stayed at the Mimosa for the 1st two weeks in september, didn't know what to expect before we arrived but where pleasantly surprised. The accommodation is basic but very clean, the apartments were cleaned on a daily basis on some occasions the cleaners cleaned round us as we slept after a night down bar street. The staff were fantastic and very friendly. The only problems we encountered were that we were only given 1 toilet roll every 2 days and 3 towels and for a party of 5 girls this wasn't enough but we were given extra when we asked.
we found a few good places to eat, Jasmin gardens, casablanca, red dragon the staff in all these places were very friendly, and the food excellent, the only complaint we had was in the red dragon where they were constantly plugging the breakfast over a microphone which got really annoying. onto bar street our fave haunts were Atlantis, shakers, mystery, mr frogs and outback to name but a few we usually ended up in all of them. if you want a good laugh we would recommend a trip to see the dream girls, a drag act, absolutely hillarious adult entertainment. A few of the girls went on a boat trip and to camel island which they booked through the happy karoke bar and had a fantastic day so good that they went twice. Would also recommend having a turkish bath it was a great start to the holiday and also helps with the tan. I have been to Gumbet before and found that the shops didn't hassle as much as they did last time i was there and the ones that did were not that bad. The only bad thing about the resort was the number of stray dogs only really saw them on a night but there is a lot.
All in all had a fantastic two weeks and would highly recommend the Mimosa as somewhere to stay.

There were a group of 6 of us who stayed at the Mimosa for a week between the 25th August and the 2nd September. We are a group of 19 and 20 year olds who were looking for a fun holiday. The hotel that we stayed at was a lot better than we expected when we arrived. We booked it for £300 for the week and expected a cheap hotel with not much to do. We found the hotel completely different to how we expected. From the moment we checked in until we left the staff did everything they could to help us. I got ill towards the end of the holiday and all of the staff we concerened and did everything they could to help me friends to get me back to the hotel safely. Tom and Eddie were great fun both in the day and in the night and were always fun to sit in the bar with.
There was not a lot to do at the hotel but just 5 minutes up the road was the main street with all the restaurants and shops then another 5 minutes further up is bar street which we took full advantage of for the whole holiday. One restaurant to mention is Millenium which served great food at a great price and all the staff there were friendly and were happy to talk to you.
If you are looking to book trips anywhere, there is a little shop that sells excurstions run by Ahmet and Karen who are really lovely people and you can get some great deals and great trips from them.
Anyone looking for nights out must head on up to bar street which comes alive at about 11pm. Mystery bar is one that was frequently visited by us and the guys in there would dance with us and let us get up on the bar. The Kareoke Cabin underneath was great and was never too packed with people so you could get up and sing to your hearts content without lots of people watching you. Other bars that were good were Shakers, Central Bar, Shamrock and Outback. All the staff are friendly and will try to get you in with free shots.
The only problems that we found we as there were 4 girls in our party we did get a lot of attention from guys in restaurants but as I had been to Turkey before, I knew how to handle them so as long as you are willing to play the game back, they will eventually get the message and leave you alone. We also had one problem at the hotel. When checking out, my friends got told there was a plate missing from there room and they were going to get charged for it. They let them back into the room to check where the plate was but obviously they hadn’t taken it. I had taken an inventory of what was in my room so we told them that this had been taken and they then let us leave without having to pay as the plate wasn’t really missing.
Overall though, it was an amazing hotel, the pool was great and the staff even better and the weather was amazing. It is somewhere that I may have to return to as it was so much fun!!!!!

Just arrived back from Gumbet, and the holiday was fantastic. My wife, myself and my two girls stayed at the Mimosa, and were quite impressed overall. There are some downsides, but overall, it is a very good place to stay. We found that the furniture in the room was very old and tatty, and that the beds in the lounge were inadequate and uncomfortable, as they were not in great condition, and one was even an old iron bed (but hey, this is not an expensive place to stay, so you can't expect the Ritz standards). The air conditioning only really serves the main bedroom, and it can get hot in the night (three times I slept under wet towels). Please remember, the temperatures can and did reach between 43 and 50 degrees last week. The pool is great, but be prepared to fight tooth and nail for a sunbed. If you are lucky and you get one, keep your towel on it 24/7, as I can assure you, if you dont it will go. Several conflicts were observed during my two weeks, and even I had to move someone off my bed, even though the towel was on it. You do need a pool side bed as the beach is poor (However, sunbeds are free in many places on the beach front). If you like it quiet, then you have gone to the wrong resort. Around our pool at the Mimosa, the music is pumped out virtually all the time, and it is not background level. However, this is Gumbet in general, not just at the Mimosa. The food is very good and competitive. The service is very good, and the staff work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. When eating out, you need to go to the Jasmin Gardens (turn left from Mimosa, and you will meet Erman, or "The cheeky bugger". You will struggle to get past him, but dont worry, the food is very good and comparable with other restaurants. The staff here (Ercan, Erkan, Seyhmus and Mr Petty cash) are excellent. You will enjoy it. Over the road, you need to visit Casablanca. You will be greeted by Falcon, and he is a fantastic, charming matre de. All his staff are excellent, and the food is again very good and competitive. Try the Tempo, where James Bond is on the door, and for a good night, visit the "Happy Karaoke bar" (You know you are there as a sign on the wall inside says Bad singers are welcome). There are two together, and this is the first one you come to when walking up from the Casablanca. Visit Chico's in the town. This is a must. The boys there (Alex, Ramu and his staff) do a show every night, and Thursday night is Turkish night. This is free, so you dont really have to waste money on an excursion. You must see The Dream Girls show (drinks are expensive here) if you have a worldly sense of humour. Be warned, if you have not been to Turkey before, and people say it's cheap, it is not. Yes it is cheaper than Europe, but you wont get a three course meal with drinks for £1.50. A steak is about £10, with lamb kebabs being a little less. Usually they offer free wine. Take it as it is usually a cheaper option than having a percentage off of the bill. Beer (Efes) is about £1.80 per pint. Although the resort is lively and noisy, our children were always made welcome in all the bars and restaurants, you must also visit the Aqua park, as it is great fun. Dont book your trips straight away, as there are many independent excursion operators everywhere, and they are much cheaper. Go on and enjoy your holidays, I am jealous already. I will be returning as soon as possible.
Many thanks, J.P Frost and family.

The mimosa apartments are excellent. There was four lads who went for two weeks not knowing what to expect but it was brilliant. we all agree that we shall return as the whole experience was great. its in an ideal location, only a few minutes from local restaurants. if you enjoy the night life then its idealy situated as bar street is a short walk away and the night life is brilliant. the evenings when we didnt go onto bar street and decided to stay at the apartment were great too. the staff that work there are so friendly and entertaining. Dave known as "dave the rave" was such a character and so entertaining, always up for a joke and a laugh and kept us entertained all the time, never a dull moment, which made the experience in mimosa worth while. the whole experience was excellent and i would recommend to anybody thinking about staying in gumbet. the apartments are situated in quiet surroundings so ideal for people wanting a quiet break too. great staff (dave the rave, ymca tom tom and eddie), great location, great accommodation, great holiday!

The mimosa apartments were pretty bare but comfortable, except the beds!! The towels cleanliness was questionable and they were like sand paper, but the staff were first class and the cleaners worked very hard.
We will definitely return, you have to pay a deposit of twenty pounds on arrival also the air-con,but you get the deposit back before you leave.
Pay a visist to mr horribles bar which is just two minutes walk from the hotel, also check your bills in all the local restaurants as some lure you in with special deals and offers but the final bill sometimes have full charges added on!!
overall a great holiday and a really nice place.

when we arrived at the apartments, the staff seemed a bit confused, but all was ok. next day there was no problem at getting sunbeds, we came down to the pool about 11.30 and there were plenty. the pool area was not busy at all and the hotel was close to the beach. staff were lovely, including our rep. temperature was BOILING, and if you have a hangover- would reccomend relaxing in the pool. the rooms were basic but veryc lean. the apartments downstairs had problems with flooding showers, but upperr rooms were fine. unfortunately the trip was spoilt at the end of the holiday, when the hotel staff calimed that we had stolen 3 plates and 4 teaspoons. we asked to see the inventory list, but they said that it had all been replaced. they would not let us in the room to check the cupboards, and said that we had 'taken' them. upset that they had accused us of stealing we argued with several members of staff. we asked who had checked the room, and got told 'she' did. also when we asked to speak to the manager, all memebers denied knowing who the manager was. in the end we only paid for one plate that we had smashed, but definietly put a dampner on our week.

Just got back from a last minute half term booking to the Mimosa. The apartments are VERY basic even for SC, no TV, Toaster or Microwave but they were cleaned everyday and we really only slept and showered in them so didnt really matter! But we had a great time, the weather was fab, pool lovely, everywhere in the hotel was spotless and the most friendly staff we have ever encountered on our many hols! Travelled on my own with my teenage daughter and was a bit nervous but everyone was brilliant. Eddie and Tom spent ages teaching her card tricks and joking about with her. We found the Uncle Festers restuarant was the best for those with kids (great food, reasonably priced and free MSN and Xbox! as well as pool, Darts ect) and the hotel restuarant great for breakfast or lunch. Loved the TOM system Had a great holiday and we will definately go back.

Travelled with husband and teenage daughter, May 2008.
Had a fantastic time; apartment lovely and big, clean and bathroom a good size (shower really good). Limited kitchen utensils ie. no "sharp" bread knife, small pans and needed to ask for deep cereal bowl!!! We had lovely weather while there and there were enough sunbeds however could do with more umbrellas but the trees provide some shade too..... Pool was nice and clean and nice little toddlers pool. Staff very friendly and polite. Five minutes walk to town centre and beach, supermarket which is very reasonable close by selling milk, bread, water etc.....
This is our second time in Gumbet went last year, and would certainly go back again as it is a beautiful place and there is loads to do and plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Been to Turkey three years in a row and certainly booking Turkey again for the next holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got back from a 2 week holiday last week (May 5th-19th) 2 adults and 3 children aged 2, 4, 6. We had a few problems with our hot water for the first few days but after complaining it got sorted out and 2 of us could shower in the morning!
Hotel staff were friendly, especially Tom from behind the bar, lovely, decent bloke, Eddie is also OK but his sense of humour was very different to ours, we didn't find it funny when he pretended to knee my pregnant (5 months and very visably pregnant)travelling partner in the stomach, after a few akward days Eddie said sorry and our holiday continued smoothly.
Although many people have written that they think the TOM bracelet was a good idea, i personally found it a pain, i would of rather just spent my money in the bar as and when rather than having to put money on my bracelet.
The food choice wasn't great in the hotel but OK for a snack mid-day to keep you going for a few hours. If you have children the JASMIN GARDENS just down the road is brilliant, very friendly staff and a play area for the children, THE FAMILY DOOR near the hotel was also EXCELLENT food, no play area but they love children and keep them amused.
The POOL is FREEZING and i only managed to get in once in the whole 2 weeks, it took my breath away! but the kids loved it and would spend hours in there.
Apartments was basic but clean and comfortable and the staff were great when we arrived and asked if they would move the beds about so the children were all in one room and we had the bigger beds, they just did it without a fuss which was great.
Overall a good holiday, the Turkish night put on at the hotel was excellent and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The tom system was a great idea, we could send the girls for their own food and drinks:)
JT (barman) made our holiday, he was all you could ask for in a barman, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to holiday in Gumbet.

We thought that our accomodation that we were allocated was excellent. We had no complaints, we were very near to the pool. Which there was access to every day with no problem. The staff were very friendly and always able to help with anything we needed. However we did meet other people who were not happy with their accomodation. Which when invited to look at I had to agree that their accomodation was not to the standard that we had. But overall we enjoyed our holiday as we were looking for a relaxing holiday within easy reach that Gumbet had to offer. I would advise anyone going to Gumbet to visit the Pane Vino which is situated on bar street. They serve excellent food to a high standard.

Just got back from Mimosa about a week ago and I must say these are the best apartments I've been to. Fair enough they are basic but the cleaners do come in every day to empty bins etc and to do a bit of cleaning. The only problem that I had with the room was that the pillows were hard, so take your own.
The food was reasonably priced, we found restaurants cheaper on certain foods than the apartments but we found Mimosa cheaper on other things, they have a big range you can choose from.
The bar staff are really friendly and without them the holiday wouldn't have been as good as it was.
While there they put various DVDs on in the bar during the evening. The Tom system they use is quite good, instead of you carrying money down to the bar with you, you take the band attached to your room key and they just swipe that through, obviously you have to 'top up' the tom but it is a good idea.
Places that were nice to eat out at was the Jasmin Gardens down the road, they were really friendly and food was good and on the cheap side.
Another restaurant that is nice is Tempo, this was on the little expensive side compared to Jasmin but the service was better than Jasmin so you do really pay for what you get, at Tempo all the waiters were really friendly!
Turkey was a good holiday, I'm glad would choose Mimosa.
