This is a modern clean well equipped accommodation block, built 5 years ago. We stayed in one of the 2 upstairs apartments which consisted of 2 double bedrooms (2 bedside cabnets, chest of drawers & wardrobe in each bedroom), one room had twin beds & the other had a double bed; large well equipped kitchen with kettle, coffee machine, large fridge/ freezer, oven & hob, even had a double sink with plugs, dining area with table & 4 chairs, living area with bed settee & further 3 seater settee & TV; large double balcony with further table & 4 chairs; a lovely bathroom with vanity/ storage unit, shower screen above the bath and a hook for the shower.
We had a good view of the sea from our upstairs apartment, which is behind and between Jacks Bar and Sergios Apartments on the front. The owner Fotini was very helpful, cleaned & changed our rooms every 3 days, even baked us a cake and also sent us home with a present from Greece. Roughly 150m from the beach along an unlit lane at night, so take a torch.
There is a nice walk up by Anastasias Garden Apartments which eventually takes you on to the main road out of Stegna, or further up the hill beside the goats if you are feeling a bit more energetic.
There are lots of lovely restaurants in Stegna, really spoilt for choice, difficult to have a favourite but Maria's food is excellent just along from the apartments and beside the supermarket.
There is a bus to Archiangellos (which is a large town with supermarkets & fruiterers etc) 2 or 3 times a day, a taxi is about 7 euros, from here you can get a bus to any of the other resorts, e.g. Rhodes, Falaraki, Lindos etc.
Stegna is a very quiet resort, ideal for couples and families.

Just got back from a great holiday, very relaxing. The apartment was spotless, cleaned every day except Sunday, the beach was just across the road, its a lovely beach as well. We will definitely go back there first opportunity we get. Met some lovely people while we were there. There are some great places to eat and drink and the locals are very friendly and helpful.

WOW! Me and a friend decided to take a quiet last minute holiday, somewhere where we could relax and have a quiet drink in the evening, and this was where the travel agent came up with, and it was perfect! The Stegna Mare apartments were lovely, extremely clean and tidy, and the reception we received was great. The Stegna Star apartments are quite close to the Stegna Mare, but for us this was really not a problem, the people there had all been to Stegna before, and were all really friendly.
It was mine my friends first time to Rhodes and Stegna is beautiful. The beach was gorgeous and is just across the road from Stegna Mare, the sea was lovely and ideall for cooling down in!! For a friendly reception away from the Stegna Star (the taverna by Stegna Mare), I would have to recommend going a short stroll away to En Plo, the service we received in here was excellent and everyone who worked there was very friendly. If you're an early bird, or even if you're not, you have to get up early one morning and watch the sunrise, it is lush!! And don't worry about going back to your apartment, just have a nap on the beach and you're set up for the day!! There is a bus into Rhodes town and costs just 7euros return, however, there is only 1 bus a day!
Stegna is the ideal place for couples, and I am hoping to take my husband there soon, but that aside, it is also nice for families and if you just want to get away and relax, not really suitable if you're after a hectic nightlife though, there did appear to be a small club there, but this only opened on a Friday and Saturday night, but we didn't go!! Maybe next time!!
If you decide to go, I'm certain you will have a wonderful time, and I will certainly be going again!! Enjoy!!

My partner and I have just returned from a week staying at the Stegna Mare appts. It was our 2nd holiday in Stegna. Our 1st was in 2006 when we stayed at the Tsambika Appts where we had the perfect appartment unfortunately no longer available to British travel agents)Our appartment at Stegna Mare was very spacious and very clean, and cleaned every day. We were on the ground floor and faced the appartment opposite which was just a few feet away,we had to keep our curtains shut most of the time, as we could see into each others appartments(children are very nosey!!)there was a path between us so there were people walking past all the time, there was no privacy at all. We couldn't sit out on our patio for a peaceful drink as it was like a social club with all the people out on their patios chatting across to each other, call us unsociable if you like but we just wanted peace and quiet and privacy!!!!The air conditioning would have cost 65 euros for a week which we felt was very expensive especially if your spending money is limited.A fan would have been sufficient and surely much cheaper. We kept our patio door open all night and felt very safe, we didn't use the safe, again a money making scam!!!Charlie who we assume owns the appartments is very helpful and is known as the library,if you want to know anything just ask him!!Our pick up was at 3.45 am on Sun so we should have vacated the app by 12noon on Sat which would have meant 13 hours to wait with nowhere to freshen up etc, but we were allowed to keep our room til it was time to go. It cost us 40e but to us it was worth it. We feel a week in Stegna is enough for a relaxing holiday unless you go on some excursions or hire a car.

Following the death of our father, my sister and I decided to take a relaxing break.
We could not have chosen anywhere more suitable that Stegna. The whole resort was spotlessly clean and peaceful. There is no through road once you get down to the resort and are only a few buses daily.
The accomodation was brilliant, I have been to Greece and her Islands many, many times and have not come across anywhere so clean. The Owners Charlie and Tsambika were more than helpful, and the room was cleaned throughly every day (except Senday), the bed linen and towel were changed 6 out of the 7 days of our stay.
There is a Taverna next door at the Stegna Star Apartments and is just as clean and friendly, definately not noisy except on the Greek night which finished around 11 anyway.
I would recommend this location and accomodation to anyone who loves the true feel of Greece and wishing for a typically unspoilt and peaceful Greek holiday. I am hoping to go back later in the season with my husband, maybe then we will hire a car and go to do some sight seeing.

The Stegna Mare studios are fantastic. Very, very clean and a fair old size. To be honest they are the best studios I have stayed in in Greece. There is not to much privacy as you are overlooked by the Stegna Star apartments, but everyone was so friendly, so it didn't really bother us. The furniture and facilities in the studios were new. The only down side was the rock hard beds. I ended up sleeping on a lilo they were that hard.
You are right on the beach and Charlie will sort you out with a longer for a few euro. All his family are very nice and can't do enough for you. Very, very nice people.
The restaurant is fine, not the best in the resort, but fine. Try Kozas. A class apart from every other restaurant in Stegna.
Stegna is great. Quiet enough to relax and busy enough to have fun. The sea was fantastic and snorkling is a must. I would return again except for one problem.
The studios are only available through Kosmar. Simply the worst company I have ever traveled with. Incompetent reps and their parent company XL make Ryanair seem like Quantas. Charlie, please move your fantastic apartments to another company.

We cant think of anything bad about Stegna. If you want a 100% relaxing holiday Stegna is the place to go.The apartment was clean (and cleaned daily) roomy and comfortable, the only thing i missed was the toaster !. the beach was spotless but we went at a time of the year when the water was freezing, however it did not stop us swimming and once you where in it was great. the food was lovely, really delicious, but avoid marias if you don't like a lot of salt on your food. for your souveniers i reccomend Lefteris, he has some lovely things to take home as presents. EVERYBODY in Stegna is friendly and helpful but the person you MUST chat to is Charlie, he has some classicly funny stories and will keep you in stitches. i did notice that men who had been to Stegna before took their fishing rods as the fishing is supposed to be good.
We where not happy with Kosmars trick of saying you get 7 nights and finding out that the first night you have paid for you are actually stiill in the UK. We arrived at 06.30am and the room we where allocated was occupied. We where put into another room and told we would be moved later but told our rep we did not want to move so where allowed to stay, that meant i could unpack.on our last day we had to vacate our room ( or pay another 30 euros) at midday, but the coach was not picking us up until 03.45. We where told there was somewhere to store our bags but there wasn't ( we where lucky enough to have met Diane and Dom who looked after our bags in their apartment most of the night) we then had to sit outside for 15.45 hours. Luckily the owners of the taverna next door , the stegna star, allowed us to sit in the restuarant patio all night. by the way if you eat in the Stegna star i reccommend the fish, i asked for shrimps and got massive great big prawns, the biggest i'd ever seen, put me off ordering the lobster a bit !!!!! all in all its a holiday i would reccommend and we will definately be going again next year.

Stegna Mare was fantastic! The rooms were spotless and the bedding and towels were changed daily.
I have visited Stegna before and stayed in various apartments but none even came close to the standard of the Stegna Mare.
I would highly recommend trying it. The rooms were amazing and the owners were some of the nicest people I have ever met !
The holiday was great and I will be returning there next year !!

I would recommend this holiday to anyone. I have been to Stegna in previous years, staying in other apartments but Stegna Mare was by far the best. With friendly owners and beautiful rooms !
I will be for sure visiting Stegna again and making sure I choose the Stegna Mare !

What an absolute chill out holiday. My wife and my friend Alan and his wife Vicky have just had the most restful holiday ever.
The Stegna Mare apartments are 30 feet from the beech, and what a beautiful beech it is. Snorkelling and swimming in the crystal clear and warm sea are a must. The apartment block appears to be new, as does all the fixtures and fittings, but are in fact 5 years old!
Charlie and his wife Tsambika are the owners and are perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble, and cleanliness is order of the day, every day. Bed linen is changed daily, and towels every other day.
This tiny resort is what Greek island holidays is all about. Unspoilt in every way, with Greek being the dominant language by all, as is the food. Please let us keep this resort just the way it is, with the charm and beauty of Real Greece.
This resort is a million miles away from the likes of Faliraki, and Lindos, which are good in their own right, especially just for a visit.

What can I say about Stegna? My daughter and I had the most fantastic time! It's one of the most relaxing places I've ever been to - just what you need for a laid back holiday. The Stegna Mare Studios are spotlessly clean thanks to Tsambika and Maria who cleaned every day without fail, apart from Sundays. The Studios are well equipped and the shower (Most important!) was warm and didn't spray all over the floor, due to the fact that it was within a bathtub, with a shower curtain! Never had this in Greece before!
The beach in Stegna is great, there is a small amount of shingle as you enter the sea but once in, it's not a problem. I'm not a great swimmer but felt fairly confident up to about 10 metres out. Plenty of sunbeds & umbrellas at 6 Euros for 2 people.
The Restaurants in Stegna were very good, we found the Stegna Star and En Plo excellent - don't miss the Greek Night at Stegna Star on a Thursday, it was really special.
We rented a car for 4 days so that we could see a bit more of Rhodes and managed to traverse the whole of the east side of the Island. We found Lindos a bit "Touristy" and didn't spend more than a couple of hours there. The Kalithea Thermal Spa is definitely worth a visit - lots of information in the museum part and some spectacular views too. However, you do have to pay an entrance fee. (Make sure you follow the signs to the toilets and you'll stumble across the rest of the place!) I think the best place we visited was Prassonissi Beach, down at the southern tip of Rhodes. On the right of the beach was the Aegean Sea and to the left the Med. (Depending on your view-point.) Lots of windsurfing going on down there but if you climb to the top of the hill you can see some fantastic scenery. I might add that you should keep to the tracks left by other cars otherwise you could find yourself in a sandy grave - not easy to get out of without assistance! A 4 wheeled vehicle might be of benefit here! We laughed about it afterwards in one of the local Tavernas but to be honest, without some help from German tourists pushing us out, we would have been well stuck! We've been to Rhodes Town before, on a previous visit so didn't bother this time but it's well worth a visit.
All in all, we had a great time at Stegna, met some wonderful people and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Don't go there if you want the "Bright Lights" of Rhodes, it's a laid back sort of place, not often found on a holiday!
