. She worked so hard and we couldn't believe the time she gave to the children even in the restaurant when she was having a break. We had a fantastic "Take That" night with singing and dancing for everyone! The food was varied and always cooked and presented to a high standard. The bar staff were freindly and you never had to wait for more that a few minutes to be served. The beach was closer than all the reviews and brochure tell you with several ways to get there. The water was crystal clear and we enjoyed snorkling off the beach with the kids using the slides on the pedelos. We bought a parasol from the shop for 10euros which we brought back so didn't use the beach ones which were 15euros a day. We wish we had booked two weeks but will definately be returning!

Advice: Quiet with just enough hotel entertainment and variety of bars.

Activities: Fornells really pretty with a good variety of fish restaurants.

" Nothing to worry about! "

After reading some of the non favourable reviews, we found there was nothing to worry about! The hotel is very clean, there are always maids there cleaning, the staff were very friendly and polite. We had a satisfactory room for three (2 adults and one 6 year old), although the child's bed could have been more substantial. We had a superb view over the beach and bay (although we did request this when booking the holiday and paid the highest price available when booking). We would have been disappointed if the room had faced the carpark/supermarket as some did. The food was plentiful and there was something to suit each of us every time, even if we were a bit bored of it by the end of the week. Beware of the warm milk for the cereal! We did find that it was expensive and would be a real strain if we weren't half board. At one bar we spent 10 euros for 3 cokes! A word of warning - don't take the train trip available outside the hotel to Macaret. An absolute waste of money (18 euros for the 3 of us) as there is absolutely nothing there at all. Also, Thomas Cook provides a trip to Mahon market and a ride on a glass bottomed boat but this can be done about 100 euros cheaper if you go on the service bus outside the hotel then just get the boat yourself when you get there, and aren't bothered about going to the gin distillery which Thomas Cooks include in their trip. But overall, a very good hotel for families - very safe, clean and although quiet, ideal if you have children.

" WHEN MYSELF AND MY HUSBAND ARRIVED AT... "

WHEN MYSELF AND MY HUSBAND ARRIVED AT THIS HOTEL IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING, WE JUST WANTED TO GET TO OUR ROOM TO SLEEP AFTER A LONG JOURNEY. WE WERE GIVEN ROOM 106 ON FLOOR LEVEL -1. AS WE WERE GOING ALONG THE CORRIDOR TO OUR ROOM THE SMELL OF SEWAGE WAS REALLY STRONG AND WAS EVEN WORSE IN OUR ROOM, I FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO SLEEP WITH THE STENCH.
THE NEXT MORNING WE MET THE VERY NICE ENGLISH COUPLE IN THE ROOM NEXT TO US WHO WERE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. WE THINK IT MAY HAVE HAD SOMETHING TO WITH THE DRAIN RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR PATIO DOORS AND THE CLEANERS CUPBOARD THAT WAS BETWEEN US. WE WENT TO THE REPS MEETING AND TOLD THEM, THE OTHER COUPLE WHO WERE ONLY STAYING A WEEK WERE MOVED THAT NIGHT AND WE WERE MOVED TO LEVEL 7 THE FOLLOWING DAY. HAPPY DAYS AS I WAS AT LAST ABLE TO UNPACK MY CASE. THAT WAS MY ONLY COMPLAINT AS BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I LOVED THIS PLACE AND WOULD DEFINITLY GO BACK AGAIN. THE DRINKS WERE A BIT EXPENSIVE IN THE HOTEL BUT WE USED TO GO TO THE IRISH BAR OR THE BACKGAMMON BAR IN NOVES COVES FOR A FEW BEFORE HEADING BACK TO THE HOTEL FOR THE EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT. FOOD WAS GREAT, MAID SERVICE WAS GREAT, RECEPTION STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ESPECIALLY WHEN OUR FLIGHTS WERE CHANGED DUE TO COLLAPSE OF XL AND WE ENDED UP ON A PLANE TO GATWICK INSTEAD OF LIVERPOOL, WHAT A NIGHTMARE !!!!! (BUT THATS ANOTHER STORY) WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE JUST DONT ACCEPT A ROOM ON LEVEL -1

" what can i say about this... "

what can i say about this place....its fantastic!! we have just returned from our 2nd time here and have already booked for next year!
we were in block a, there was enough space and it did us for what we needed, but apparently all the rooms have been refurbished.
our rooms were tidied every morning and if you put the hanger on the door they were usually done by the time youd got back from breakfast.
i agree that the food is usually repeated and we did have chips and pasta on offer every night, but for a fussy 3yr old pasta did us just fine.
the drinks in the bar are quite expensive, especially 2 euros for a can of pepsi when you can buy them in the local shop for 50 cents, but all the staff are friendly.
there is bar backgammon just a short walk to coves noves which does cheaper drinks and it also has an inflatable for the kids and trampolines which costs between 3 and 6 euros (i cant remember to be honest)
the animacion team are superb, i cannot tell you enough how much fun they added to our holiday, we joined in nearly all of the games and our little girl did as well when it got to the end of the season and wasnt so busy. they put everything into the shows that they did on a night, they were great : )
the team also do a mini disco for the kids, its great fun, everyone including the adults join in
the weather wasnt great but we still managed to catch some sun and come back with a abit of colour.
the beach was lovely and the fish swam right up near the sand, we met some lovely people there and cant wait to go back next year.

" 2 weeks at club aguamarina we were in... "

2 weeks at club aguamarina we were in block b so many bad reviews, but we found no problems apart from hard pillows, we only had 1 each, but the staff replied with 2 new pillows. all staff very friendly espically in the bar. food was excellent with a good variety.yes the plates were whipped off your table very quickly but very polite waitresses. entertainment was ok at times, nice pools but no brollies around the pool. no problem finding beds or relaxing chairs. the resort very quiet, beautiful bay and beach, clean sands.
overall a very relaxing holiday

" Well, this was the worst holiday we... "

Well, this was the worst holiday we have ever had, nothing to do with the hotel, that was average, clean and for a 3 star acceptable but nothing to get excited about. Well my wife and 7 year old daughter went on what we knew would be a quiet holiday but far too quiet for us and just didnt suit us, the weather was abysmal with only having 2 decent days and then relentlees thunder and lightning for the rest of the week, we ended up hiring a car and do recomend going to menorcas highest point which is called el torro, easy to find. The beach would have been great had we had the weather but if the weather is bad there is very little to do. As there is not many bars there we were paying between 3.6 and 4.5 euros a pint and an idea on price for lunch is approx £30, that was for 2 beers, toasted sandwich. Kids spag bol and porc chop with chips.

we did try to make the most of it but our flight home couldnt come fast enough, we will definately not be visiting menorca again as it just didnt suit us. I wouldnt recomend menorca as a holiday destination if you have kids, saying that we have travelled the world so have lots of destinations to compare and think we are now officially bored of spain as a whole.

Food was good at hotel although they do whip your plates away quickly.

So dont worry about the hotel and food its fine and got us away for a week :)

In the Ozzy bar about 5 mins walk away they have some good tribute acts on, Robbie Williams was very entertaining.

Goody Goody - the kids play area on the beach front was expensive as daughter kept wanting euro after euro which cost a small fortune.

Spar sold cheapish larger and if you rent a fridge for 26 euro (u get 6 back when you leave) its well worth it.

" We stayed at the Aguamarina for 9... "

We stayed at the Aguamarina for 9 nights in september 2008 - had a brilliant time all round. The rooms were very clean although the balcony was covered in sand.

Food was very good - always something you like to eat even for fussy eaters. The staff were always cheerful and helpful.

This was our second visit and it won't be our last - very good value for money, although the drinks at the bar very expensive, but if you do a little wandering and go the Backgammon Bar at Coves Noves, the drinks are much cheaper and it has a nice atmosphere.

Hired a car for all of our holiday and found driving all round the island very easy - it is more or less one straight road with everything off of it, although we did get lost going through Alaior!

This hotel perfect for familys.

While we were there, we had a set of identical twins staying there - ladies in their 50's who dressed top to toe identically - very funny!

Do not worry about going to this hotel - it is lovely.

" Just came back from a weeks holiday... "

Just came back from a weeks holiday at this hotel and it was great! We went half board and the food was fantastic. Rooms were nice although there was alot of ants crawling around. The resort it self is really quiet but that suited us.

" We have just returned from a weeks... "

We have just returned from a weeks holiday yesterday and thought it was a truly fantastic hotel. It's position overlooking the wonderfull bay made it a delight to be staying there. We had read numorous reports about block b and can honestly say these must be very old reports as we could see nothing wrong with it,yes the bedrooms are small but are spotlessly clean and tidy made so by some of the friendliest Spanish cleaning ladys i have ever met.The food was excellent with joints of meat being carved most nights if you want to break the tradition of the usual food served. The entertainment staff really put 110% into everything they do too.All in all a good time was had,so much so that we are in the process of rebooking for next year.

" THIS IS OUR 2ND YEAR RUNNING AT THIS... "

THIS IS OUR 2ND YEAR RUNNING AT THIS HOTEL AND IT HAS DEFINITELY IMPROVED FROM LAST YEAR. RECEPTION STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL. OUR ROOM WAS SMALL BUT SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, VIEW COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER BUT AS WE DON'T SPEND ALL DAY IN OUR ROOMS IT WAS OK. MANAGED TO GET SUNBEDS NEARLY EVERY DAY EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T GO DOWN TIL 8.45AM. WE DID ACTUALLY BUY LILOS FROM THE SHOP OVER THE ROAD AS THERE IS LOADS OF GRASS TO LIE ON. FOOD IS VERY GOOD THE FIRST WEEK BUT REPETITIVE THE 2ND, TRY ONE DISH PER NIGHT AS IT WILL ALL BE SERVED AGAIN THE FOLLOWING WEEK!

WE DIDN'T STAY IN THE HOTEL IN THE EVENINGS, THERE ARE VARIOUS BARS INCLUDING JAMBAREE IN COVES NOVES AND THE WAIKIKI COCKTAIL BAR THE OTHER WAY. QUITE EXPENSIVE FOR COCKTAILS BUT DEFINITELY WORTH IT AND IT HAS A NICE ATMOSPHERE. OUR CHILDREN DIDN'T JOIN IN WITH THE ENTERTAINMENT BUT THERE SEEMED TO BE A LOT GOING ON ALL OF THE TIME.

ALL IN ALL A GOOD HOTEL AND RESORT IF YOU JUST WANT TO SLOB AND BE CHILLED.

" Excellent!!! this hotel is very... "

Excellent!!! this hotel is very enjoyable, especially for families with children. The staff were always polite and keen to talk to you. The animation team were excellent, really energetic throughtout the whole day. Daytime activities always kept you smiling, there was aquafit, rifle shooting and cocktail games for the adults and waterpolo, crazygolf and kids club for the children! The food was good, a mixture of meats, vegetables and puddings everyday. At night the entertainment started with the kids mini disco, where the kids enjoyed learning the dances to songs and meeting the mascot 'FLIPPO!' Then there was bingo followed by the main show. The shows varied from acrobats, battle of the sexes, tribute acts and many more. On arrival into the room i found that it was clean and spacious, the bathroom was big and bright, the only fault was that the toilet leaked, this was reported and dealt with within an hour!!! We visited the beach a few times, nice sea and sand. The hotel itself was brilliant, it was just a shame that it was in the middle of nowhere, it takes 20 minutes to get to Mahon where all the shops were. All in all this holiday was one of the best ive had, id recommend it to all ages!!!
