Torremar I & II Apartments Reviews
" Literally just back from these... "
Submitted By: Ms K ConnellAfter a good look around we decided that we would give it a try as we were only there for a week. We were travelling with our 16 year old daughter and fortunately she was not too bothered about the lack of things to do, the pool area was clean and there were always loungers to be had.
There is still no cash machine so be warned to take plenty of cash with you. If you smoke take cigs with you, as you will find it very difficult to get them in the resort - you can buy them in a couple of places but it is by the carton.
The apartments were clean and quite spacious - been in worse (try Bulgaria) but I wouldn't hurry back to this resort as it is all stairs and hills and there is very little to do.
We did go over to the next bay on the Sunday night for the hippy party but be warned our taxi driver was rude, even aggressive and refused to arrange to pick us back up.
Thankfully as we walked along the road we spotted other tourists getting into a cab and the driver radioed through for us - our driver back was really nice.
If you are looking for lively and happening and you have booked this resort change your booking! All, apart from two, bars close at midnight and all of the restaurants (apart from the Balansat which is fish) sell the exact same menu, the only variation in the amount of herbs or spices that they use - really boring after a few days let alone a week.
Great for a chill holiday with a young family or just a chill holiday if you like lying around doing nothing - if you are a holiday doer doesn’t go here.

Submitted By: Miss B DukesOnly thing we had a problem with was having to ask 3 times about getting our cold water tap fixed, but apart from that it was a brilliant holiday and want to go again.
The weather was really nice, the apartments were really clean and had decent entertainment for both kids and adults.

" Wow, what a brill holiday, the rooms... "
Submitted By: Miss K PearceThe only faults I have were the entertainment and the area itself. The entertainment was great for the kids but a bit Butlins style when it come down to the adults stuff. The area was nice and beach was so close so that was lovely but we found it to be very quiet and the transport into the busy areas was limited as the buses didn’t run often. Apart from that we all had a lovely holiday, and enjoyed it loads!
I wouldn’t go back but that’s only because I’m 18 and I’m after a bit of the club action but if you are after a relaxing holiday then San Miguel is the place to go and I recommends these apartments! Fab, fab, fab!

" We had a lovely time at the Torremar... "
Submitted By: Ms E SpikeThe only thing that we did find a bit annoying was the noise of the Thomson reps at the all inclusive hotels across the road and some nights it did seem like 'battle of the reps' as our rep struggled to be heard over them!
The resort of San Miguel itself is VERY quiet with only a couple of restaurants to choose from, it was lovely to relax for a couple of days but after this we both got bored and hired a car to see the rest of the island and used the apartment as a 'base-camp'! I'd recommend seeing as much of the island as possible to anyone going as there are some truly beautiful places.

" My three sisters and I (two adults, 2... "
Submitted By: Miss JC HenryThe hotel itself, bar and pool area were also very clean and well maintained. We stayed on a half board basis which included breakfast and evening meal. The evening meal was a set menu which changed daily and there were around four choices of starter, main course and desert. Even though the menu was set, the restaurant staff were more than happy to accommodate our requests for a change of main course, when the set menu didn't suit.
The hotel was right on the beach and the children had great fun feeding and catching small fish. The resort is very small and quiet, it does have a few shops, a nightclub and a lovely bar called 'Angela' which is child friendly and definitely worth a visit. On the whole we had a very enjoyable stay, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful (especially the bar staff) and the daytime activities, swimming pool games and evening entertainment kept both adults and children highly entertained.
The only problem I encountered was that there was not a bank or cash machine in the resort itself, a twenty minute taxi or bus ride was necessary to the neighbouring resort and the hotel itself did not have credit card facilities - although the surrounding shops did. Overall, everything considered my sisters and I give it a thumbs up!

" We have just returned from the best... "
Submitted By: Miss Karen CottellThere was a sitting area which was very spacious with a TV with MTV and a Spanish news station very handy for looking at the local weather, there was too a dinning area with a table and six chairs and a very large balcony with a table and chairs too. There was too bedrooms and a fold up bed under the sofa and a person could sleep on the sofa too, the bedrooms were huge one with a double bed and one with too single beds. In each of the bedrooms there were two large wardrobes and another Balcony/terrace in the two of them.
The location was fantastic with the beach a 30 second walk away and around 5 supermarket and souvenir shops with fairly low prices. There are also a small selection of restaurants, which are lovely and there is a lovely buffet restaurant in the big hotel up the hill which anyone can use. It is starter's main course and desert and you can have as much food and drink as you want. First you have to go to the reception with is on the 7th floor and there is a lift or a stairs and the restaurant is on the same floor. Once you get to the reception you just ask for what you want and then help you self when you get to the restaurant.
There is also great entertainment in the accommodation in the morning and in the evening, and there is bingo every night at 9:30 which is a great laugh and the last night my mum won 50 euro. The entertainers were brilliant Richard and Jordan were their names and they made our holiday.

Submitted By: Mrs T CharlesThe entertainment team, Jordan and Richard were first class and were very funny, they even managed to persuade my husband to take part in grease as one of the t birds! Overall it was a nice, relaxed, family orientated holiday and we would definitely go back, although I think the one thing missing is a first aider, although luckily our neighbour Alison had just passed a first aid course and reassured me that I was being a big baby about my cut finger! Thank you Alison!

" My family and I have just returned... "
Submitted By: Mrs K HumphriesThere was a lack of jugs for beer in the evenings which my husband and friend definitely needed as they helped the entertainment team out on quite a few occasions which I must say was hilarious!!.
The apartments are clean and we regularly had clean towels. The resort itself is small but enough for us and our 7 and 4 year old. We would like to say a big thank you to Jordan and Richard for entertaining us they were great. Our two girls loved mini-disco and are still singing music man and star trekking now.
I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet chilled holiday its also great for kids. So all in all we had a great time and would return, we met some lovely people who we are definitely going to keep in touch with you know who you are guys!!!

Submitted By: T WatsonThe resort is great for a relaxing holiday - the beach is less then a five minute walk from the Torremar. The Balansat restaurant which is situated on the beach is an excellent fish restaurant and dishes up very generous size meals. The waiters were very friendly here and the food was excellent.
The beach has loungers which you can hire for 4 euros plus parasols for 4 euros. If all you want to do is just relax on the beach this is the ideal place. Its a small resort and if you are looking for the night life which Ibiza is famous for you are in the wrong place. The resort is ideal for a relaxing quiet holiday.
Ibiza Town is a 30 minute bus ride away costing 2 euro 35 per person. The bus stop is only a short walk from the Torremar and there are always taxis outside the apartments.
We went into Ibiza Town twice during our stay in the evening and it is definitely worth a visit to see the old town and the views of the sea - and if you like a few shops this is worth a look.
We went on an excursion to Formentera which is definitely worth a visit.
All in all a very enjoyable, relaxing holiday.

My family and I have just returned from the best holiday ever. The apartments were lovely, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly, very helpful and genuine nice people.
One of the waiters in particular took to my husband and they had the best laugh. He even took us to the next town rather than us pay the taxi money. His English was excellent. I highly recommend going here.
It is a quiet place for families to relax, without the madness of night clubs etc. There is plenty of entertainment in the complex itself. A fella called Jason from Ibiza excursions was really helpful and told us of many places we could go to.
Next door in the restaurant is the nicest paella you will ever taste. I highly recommend these apartments to families or couples who are looking for a nice relaxed holiday. The entertainment was also hilarious and very, very entertaining.

" I'm sorry that some of your reviewers... "
Submitted By: Mrs Rosemary BradleyI would agree the rooms are basic, tired and in much need of a refurbishment but during our stay they were kept clean and tidy by the maids who were very courteous given my lack of Spanish and theirs of English. There is little in the way of kitchen equipment but given I was not there to cook it was adequate for the breakfasts and lunches we did prepare.
We had three fans in our apartment one in each bed room and one in the main living area. Given the temp was in the high 80's they really only moved the hot air around but if you opened the windows there was a good through breeze. We had a lovely view of the beach from the main balcony and although the road ran in front of the complex it was quiet and didn't produce much noise. The second bedroom had a good view over a small wood and smallholding and we were initially woken each morning by the farmers cockerel but either he ended up in the pot after a few day or we got used to him as he wasn't really a problem.
The resort is small and compact but has all you need for a relaxing holiday. If its bright lights you are after there are plenty of other resorts that can cater for you with discos and all night pubs. I would agree there are limited number of placed to eat but the food is usually very fresh and of good quality. The Camp y sol (mini golf) also has a few specials on each evening which are more local fare. Try the fish platter at the weekend very fresh and enough for 2. The t-bone steak takes up the whole of the plate! The Marine dos is also good with some very traditional dishes while the Balansat on the beach is quiet expensive but worth a treat. The Torremar bar does good breakfasts and snacks during the day and a good value 2 course meal in the evening.
The Torremar in house entertainment is usually 1st class and well balanced between kids and adults. This year was initially a bit disappointing as the entertainer didn't seem to have enough on for the kids in addition he left a few days in to our holiday but the gap was ably filled by Jason who also worked behind the Bar. I understand a new entertainment crew arrived the day we left and were very good. There was a slight problem with the new automated pool chlorination which resulted in bleached costumes and a few of the children had sore eyes and skin. This took a few days to resolve during which the pool was closed but everyone was reimbursed on the spot for their spoilt bathing costumes and as the beach was so close it really wasn't much of an issue for us.
As we are not really pub and disco types we were very pleased to find Angela's a small bar that opens in the evening and caters for those wanting a quiet drink before or after your main meal. Note it opens around 19.00 doesn't serve food and closes when ever. The star is Angela herself who never seems to stop working and is always there with a smile and a welcome.
If its a quiet family orientated holiday you are looking for Puerto San Miguel has all you need the Torremar offer basic standard accommodation but could do with a refurbishment. We have been back three times and to be honest it isn't the accommodation that brings us back rather the people and the resort itself. We enjoy it so much we are going back again this year and meeting up with others we have met on previous trips.

Submitted By: Ms H LagdenI have met many, many repeat customers over the years and I have also met people who don’t know how to enjoy themselves on holiday by not throwing themselves into a Balearic way of living, this is a resort that has bars and restaurants where the locals and holiday makers mix together experiencing local flavours and culture.
I have never experience a holiday from hell in this property so please do not be put off by photos from people trying to claim compensation on their holidays!

Apart from the filth in the room, the curtains were hanging off the rail which didn't even cover the door when WE put them back up, and the patio door to the balcony did not lock. We attended the welcome meeting at 10.30 the same morning to inform the rep and asked her to come along and look ay the room. (we are still waiting for her to arrive) We spent 2days in the room and did not unpack our cases as it was that bad. We eventually got moved from there to a different hotel at a cost of around 500 euros and we even had to pay 37 euros for a taxi. It also cost us £100 in phone calls to get out of there. We had no help or support from the rep at the resort. There were lots of holiday makers complaining about the apartments at the Torremar.

The resort itself was very low key with 2 shops and approx 4 restaurant come bars, if that’s what you call them. (very baron) all unkempt!! I read the reviews before we went and i hope you read our review and take our advice cancel before it's too late and if you can’t good luck as you are going to need it. Worst accommodation I have EVER STAYED IN!!!!!!!!!!! <br>

As far as the room was concerned, it lacked in cleanliness and through the week, our bed linen was changed once and the towels replaced with clean ones twice, the second time being our last day.
However with the entertainment we didn't spend a lot of time in our room.
Entertainment included; children's games such as "killer pool", football on the beach and games in the pool. In the evening the entertainment included; karaoke quizzes and even a production of grease performed by Suzanne, Jordan and willing hotel guests.
The surrounding area is very quiet with 2 or 3 restaurants and around the same number of shops, all of which provide everything a holiday maker would need.
Overall the holiday was fantastic. The only criticism would be the cleanliness.
