mixed review.....awfull guests!
from princessharriet
we have just returned from a two week stay at the sanfora in san antonio, ibiza. The hotel itself is nice. The reception area is 24hour and is clean and tidy and the snack restaurant and bar is joined onto this area and is just separated by a glass wall which is abit strange but nicely decorated and good size. There is a intenet service in one room and a lounge area is a good size. Rooms are quite bassic but clean and of a good size. The bathroom has a full size bath and a powerfull shower and water was always very hot. Maid service was daily and they always did a good job of keeping the whole hotel very clean. The pool area was nice a average sized pool also a kids pool and sunlougers and seating areas. All in all we were pleased with the hotel although it was the guests which were the problem. We were aware that san antonio had a lively reputation and we were expecting abit of rowdy behaviour but this was just somthing else. At the end of the day when the pool was empty the amount of rubbish guests had left around it was discusting. Empty vodka and beer bottles, wrappers, food and all sorts there was plenty of bins around the pool but they couldnt be bothered to use them. Then on about our fourth day we went to sit out on our balcony in the morning. When we opened our balconly door the smell of cannabis was so strong that we couldnt sit out there and after only having the balcony door open a fue minuets our room stank of it! My partner went down to reception to complain and a member of staff said they would deal with the problem but a hour later when we walked down the stairwell on the fourth floor the smell of it was still there. The next day just before going to breakfast my partner was on the balcony and looked across to see a another male guest on his balcony snorting cocaine! It was 8 oclock in the morning! in the space of half an hour he had snorted 3 lines of cocanie. Just the sight we wanted to be greeted with first thing in the morning! Through out our whole stay the amount of drug use that took place in the hotel was appauling. Every day we would witness groups of lads on their balconys hoovering up alot of the drug and their blatant lack of discreetness about it was shocking. They were more than aware they could be seen and they just didnt care and convosation about drugs in the hotel was always taking place and could often be heard. One time in the middle of the night one guest could be heard shouting to another about how much drugs they wanted and asking when a dealer would arrive. They were arranging for drug dealers to come onto the hotel premises! Another incedent was that one night before going out me and my partner went to use the lift to find someone had urinated in it. By this point i had just about had enough of the appauling behavior that was going on here so i went to complain to reception. The member of staff that i complained to was so unconcerned i had to show him it in the lift and all he could say was and i quoat "its not my problem, i dont want to clean it up, im not cleaning it up and i am not the cleaner." Now i dont care whos the cleaner that is the most discussting thing i have ever had to experience in a hotel and i would not expect anyone to have to experience that and even worse have to put up with a member of staff that could not care less. we had payed to stay there and had not payed to put up with urine in a lift and sadly the poor cleaners that have to clean up all the rest of the filth that the guests make also had to clean that up too but not untill THE NEXT MORNING! as there are no cleaners that work at night and no other members of staff would clean it as they dont belive its their job! Another thing was that through out the stay the amount af noise made in the night made it difficult to sleep. Shouting, screaming and constant door banging. My partner found it so hard to sleep that in the second week he had to buy sleeping tablets. The sanfora could be a lovely hotel as the building is nice its in a good location and its clean and maybe out of season it could be quieter but i would not risk staying here again to find that out and the fact the staffs attitude is just to turn a blind eye to it all is just dreadfull.

We were very sorry to hear that the holiday on the island of Ibiza did not match your expectations.
We deeply regret the inconvenience you suffered because of some guest`s behaviour. We assure you this behaviour is not the kind we normally tolerate and we are looking into taking actions.

Stayed here with my two mates. The rooms were a reasonable size, and the balcony was nice. We had a room overlooking the pool which was lucky because the other rooms were either overlooking the road or the back of the next hotel. This is a lively hotel, really would not recommend this hotel to anyone else but clubbers. The pool area always has music playing, the barman seems to love a bit of bob marley in the mornings. We managed to get to breakfast once. They open at 8am and close it at 10am, and are quite strict on this. You can buy food around the pool all day though. Opposite the hotel there are spars and off licences, so you can stock up on cheap drink too. The in room safes can be a bit dodgy so they recommend you rent one of the downstair safes. These are completley secure and are in front of the 24 hour reception desk, which is always manned. The walls are quite thin. The hotel is about 10 minutes from Linikers bar, about 15 minutes from the egg, and about 20 minutes to the west end (all walking). It is a nice stroll though. Get any club tickets from your rep or bars like Linikers, Bar M etc etc. The tickets being sold on the street are fakes. If a tout is trying to get you into their bar, haggle for free shots, buy one get one free drinks etc. They earn commision by how many people they get into the bars, so theyl pretty much give you anything! All in all this is a wicked place to stay, the location is great. Really didn't want to come home!
Good budget hotel

Stayed here in August with my girlfriend (we're in our mid-late twenties) and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent location, good sized, basic but clean room, and reasonably quiet. Resort- Sant Antoni is quite pretty, with a well-lit, sweeping promenade towards the Sunset Strip that looks to be a fairly recent construction. The 'Sunset Strip' is very cool, with the likes of Café del Mar, Café Mambo and Kanya having great music and a fantastic atmosphere (and high prices to match). There are also stylish bars near the beach, especially Itaca, Bar M and Plastik, and a nice coastal walk north of Sant Antoni. The exception to the prettiness is the 'West End' which is teeming with unashamedly tacky bars and fast food joints. Cheaper than the likes of Itaca and Bar M and much cheaper than the Sunset Strip it's OK early in the evening but in the early hours it gets rather loutish. By 3am there are hammered-drunk people staggering all over the place. The tackiness is fairly constrained to the West End however, and you could happily avoid it altogether if that's not your thing as there are plenty of other late-night options. Buses are cheap if you want to explore the island or head out to one of the superclubs outside Sant Antoni. Location of hotel- Excellent- around 5-10 minutes walk to the beach and 10-15 minutes walk to the best beach-front (and late-night) bars- Bar M (owned by Manumission) and Itaca. Also around 10-15 minutes walk to a beautiful out-of-the-way tapas restaurant called the Viper Rooms (from the hotel turn right down the dirt-road just before Itaca). It's around 25 mins walk to Café del Mar and far enough (20 minutes) from the West-End that for the most part it avoids the 'rampaging youths'. Facilities- There's a well-maintained pool and snack bar, coin operated internet access and a pool table. Rooms- Clean, good-sized, basic rooms with a good amount of storage. No facilities such as kettle, fridge etc. but I wouldn't expect those at this price. Safety deposit boxes are available for a small charge from reception. Friendly maids with daily service. Noise- the hotel was commendably quiet at night other than on two (out of eight) nights when I barely slept due to the noise. On those two nights between 4 and 5 ish apparently some guests thought it acceptable to run up and down corridors banging on doors and attempting to pull other guests by shouting and screaming down the corridor at each other, or playing loud music. It was fine for the other nights, however, and overall it was quieter than I expected. Overall- we had a fantastic time in Ibiza and the S'Anfora was a good base. I'd happily recommend it.
best bargin ever if your young an lively

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and to be honest i didn't expect much for the price we paid, but i was surprized. The hotel staff was lovely and very accomadating. Food at the bar was good and cheap enough but if you wanted something as good but cheaper go across the road to the little cafees. never made the breakfest but heard its continental. The room was spacious, but if you intend to have an early night forget it the walls are thin so you can hear everthing, it was cleaned every day, towels sheets etc.(well thats if you wanted it cleaned unless you were hanging and just couldnt be bothered they'd just leave towels etc ) The air con was the best thing ever, its was so hot and sticky that air con is a must.Sometimes it can get a bit too cold with it on but anything was better than been roasted . Great location, a nice 7/8 min walk to all the bars , another 3/4 mins to the west end. Pool was lovely, clean, refreshing .Music played daily need to ask to higher it . It can be very low. i will be defo be returning.....

Having booked a cheap last minute deal in may for £180 we where not expecting too much. The rooms where simple with spacious balconys. No television or Fridge. Excellent maid and reception service. The pool is well looked after and had no problems getting sun loungers. Very clean but basic. Enjoyed a pleasent week here.
noisy doors and other guests!
from nicashLeicester
When we first arrived we were surprised at how nice the hotel looked , apart from the rooms being very basic the rest of the hotel seemed really nice. All of the staff were nice and friendly and the hotel is in a really good location just out of the really busy part but a nice short walk in to all the action. The main problem was all the younger people staying at the hotel not that we are old ourselves us being early thirties, we were told the hotel was not an 18-30 hotel but most of the other people staying were very young and noisey. There was lots of sillyness around the pool during the day which involved heavy drinking and noise so we tended to stay at the beaches rather than the pool, but the main problem was at night time... Our night out was going out for a nice meal and a few drinks and on one of the nights we stayed out til about 4 am but mostly we came in about midnight, so when we first got in to bed it was very quiet as most of the other guests were still out partying but you defo got to know when they all came back to the hotel as the noise was terrible, doors slamming .. the walls were very thin anyway and you could here next door have a shower, or toilet flush but the younger members that stayed here were staying out til all hours which was fine but when they returned the noise of them slamming doors, shouting ,laughing, arguing!! carrying on with partys in there rooms was a nightmare, our next door had blasting music at 5 am and I ended up getting the security as they refused to turn it down. After this holiday we came to realise that it does matter where you stay and even though the hotel seemed nice the other guests spoilt it for us and what was a nice cheap break we would make sure next time that we stay in a 4 * hotel and pay more so we can have a bit of peace at night and a better clientel around th pool during the day.

This hotel is great!

I stayed at this hotel with a friend for a week's holiday; we only booked this hotel because it was cheap and close to San Antonio. With this hotel only being a 2 star property I wasn't expecting a lot as I have stayed in similar star hotels in the area before and they were in terrible condition. From the moment I walked in to the building I was impressed by its cleanliness and standard of facilities that were provided. We arrived in the afternoon and were quickly given our room key and welcomed to the hotel. We stayed in room 201 which was spacious and clean and had a great air conditioning unit. I was also very impressed as we requested a pool view room and this was granted - something that has never happened in the hotels that I have stayed in on past holidays! The maids cleaned our room and changed our towels daily which I think is more than enough especially for a hotel of a 2 star standard! The swimming pool provided is a great size and catches the sun perfectly throughout the day. There were plenty of sun beds to go around as well. We booked Bed and Breakfast with this hotel and it was well worth it. Every morning there was a selection or cereals, fresh fruit, breads, pastries, ham, cheese, eggs, and beverages. The tables were cleaned and set up ready for the next holiday maker as soon as one had finished. I was also very impressed to find an internet room, bar and pool side cafe which served a good selection however it was a bit pricey. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk in to San Antonio Bay which I personally think is a great location. The hotel was also very quiet at night apart from the odd group arriving home after a night out. If I go to Ibiza again (which I probably will!) I will definitely consider staying at this hotel again and recommend it to all of my friends. This hotel is really under-rated and should be higher than a 2 star!
Great weekend getaway

After booking the S'anfora for 4 adults, stopping for 2 nights, via the internet, we were sceptical since the price worked out at just over £11ppp including breakfast! On arrival the hotel look small and friendly with a clean and air conditioned reception. Check-in was simple and hassle free. The rooms were basic but very clean. The added bonus was air-conditioning - a must in the hight of summer. The pool area was clean (hosed down every morning) with an out door bar service. The patio got the sun all day but the patio area due to its size made for a rush for sun loungers in the morning. Breakfast was a simple continental type affair with hams, cheeses, breads, cereals, eggs, pastries etc etc. The visitors stopping in the hotel were mainly late 20-somethings and much more sophisticated than say an 18-30's hotel. Some of the guests were 40+ but these probably made around 25% of the hotel guests. All in all an excellent 2 day stay in the S'anfora and for the money you can't grumble at that!
budget accomodation.

A budget hotel in San Antonio Bay, Ibiza. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the bustling part of the town (including Paradis niteclub), full of restaurants and clubs, and a 15 minute walk from beaches. It would be an ideal hotel for partygoers who wish to attend the clubs in the area and walk home. The rooms are very basic, two single beds for couples and a small balcony. No mini fridge or TV. Small bathroom. The room was not particularly clean, there were still hairs on my bed spread from the last occupant, and the room was not tidied every day by staff. Air conditioning barely works. The level of noise in this hotel is high, the walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbours of a night time (we could hear the boy next door vomitting all night) and the maids are very noisy early in the morning...so you will not get much sleep. The breakfast is basic, but quite good. Consisting of bread, sliced meats, boiled eggs, fruit and pastries. This hotel is for partgoers, and you will hear them entering their rooms and making loud noise at all hours.
